Ixalan inspired me to design a card that could be test named "Dino Sword". I opted for an Equipment similar to Moonsilver Spear and Captain's Claws that produces a token every time the equipped creature attacks. Since the weapon would be associated with the Sun Empire, it could take a form similar to a macana or maquihitl.
Dinomaster Blade4
Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gets +3/+3.
Whenever equipped creature attacks, create a 3/3 green Dinosaur creature token with trample that's tapped and attacking.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
That seems ... really, really insanely strong. I'd recommend exiling the token at end of combat a la Brimaz, King of Oreskos.

Xantcha, Phyrexian Reject
Jodah, Archmage Eternal
Tovolar, Howlpack Alpha
Pivlic, Orzhov Informant
Crixizix, Master Engineer
Feather, Boros Peacekeeper
Marisi Coilbreaker
O-Kagachi
Gix, Phyrexian Praetor
Karn, Father of Machines
Yawgmoth, Father of Machines
Serra, Mother of All Angels
Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools
Leshrac the Nightwalker
Jeska, the Thrice-Touched
Elspeth Returned
Crucius the Mad
Taysir the Infinite
Urza's Head (Unglued!)
Brimaz doesn't exile at end of combat. Consider it takes 4 mana both for casting and equipping, and that Moonsilver Spear puts out bigger tokens for the same costs (though without boosting the equipped creature's PT, granted).

In limited, it's obviously a powerhouse, that turns every creature you control into a must-stop threat. So this will need to be rare or mythic, but I'm assuming you already figured that.
In constructed, it costs too much for aggro, and isn't defensive enough for control. Depending on the environment, it could find a home in a midrange/ramp deck, but since that's exactly the deck dinosaurs is trying to be, it'd fit perfectly
You know, now that I think about it, I want to make an Equipment like this for all four of Ixalan's major tribes. We have Dinomaster Blade, let's see what the other tribes inspire...
Captain's Cutlass3
Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gets +2/+2.
Whenever equipped creature attacks, create a 2/2 black Pirate creature token with menace that's tapped and attacking.
Equip 3
Conqueror's Rapier2
Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gets +1/+1.
Whenever equipped creature attacks, create a 1/1 white Vampire creature token with lifelink that's tapped and attacking.
Equip 2
Herald's Trident2
Artifact - Equipment
Equipped creature gets +1/+1.
Whenever equipped creature attacks, create a 1/1 blue Merfolk creature token with hexproof that's tapped and attacking.
