Invoke (Your tapped creatures can help cast this spell. Each tapped creature you untap after you're done activating mana abilities pays for 1 or one mana of that creature's color.)
I actually quite like this mechanic. It's much more aggressive than Convoke and probably ends up being a little less powerful, which opens it up a bit.
The mechanic looks great! The card is...not great haha. But I do enjoy the design space it has both in itself and how it synergizes with other cards in unusual ways. The creature comes into play tapped? That just helps me out!
If I tap my Nantuko Elder for mana, then untap it to pay for this, can I still tap it yet again to pay for this? Whatever is the case, it might be a problematic scenario to understand/explain when this mechanic is initially encountered.
I imagine it works like Improvise, where the cost reduction happens after you're done activating mana abilities, so no.

Improvise isn't a cost reduction though - convoke used to be, but now they are alternate ways to pay the cost - and improvise doesn't work with mana abilities that require tapping because you cannot tap an untapped artifact both for improvise and to pay the mana cost (or creature for convoke) - you would have to find a way to untap the artifact in-between. "Invoke" though is exactly that way to untap your permanent, so it would allow you to do that.
The case would be different if invoke used the original wording functionality of convoke, but the current wording implies we have left that behind for invoke.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

The wording is that untapping the creature pays for this. Mana abilities are activated immediately before paying for a spell, so an untapped Avacyn's Pilgrim could effectively pay 1W for this, while a tapped one would only pay 1. They would both end up untapped.
You should include the "after you're done activating mana abilities" bit from the reminder text of Improvise to make this more clear.
Overall it's a really neat mechanic, and I think it could be very intuitive as well with just that extra bit of reminder text. The only thing I might change is the name, but I can't think of any better ones for now. Alternatively if you allow creatures to pay for their respective colors in addition to just colorless like Convoke does then keeping "Invoke" would probably be better for its parallelism with "Convoke".
So...
Improvise (Your tapped creatures can help cast this spell. Each tapped creature you untap after you're done activating mana abilities pays for 1 or one mana of that creature's color.)
Then again, "Evoke" does something else entirely, so...

You are correct. I forgot that mana abilities have a restricted window than I assumed to be activated during the resolution of spells.
