Miznixx Genius Electrocutonier 1RU
Legendary Creture - Goblin Wizard
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, you may flip a coin until you lose a flip or you win a number of coin flips equal to that creature's toughness. Miznixx Genius Electrocutonier deals damage to that creature and to you equal to the amount of times you won a coin flip this way. "I got my master by determining how many times i could be struck by lightning before dying." 2/2
Niv Mizzet 2RRUU
Legendary Creature - Dragon Wizard
Flying
Whenever you cast a Red Sorcery for the first time during each turn, you may draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order.
Whenever you cast a Blue Instant for the first time during each turn, you may have Niv Mizzet deal 3 damage to any target. 5/5
NOTE: Niv Mizzet's name is not incomplete, he is simply called Niv Mizzet, like the guy is so full of himself that dont need any more words...
Miznivixx seems kinda bad. Coinflip mechanics should have a good risk-reward balance that benefits you relative to the difficulty, but this ability has way too much risk for the reward it offers. You don't want to risk doing this on lots of small creature because of the chance to "win" too many flips to deal overkill and punch yourself in the face, but using it on large creatures risks damaging yourself without killing anything. I feel like this creature might sit around doing nothing simply because there are so many situations where the ability is not worthwhile.
Your Niv-Mizzet design is solid and fair, if not necessarily as combo-riffic as the other versions. It reminds me of Keranos, God of Storms, except requiring more work for a higher payoff.

Very much so, but I think the ability is clever even though it's bad as-is. One fix is to add in the Fiery Gambit "...or choose to stop flipping."
What if the creature was dealt damage before, and you need only one damage to kill a 4/4?
I also would like to tell that I like your Niv Mizzet. It's a nice change to see a value, not combo Niv. I'd drop your/opponent's turn clause (leaving once per turn) to make it a little stronger and lower deck consturction requirements. I feel it's underpowered now.

Since the ability triggers on the creature entering the battlefield if there are other effects that would deal damage to that creature you should try to stack them so this one hit it first...just in case.

Fair enough, I'll give it the pump by simply making them "Each Turn"

Miznixx now stops flipping coins if you reached that creature's toughness before losing a flip.
