I'm sure the artifact could cost 1 less and it would be fine, I mean its already restrictive that it has to attack each turn. The land is just bad... I would never want to play that... I mean 1 mana cycle is cool, but I would not play it ever as a land.
I think it was Onslaught that had lands like that, Cycling U on an island that came into play tapped, and the others in the cycle of course. I dont know how well a colorless version would work though, seems balanced to me. Easier to cycle but doesn't produce colors, seems alright, wouldnt play it myself but thats beside the point.

I'd play the land if it was an artifact. Good way to pump goyf early on eh? Not that he needs any help honestly but as is I'd say it's fine as a substitute Blasted landscape.
I kind of like this, but it's way too close to the original onslaught cycle lands to play. I can't think of a deck that would play this card - since the original cyclers produce colored mana and they have plenty of other cheap cyclers. Maybe an Astral Slide Lightning rift deck would play this. Maybe.
Right now it sounds like people like the card, but they, "would never play it - just cycle it". That means you can up the power of the card while it's in play.
For some reason - this card catches my interest far more than it's predecesor. I start thinking about how I can fit it into my decks, not why I shouldn't.
Here it is.
Empty Landscape
Land
T: add 1 to your mana pool
Cycling 1
Isn't that more apealing? Colorles mana is enough of a drawback by itself. Fun cycling cards should be worth playing sometimes as well as cycling. There's other ways to make people willing to drop it into play. Like letting it produce colored mana, or maybe just coming into play untapped. Also, the 1 cycling is simple but it's not inspiring. I like the idea of cycling for a lower cost, so why not make the cost even lower but throw a drawback on? One that can be abused by the right deck?

Cycling - Discard a card.
C'mon - alternate cycling costs are awesome! And there's lots more possibilities where this came from.
