MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
As with all new things I instinctively don't like it. Having gotten that out of the way, I think it fails on the same axis that mill does. Leak does convey some kind of loss but it still doesn't sound right. More importantly it doesn't sound pleasant, but it isn't unpleasant in a cool fantasy way, just kind of eww.
This wording would make sense if it were a memory leak in a science fiction setting. Unfortunately, that connotation is incompatible with MTG, and the fluid-based definition doesn't jibe well with the two most common forms the deck takes, namely a stack of cards and a (mental) library. Even actual mill cards with this flavor are pretty much limited to the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor setting.
Oh, and the word is rather reminiscent of a colloquialism for a certain bodily function.
It also doesn't really need to specify that your library leaks, since each player only has one library outside of un-magic. It should just be 'leak 5' or 'target player leaks 5'.
Which makes the choice of word seem even worse. Nobody wants to take a leak to the face, after all.
'Scour', 'Spill', 'Forget', 'Fray', 'Shred', there are a lot of suggestions for this, and 'Shred' is my personal favorite. I think this will be keyworded at some point, but leak has too many unfortunate associations.
'Discard from Library' is the cleanest option that Wizards will never implement because the game has 25 years of not doing that to errata.
My second choice would be Scour, because that gives me the image of really roughly cleaning something, and my third would be Shred, because while there are potentially troublesome connotations to shredding cards, it's something that can be done to the pages of a book, or the inside of a skull.

Leak is much more closely related to mana, as in mana leak. Another idea is library burn, but that relates to damage, as in book burning. This leaves me with ideas that relate to black spells, library rot or devour library. But again, mind rot relates to discarding, not milling.
