Time Paradog 3GU
Creature - Hound (mr)
Whenever a spell is cast from exile, put a put a token onto the battlefield that’s a copy of Time Paradog.
3/3
Suggestions? Originally it would only trigger with suspended cards, but I think this mostly fits the flavour.
I'm considering making it cost 1URG on the general principle that potentially endless shenanigans shouldn't be easy to cast, even if they only make vanilla hounds.

Heh. That's pretty amusing. I feel like this could be a rare but on the Misthollow Griffin principle, I guess mythic is "right" for it. Overall I like it and I think I'd like to build some kind of suspend-rebound deck around it.
In fact, it might be cool as a 1URG legend for Commander. You could stick Jhoira of the Ghitu in the deck and everything.

It would still explode itself.
Also, that leads to an exponential amount of copies... one becomes two, then two becomes four, and more... that's very powerful. I'd up the cost of this to :3mana::symu::symr::symg:.

How is Rift Elemental relevant? This still has little place being red. ryzorz's version makes a whole load more sense being red and being legendary, if only because it fits the current interpretation of that wedge.
Rift Elemental isn't about messing with the exile zone, it's about speeding up time, which is something that's definitely red.
Anyway, this has Mishollow Griffin syndrome; it's obviously a Johnny card, but the payoff is pretty weak. This one is a lot better in that the right combo can make a ton of copies at once, but you're still only getting a bunch of 3/3s.

Not sure I like the pointless Legendary status on him, as it's purely to let him be a Commander. Perhaps make it relevant with something to the effect of "as long as you control all permanents named ~." At least it makes the Legendary have SOME effect.
I agree. I dislike lmaking him egendary solely for that prupose as a premise, particularly in this case because it requires jumping through a LOT of hoops to make this work. And not sure "all permanents you control..." works as it requires you ditch all your permanents just to be able to duplicate him, though.
Also not convinced that red has any place in this ability.
With Splinter Twin and kiki Jiki red has quite important cards that put copies on the field.
Blue is also a lot about copy and clones, while green is in general the token color and has the kind of effects that copy the card in a way that the creature splits itself into 2 copies.
Well overall this being RUG seems absolute right, this is the card Riku is also in color, its about "copies" and cares for spells, a perfect combination of a RUG card that actual hits what the colors share.
Making it Legendary isnt important, but sometimes you have to do it, if its purpose is to be a Commander card (Mimeoplasmn isnt really legendary aswell, it copies stuff).

If it is going to be legendary and create copies of itself, then this is the way to do it. Wording from Brothers Yamazaki:
If you control all permanents named CARDNAME on the battlefield, the "legend rule" doesn't apply to them.
If one of the tokens is Threatened though, then they all die. And it still has the problem of exponential growth. Vanilla tokens would be better. There are already 1/1 green Hound tokens from Mongrel Pack. Maybe fitting in around them with something like Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder:
Time Paradog2URG Legendary Creature - Hound
CARDNAME's power and toughness are each equal to the number of Hounds you control.
Whenever you cast a spell from exile, put X 1/1 green Hound creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is that spell's converted mana cost.
*/*
That is possibly way too many tokens, but it might be okay given how weak it starts. Maybe just a set number like two or three tokens for each spell from exile.
Do you think it would work better if the copying triggered from putting copies of spells onto the stack (replicate, storm) and/or casting from other zones? (commanders, flashback)
As far as making it legendary goes, I can see how that could damage legendary as a concept, but I'm still keen to give it some kind of odd Yamazaki type ability. I mean, it is a Paradog.
If it can't create copies of itself, Silvercut's version is the best alternative.

At the end of the day I feel there aren't enough cast from exile cards to make this work, but I enjoyed reading the thought experiment.
I don't know, there are quite a few mechanics that cast things from exile; suspend, rebound, cascade, cipher, hideaway, epic (though those two are a bit of a stretch), and don't forget Madness technically counts as casting from exile as well.

Just for support no.

In terms of commander, this grows pretty dirty fast, and with commander damage this might be too much.
That comes the question. If a commander like that copies itself, is commander damage counted for all of them ? Or just for the actual card itself. Not too sure about that (as if all copies count for commander dmg, that could be super nasty).

I still would aim for a basic p/t size to keep it simpel enough.
The card is nuts enough in how quickly it gets out of hand.
Just 2 spells played with it, and you are in crazy numbers, thats allready 4 copies, which means a basic 3/3 size might be much safer and more straight forward, to focus the actual cards idea.
Producing much more smaller tokens is similiar. Its just "too much" the card does, while its basic idea IS the exponential growth.
The purpose of the basic card seems to be exactly that, get copies that themself copy themself.
Adding to much variable things to the card doesnt fullfill that purpose.
Printed the card as followed and just played a little with it in a Rebound "Rikku" deck that has tokens, doubling season and all that stuff.

That was fair enough, adding a variable growth wouldnt really help it, just makes it much more annoying to count the "countless" numbers of this copies (you quickly get a ton, which means like 1024
Honestly I don't think this card is red at all. Personally, this feels mono blue to me if all it does is copy itself, and green if it makes a bunch of tokens like Slivercut's version. Red kinda feels tacked on just to justify the weirdness of this and to make it a better commander.
