Inspired by the fake card known as Ominous Eclipse, I shall make my own version that I consider to be balanced in terms of its mana cost.
Ominous Eclipse
Casting Cost:2WWBB
Sorcery
Destroy all creatures; they cannot be regenerated. Each player reveals his or her hand and discards all creature cards that are revealed this way.
What does everyone have to say about this card? Does its higher mana cost make it more balanced than the fake card, which had a mana cost of only 4?

“Those who would trade their freedoms for security will have neither.”-Benjamin Franklin
“When the people fear the government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”-Thomas Jefferson
“A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of its user.”-Theodore Roosevelt
“Patriotism means to stand by one's country; it does not mean to stand by one's president.”-Theodore Roosevelt
More balanced of course. But still too good. This, in a deck with good removal and some non-creature win conditions, is auto-win against too many Creature-based strategies. Having viable Creature-based strategies is the most important thing for Magic.
I guess it could be balanced at 7. I'd cost it at 8, but then why bother printing it...
Maybe cause the spells to reveal all player's hands, then the spell controller chooses which mode to activate. Destroy all creatures OR discard all creature cards.

I have a suspicion that your card has the original wording of Life's Final. Sans the anachronistic regeneration-clause.
I'm not certain it's too oppressive at six mana - especially once you allow regeneration and have an environment that can use the loophole.
It's just a little questionable in RtR-block - we have so many creature-centric mechanics in this block that this spell would be quiet much of an answer.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Or how about Murder+Surgical Extraction? (Destroy target creature. Search its owner's everything for cards with that name and exile them.) Except, I think that's a card already, but I can't seem to remember the name...
To be clearer, I think this card may be balanced at 6 or 7 mana, just like Stone Rain is balanced at :2mana::symr:. And just like Stone Rain, I feel strongly that a card with this effect shouldn't exist in modern Magic.

This is, likely, why the closest we'll ever get to wrath, which hasn't been printed in six-and-a-half years, is Day of Judgment, which, itself, is eighteen months out of date.
