Hey guys! I am new to these forums. I have technically been playing magic for about 2 years now, but I have only really gotten into it in the last 6 months. Here are a few card ideas I have. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Enjoy!
First of, we have Tevisan, Beast of Terror. The basic idea of this card literally came to me as I was falling asleep. It would be good in EDH, especially as a commander.
Tevisan, Beast of Terror3RG
Legendary Creature — Beast {R}
Reach, Trample
When Tevisan, Beast of Terror deals damage to a player, that player sacrifices a land or a creature with flying.
2/6
Second, I have A Peak Beyond. The basic idea was thought of by me, but my friend helped refine it. Thank you!
A Peak BeyondXU
Sorcery {U}
Scry X, then draw a card.
Lastly, there's A Roll of the Dice. This card is older then the others and one of the more experimental cards I have made.
A Roll of the DiceXBU
Sorcery {R}
Roll a six sided die. If it lands on one, then target player loses 3 life. If it lands on two, then you lose 3 life. If it lands on three or four, you draw two cards then discard a card. If it lands on five, you discard your hand and draw a card. If it lands on six, put X 6/2 Shark tokens on the battlefield.
Do you really like to play cards that balance a potentially devastating outcome with the possibility that you just paid a lot of mana to gain an effect that is entirely detrimental to you? Swingy random effects are usually not nice cards to play with/against.
Since I personally am not a fan of die rolls, I'll push them to flavor and just conjur a random effect from this:
Roll the Dice
Sorcery
Reveal the top X cards of your library. ~ deals damage equal
to the number of instant and sorcery cards revealed this way
to each opponent. Add to your mana pool for each land
card revealed this way. Put a 2/2 red Ogre creature token
onto the battlefield for each creature card revealed this way.
Put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in any
order.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Tevisan, Beast of Terror3RG
Legendary Creature — Beast {R}
Reach, Trample

I agree with Dash that 2/6 beast is really unusual. You should put him 3GRB at least and make him 5/5. Also, change the "deals damage to a player" into "deals COMBAT damage to a player". Otherwise it would be really broken with some spells/equipments which can give you shooting for mana or shooting on tap.
A Peak BeyondXB
Sorcery {U}
Scry X, then draw a card.
Again, agreement with Dash, this card should be mono-blue. It could be black if as a part of the casting cost, you had to sacrifice a creature and X would be its power.
A Roll of the DiceXBU
Sorcery {R}
I like random cards! And again, agreement with Dash, Red is the main color for randomness. And you could make it 1RU, because it has draw in it. Also, put 3 positive and 3 negative effects on the card. Something like:
"On a 1, Roll of the Die deals 3 damage to target creature or player. On a 2, Roll of the Die deals 4 damage to you. On a 3 you draw two cards. On 4, you discard your hand. On a 5, put 3/1 elemental token with haste onto the battlefield. On 6, each opponent gets 1/1 goblin token with first strike"
Tevisan, Beast of Terror - The trigger feels more like a black-red ability. Reach is odd on a creature that is rolling around crazy on the ground.
A Peak Beyond - This should be blue. Blue gets the most scrying and the deepest scrying, and it already has similar cards like Flash of Insight, Machinate, and Worldly Counsel.
A Roll of the Dice - Die rolling in Unlgued was especially disliked when the effects were six random unrelated effects. When players can barely predict how cards like Goblin Tutor, Strategy, Schmategy, or Urza's Science Fair Project are going to play out, then they just aren't going to bother playing them. This card falls mosly into that kind of unfun and unplayable use of die rolling.
Other die rolls just repeatedly looked for a certain number like Chicken Egg, or used the die roll to set a value like Elvish Impersonators. This use of die rolling leads to much better more playable card designs.
Thank you all for your advice! First off, the black was a typo -- I meant to make APB blue. So I guess here's the modified version:
A Peak BeyondXU
Sorcery {U}
Scry X, then draw a card.
Now about the two other cards:
Tevisan:
Oops, I will change it to combat damage. And I guess that is fairly black -- I just figured that it would be red/green because land destruction is red and anti-flying (plus reach and trample) is green. I know a 2/6 with reach and trample may seem odd, but it just seemed right. I guess I could neutralize it out to a 3/5 though. I just wanted it to be a good blocker as well.
AROTD:
This was meant to be a late game card. That way, you will have so much mana open that it doesn't matter that the X is only applicable to one. Let's say you have 8 mana out and the only card in your hand is this one -- if you tap out, you can have a chance to put 6 6/2 tokens on the battlefield, which is insane. If not, no biggie. Also, the discard your hand and draw a card ability wouldn't be awful, since you would actually get to draw a card. And I guess changing it to red/blue would make sense.
Tevisan, Beast of Terror3RG
Legendary Creature — Beast {R}

If it is supposed to be an anti-flying card, it is weird that a player that doesn't control any flying creatures is punished by having to sacrifice a land.

Ehh, true. But I mean getting this out early enough basically ensures that the other player will run into trouble getting their flying creatures by it and will likely have to sacrifice some creatures.

They'll only run into trouble if you don't attack. If you don't attack they're not going to be sacrificing anything. It's not like it's super hard to stop the damage if you do attack anyways, considering its low power to mana cost ratio.

Reach, Trample, Vigilance

How does this look? Too OP? I guess I could up the mana cost. And I know vigilance is a white ability but it seemed appropriate.
With my last post I was assuming that the opening post was a typo and was supposed to be "creature with flying." ... Yet you repeat the "typo" again. So it is pulling in two competing directions.
1) The triggered ability makes it seem like it is writhing around on the ground and accidentally crushing the land or killing a creature under it. That doesn't need any green in it and could be black-red, but the creature flailing on the ground should not have reach.
2) The triggered ability could drop the land destruction and just be a Plummet version of Throat Slitter's trigger. (Or maybe a damage based trigger like Mordant Dragon.) Then reach wouldn't feel like an out of place and tacked-on ability.
Oops, I feel really really stupid. Yes, I meant creature with flying. And the land destruction is to just make it even more unique and good in EDH, plus it allows you to hurt the other player after all their creatures with flying are dead. From a flavor standpoint, maybe it just a super tall creature that crushes everything below and swats down creatures from the sky?

this is better, but Vigilance doesn't make a lot of sense. I think trampe + reach for 3/6 with additional ability for 5CMC is good enough anyway.

I just added Vigilance because that it can block creatures with flying AND destroy them. But yeah, that might be a little OP.
