the Monarch mechanic from Conspiracy Take the Crown
No doubt WotC has Silmarillion fans since Karametra, God of Harvests is pretty much Yavanna Kementári (Giver of Fruits, protector of plants, ordaining the harvests) almost down to the name.
Actually there's nothing of that sort. First of all, many myths all around the world have a goddess of harvest. Karametra's name and character is a combination of Demeter, Hera, and Hestia. where kara means beloved or caring, and metra means mother.
Magnetic Sphere (Rare) 9
Artifact
Construct (Each artifact you tap while casting this spell reduces its cost by 1.)
When Magnetic Sphere enters the battlefield and at the beginning of your upkeep, gain control of target artifact for as long as you control Magnetic Sphere.
Construct is identical to the new Aether Revolt mechanic Improvise. Improvise is a STUPID name for the mechanic. WotC needs to stop employing former Yu-Gi-Oh employees in the flavor department.
"Battlelands" already don't make sense because unless the other 5 are printed in "Ravnica the Third: Battle for Jace's Head" or something, "battle" means impressively nothing.
Doombringer's Thopter Wellspring has put flying onto Servo Schematic. One of the most fun cards of the Duel Deck: Faith vs. Science. Looking at this deck post-KLD will be fun.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

As of today's Amonkhet spoilers...I'd be surprised if I'm the only user here who thought of two-color cycling lands?
Though I bet none of us expected basic land types.
(Also, in my version, the cycling cost matched the mana the land produced, so e.g. the land that produced W or U would cost WU to cycle instead of just 2, to make them a non-strict upgrade over the Slippery Karst cycle.)

So did mine - and according to MaRo the version Design handed over to Development.

[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Well i never public posted it but Krenko was stolen from me. I was running a wort, Boggart Auntie Goblin tribal EDH deck. I wanted a card that could double my goblins. I was thinking of a creature. Non legendary, 2/2 and had the same ability as krenko (but also had haste)
Weehigh LieutenantWW
Creature – Human Soldier (R)
Other Human creatures you control get +1/+1 and have minimize. (They can’t be blocked by creatures with greater power.)
2/2
I think we all had Magus of thecrucible of worlds. Mine was a 2/2 for 2G, a la magus of the moon - a strong creature in it's own right. I toyed around with making it a 1/4 for 2G, but I figured that the ability to replay fetchlands each turn was so strong I wanted to give red the freedom to shock it. Is 2/3 fair? Probably, but it's not necessary to make this see play. Is anyone genuinely more interested in this as a 2/3 than a 2/2? I doubt it.
One of the common "responses" to card criticisms (either for real sets, or here in custom card creation) is that the critic is being unfair because "not every card should be playable", or "every card could be more powerful"; but I think these criticisms (while sometimes fair) are applied too liberally. Sometimes, a weak card is unnecessarily weak - a stronger card wouldn't warp any format and would open up more deckbuilding opportunities. Sometimes the opposite is true - a playable card is unnecessarily strong - a weaker version would play much the same role in all relevant formats. gray ogre magi are an excellent example; you're not really playing it for it's P/T, so why make it's P/T relevant in any substantive way. (You'll note that 2/2s can block 1/1s, but whether you should is interesting, so having 2 power and toughness on a magus does make you think and add to gameplay.)
I've also been toying around with a non-magus version that only let you play basic lands, since it'd actually require a little bit more effort to make it playable (the card support is there though...).
All else being equal, I think Maguses ought to be humans, but Ramunap Excavator is a naga. Because apparently someone at WOTC thought "People who like snakes are seriously on your tails about Naga not being snakes; let's make a staple Commander card into a Naga so that people never forget. From the same people that brought you Fatal Push.
In any case, I just wish Hour of Devastation designers loved magic enough to make this a Magus. I'm sorry, was there some "lore" barrier to magi being on a desert world, but non-snake snake people were loreriffic?
Raging Fanatic (Common) R
Creature – Human Warrior
1/1
Haste
Ascend 3RR(When this creature becomes untapped, you may pay its ascend cost. If you do, it becomes a 4/4 Angel with flying.)
Aurelia’s Faithful (Common) 1WW
Creature – Human Knight
2/3
Ascend 5WW(When this creature becomes untapped, you may pay its ascend cost. If you do, it becomes a 4/4 Angel with flying.)
For me, its Neheb, the Eternal. I had been experimenting with that exact second ability, for about a year now. Now that it actually exists, I feel so glad that I can actually start building a commander deck with him.

Also spelljack...except I believe I called it spellswipe and had it costing 4UU instead of 3UUU, but the wording was on point

Creature type Dinosaur. No feathers though, more of a scaly look.
