Also, are the Xs meant to be in addition to the counters, or meant to state them?

First off, thanks for replying. I am not quite sure what you mean by wrong sub forum as this one is technical a card creation room.
Second, you would have to see the rest of the set to see changing game-play, it refers to the fact that the card styles require a different strategy to play based off of the new abilities I am creating.
Sorry about the X/X it is supposed to be referring to the creature's power toughness like in the other hydra cards but I will change that promptly. And finally, the blue hydra is part of my format changing cards.
I decided to improve Island by making its color identity black, disadvsntage is that it is restricted to Dimir+ decks but when you Hydroform or Rude Awakening etc. it cannot be targeted by Doom Blade or Snuff Out, a worthy upgrade.
That is a great idea, I like the principle of allowing lands to boost cards that are cast from the mana that is a nice upgrade as you stated. The ability is a bit confusing but I think I get the gist of it. Perhaps clarifying the ability would work.

does nobody here realize that this hydra needs a characteristic defining effect if it has */ as its P/T.
Look at nearly any other hydra, they usually are 0/0 and then have the +1/+1 counters added so they don't die as a state based effect.
Eg: Storm HydraXBU

Anyway I suggest this gets merged with the single card thread that is stickied at the top of this forum.
All of this is great and 0/0 will be added but everyone should realize that this thread is for making cards as much as it is for judging them. Anyway, the hydra is blue for a reason and will remain mono colored but please post ideas and don't keep judging my hydra which by the way is one of my favorites in my new set.

Wow, that's a weird way to react. The card isn't blue normally, and while you're free to put whatever you like in the set, you need to understand that it feels like a green card because that's what green does: Hydras, growing, and entering the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters.
I mean, it's akin to me saying this card is in my set, and I don't care what anyone says, because it's a personal favorite:

Remember, it's possible to make ANY effect make flavor-sense in ANY color if you try hard enough, but the color pie is worth respecting.

That's not what you're doing, though. New playing styles would mean brand new abilities, brand new mechanics, etc.
Bleeding abilities and creature types into other colors isn't creating new play styles, it's just making it easier to do stuff without playing multiple colors. That's dangerous on the whole.
How about making said hydra */* being equal to the number of instant and sorcery cards in all players' graveyard? It's less "green" yet still grows accordingly to played i & s. Pretty blue, me thinks. And by the way, i love the idea of a blue hydra.

I'm gonna regret asking this, I know it already, but how are you exiling all lands from libraries?
More to the point how are you returning them to libraries? Gonna suck if this guy gets shattered during the next turn.

1.This thread is meant for respectful critiques as well as posting cards so although my friends like it I want to see what everyone else thinks although that shouldn't take up the whole thread.
2.This is a place to post ideas, people are not just meant to say cool card but there should not be 11 comments just for the one card. This is a place of ideas not just comments. This thread is meant to show and comment but not go overkill and have posts heavily judging any one or two cards.
