Which online draft simulator has the best bots? I've been using Top8 and like the interface, but it feels like the bots get far too attached to the colors of their first few picks. The others I know of are draftsim and tapped-out, but I don't know if they're any better.
Well, I can speak for Draftsim at least. The bots are in a speculation phase throughout the first pack into the first few picks of the second pack. The cards are weighted by power level, so the AI is taking the most powerful card usually. But as they get more and more cards of a given color, they get a higher "color bonus" that is added on top of the power level of the card.
That said, if they open an absurd bomb in pack 2 that's a different color, they will take it and it will play heavily into the color decision they make when they decide to commit to colors later in the pack.
You can view this happening by clicking the "Suggestions" button when you do a draft and you can see the weighting occurring.
Hi there - bit late to the party on this post however thought I'd drop by and mention that we've just released the ability to draft online at Untap.in.
Our bots are learning and improving by each and every draft played on the platform and need to gather all the data we can!
Feel free to give it a crack and tell us what you think
I've been drafting GRN using draft sim, and while it feels ok most of the time, I get weirded out when I'm on the 4-5th pick, and there's still a Planewalker or Niv Mizzet available. Sometimes twice, or a shock-lands.
Thanks! While something like Niv Mizzet is a great card, it's extremely restrictive! It's not like you can take it and easily splash it into your deck if you're only one of the colors. It asks a lot of even a blue red deck and there might even be some blue red decks that couldn't cast it on time if they're too aggressive. If the card were more flexible, it would probably result in a higher rating. But the casting cost makes the color weighting a really strong consideration.
It is quite good and it proposes suggestions on the pick if you want to. It works great on mobile and you can even draw a first hand. Moreover you can resume your draft even if you reload the page! Real fun!
Dan, If I can make a suggestion for your layout? Not being able to sort multiple ways makes it difficult to see everything. Like I'd love to be able to sort Spread and rarity, and not everything stacked on top of each other.
Thanks for the suggestion. This is on the list to be reworked eventually. If you use the mobile version you actually can do this already. Appreciate the feedback

Monetary value for cards changes all the time. I discuss that here a little more: https://draftsim.com/faq.php
