Spanning Livian Port's entire coastline, Livian Docks is the home to over two hundred boats, from fishing boats to cruise ships. The docks are without a doubt the most active place in the entire city.
The Livian Ferry comes and goes about every three days, stopping to pick up any passengers wishing to travel to another part of Risin.
About Frox: for nearly 10 years, Frox has been helping women look good and feel great in easy-fit, mix-and-match, and work-to-weekend with just a few pieces by helping them make the right choices when it comes to clothing and accessories.
Jerrin steps off of the ferry that he chartered from Hoenn. Tilting his head back, he takes a big whiff of the air, and coughs lightly. "Risin smells a lot like fish from here," he says to himself.
He takes out a pokeball, and pops it open, it emits a flash of red light and a large brown fish appears in the water next to the dock. Jerrin drops to one knee to talk to it, "What do you think? Does it look like a land of opportunity to you?"
"Canth!" The fish responds gruffly.
"Yeah, you like it now, but once we get inside, there's not going to be nearly this much water."
"Reliiiiii!" The pokemon sputters back.
"Fine, be an optimist," Jerrin smiles, "you're probably right anyway." He climbs to his feet, "What should we do first, some training? Or maybe check out the nearest gym? We've got to lead one someday you know."
"Relicanth."
"Good choice," and the pokemon is sucked back into the pokeball with a red beam of light.

As the Relicanth was puled back into its ball, a small voice came form behind Jerrin.
"Oh wow, you a trainer, mister?" A young boy, looking to be about 5 years old starts pulling on the bottom edge of your shirt. "That's so cool! I wanna be one when I grow up too!"
A second voice joins in, "Jonathan! Leave the young man alone. I'm so sorry, he really likes Pokemon." An older gentlemam approaches and takes the child in his arms. Jonathan climbed onto the man's shoulders, and started fiddling with the collar of the white labcoat the man was wearing. "You look new to the area. I'm Professor Foxwood, is there anything I can help you with?" he said, extending his hand to Jerrin.
"There probably is, actually," Jerrin says, taking his handshake, "I just got here from Hoenn, and I'm going to take the gym challenge. So I need to learn as much as I can about Risin and the gyms in it. Plus I'll need to start capturing a good team of pokemon to take with me."
Jerrin then favors Jonathan with a wink, "Being a trainer takes a lot of hard work, but I should be well rewarded for it. Why do you want to be a trainer?" he says to the young boy.

"I wanna be like my daddy! He was a trainer, too, until he started wearing this jacket," Jonathan said, tugging again at the collar of Foxwood's labcoat.
"Hmm, the Gym Challenge, you say? You might be starting in the wrong town for that, actually. The Gym here hasn't had a leader in a few years now, so it's been closed until a new one comes along. There are two nearby, though. One in Osiers, and another near my main lab in Newbloom Bay." Foxwood straightened his collar before he continued. "Now, as for starting your training, I can help you with that. I have a small research facility nearby. It's rather empty at the moment, but a few boxes of supplies just shipped down, and there might be something of use to you in them. Would you like to come along?"
"Well, I think I need to take a very close look at that gym, I might try to take it over some day." Jerrin says, "But your research facility sounds like a great first step."

Reese walks off the boat onto the dock. He decided he better start getting to know his Treeko. He cast her out of the Poke'ball, then put the Poke'ball back in his pocket. He wondered what he should do first. This is the first time out of Kanto. He looks about. "Hmm..."
As Reese looked about, he saw another trainer nearby. He seemed to be in a conversation with a man wearing a labcoat and a small child on his shoulders. The child looked over in his direction. "Look, daddy, more trainers!"
--------------------------
@ KoolKoal:
The Professor smiled. "Well, follow me then and I'll take you to the new lab." He started to turn when Jonathan yelled and pointed in the direction of another person. "Look, daddy, more trainers!"
--------------------------
@ both:
The Professor waved the new trainer over to where the group was standing. "Hi there, we were just about to go to my lab. You're welcome to join us, I might have some useful supplies for new trainers."
He thought about it for a few seconds and decided, "Hey, why not?" He urged Treeko to follow him as he walked towards the profession. "Hi, my name is Reese!"
"Hello Reese, I'm Professor Foxwood. Now if you will both follow me, I'll see what I can dig up to help you two out on your quests." He took Jonathan of his shoulders and set hom on the ground. "You run off and go to your mother, Daddy has some business to attend to." Jonathan just nodded and ran into the store, singing a nonsensical song as he went. The Professor turned toward the south end of town, and began walking.
When you both are ready, you can move to the Lab thread in Livian
Just before the continent-crossing ship leaves, someone emerges from behind a stack of boxes and hurries down the gangplank, looking around for pursuers. Darion wanted to save his money for when he got to Risin, so he hadn't paid his fare...
Once he's sure no one is chasing him off the boat, Darion stops and looks around at the new city he'd come to.
Livian Port is like any seaside town. People mill about with their daily routines, though there is one trainer randomly dashing about the buildings. There's a second ferry that cuts across the bay, a beaten path exiting to the north end of town, buildings of all sorts throughout.
Mason comes across a pair of Officers preparing a resue boat. The two are hurrying to pack blankets, life preservers and some basic food into their craft before launching. Several crates are still on the dock waiting. He can overhear "Something about a Gyarados on a rampage," "Could have been anything, really. Aren't there shallow reefs underwater? Maybe it went off course and hit one," "Reefs don't explain the roar." the conversation continues like that, punctuated by some grunting and the thud of crates on the floor of the boat.
Off in the distance, there's smoke rising from what looking like sinking wreckage of a ferryboat, and unusual splashing from something BIG.
Is it ok if Sneasel follows me around outside its ball ala Ash's
Pikachu? If not, he shall remain in his ball like a good boy.
Stepping onto dry land, Atticus Quay felt the breeze off of the water. It was so different here than in his hometown of Snowpoint. It was actually warm here-Atticus had never really even been anywhere other than Snowpoint, so it came as a bit of a shock.
"Well, I may not be used to the weather, but hopefully it won't hinder my battling skills!"
Going to his belt, Atticus plucked the only Poke'ball he had from it. The one containing his best friend, the Sneasel which he had found injured and helped to heal.
"Come on out buddy! Let's see how you like the weather!"
Popping out of its ball in a flash of red light, Sneasel seemed as shocked about the weather as Atticus had been, but was in good spirits nonetheless.
"Well, shall we see what trouble we can get into?" Atticus asked, grinning.
Sneasel returned Atticus's smile and responded with an affirmatory "Snea!"
@ Hat: The wake of a police boat rippled through the docks as it left. On the main land, people mill about the town on their daily routines. Children run around playing, trainer young and old gather at the Pokemon Center, and a local newspaper boasts a headline of "Professor Foxwood opens Lab in Livian!"
Well, since you didn't say no, I'll assume he can wander around with me.
Atticus looked around, taking time to pinpoint all important-looking areas.
"Well, I guess the first place we should go is the Poke'mon Center. They always have maps somewhere in them, and we might even find a trainer or two to battle. Sound ok, Sneasel? Eh-where are you?"
Sneasel was already running toward the Poke'mon Center, apparently after having the same thought as Atticus had moments before.
"Ugh, such a handful. Guess that's what I get for saving you!" Atticus laughed as he ran behind his partner.
Oh, right. Yeah, Sneasel out-of-ball is fine. I think there's one or two people who do it. No worries there . . . . and you're free to move to the Center thread anytime
Mankey and Lime both appeared to be startled by the announcement over the intercom. They both sat in meditation as part of their training. They got a lot of meditation in since their departure from Johto. Neither of them could do actual training due to each others sea-sickness. They couldn't wait to arrive on land.
"Well Mankey, into the pokeball you go," Said lime. Mankey resisted at first, but then realized he would probably be less seasick inside of the pokeball. Lime put the pokeball inside of the pocket in his vest.
As Lime stood up, boat came to a halt and was quickly docked. Lime Grabbed his backpack which was suprisingly light for such a trip. It contained a few extra Gi and an heavier outfit, in case it got cold.
He then stepped off the boat, eager to start his adventure.
The people that play legacy / vintage always amuse me. They want their formats to be represented more. They want more tournaments. But when anyone suggests allowing more people access to the formats by reprinting cards, the same people start screaming about the reprint policy.
With the sun shining brightly, it was no wonder that Aiden was smiling.
The weather had been choppy on his way from the island, his old hometown far behind him. Rain had battered the boat almost halfway through the trip, forcing him and his Growlithe to hide under the deck in one of the small cabins. He hated being cooped up; he felt like a sardine on the ship like that.
Out in the sun, though...it was nothing but clear blue skies. Up in the air, various flying Pokemon echoed their own feelings about the weather, circling around the area in such casual manners that it almost seemed like the entire world was ready to just kick back and relax.
Aiden, as well, was leaning on one of the side railings to the ferry, his Growlithe laying on the deck next to him, a small blue ball inbetween its jaws, playful growls escaping its throat as its entire world seemed to revolve around trying to chew his way through the object. Looking at his partner briefly, he could only smile, before turning his head out towards the water again. The ferry was just now pulling up to the docks of Livian Port, finishing its final maneuvers before slowing down to a gentle rocking motion, workers tying it to the platform and shouting to each other.
"Guess it's time to get goin', ol' buddy," he said, bending down to rub Growlithe behind the ears - a favorite spot of the Pokemon's, which resulted in a wag of his tail and what closely resembled a bark.
Picking up the small ball, Aiden tossed it into one of the pockets of his backpack and slung it over his shoulder, casually making his way over to the docking platform where he could disembark. A cheerful smile directed itself towards one of the female workers standing to direct everyone off the ferry, and with Growlithe padding just a couple steps behind him, they made their first steps onto the region of Risin rather uneventfully.
Looking around him, he rubbed his chin thoughtfully, while Growlithe - his excitement pent up on the trip across the water - ran around his legs in small circles, chasing something only he could apparently see. "Now...where to go from here?"
The female worker blushed slightly, smiling back at Aiden and his Growlithe.
Along the docks, the police boat had returned. Two officers, a handful of crew wearing ferryboat uniforms, and what looked like a pair of Rangers in wetsuits disembarked. There was mixed conversations about the battles that had recently taken place, mutterings about the dangers of Gyarados, concern about the health of the crewmen . . . .
There was also a flyer attached to a post on shore, indicating that Professor Foxwood's lab in Livian had opened, and the general direction to get across town.
Raising his eyebrows, Aiden noticed the Rangers dressed up in their wetsuits, talking to some of the officers. His smile had diminished, slightly, as the sight of a Ranger left him thinking about home. Growlithe looked up at him, whining slightly as it tilted its own head up at him, before pushing against his trainer's leg slightly with his nose.
Aiden looked down, as if snapping out of his thoughts, and gave Growlithe another pat. "I know, bud...home's a far away place now."
Putting his hands in his pockets, he ignored the police for now, knowing that whatever was being dealt with didn't involve him, and instead started walking across the docks towards the mainland. A gentle, ocean breeze had picked up, leaving the air just barely chilly enough to justify him wearing his hunter green hoodie, black denim shorts not quite fitting in with the surroundings. His tennis shoes made little noise as he crossed the platforms, curiosity averting his gaze back and forth, until he stopped at the post with the flyer.
Reading the words silently to himself, he looked down at Growlithe. "Sounds like this Professor guy seems like a good person to talk to, eh?"
"Grow!" was his partner's response, as it wagged its tail happily, tongue hanging loosely from his jaws.
Turning back to the flyer to get a map, he memorized the directions towards the lab and, without much discussion otherwise, turned down the path to head over there.
Spencer looked around once he reached Risin. "Well, this cetainly looks promising, eh Gastly? I hope it's better than it was in Lavendar Town." Spencer looked towards Gastly. Or rather to where he thought Gastly was. Spencer saw nothing where Gastly should have been. "Gastly?" Looking around casually, Spencer searched for some commotion.
"Looks like he got bored." Spencer waited a few seconds. 1...2...3... After ten seconds, Spencer heard what he was waiting for, a loud scream coming from the boat they just got off. Turning toward the noise, Spencer saw Gastly floating towards him giggling the whole way. Heh, he couldn't wait for me.
"Alright, no more pranks for a bit. We have to get our supplies first. I don't want us getting kicked out yet." Spencer was trying his best to hold in his laughter that was dwelling up from his Gastly's little prank. He noticed just then a person from the ship running around searching frantically for something. "Haha, you got that person good. Let's get out of here before they notice us." Running from the ship, Spencer saw a flyer that caught his eye. Judging that they were far enough away, Spencer decided to give a better look. Let's go check out this professor.
And with that he followed the directions to the lab, Gastly floating behind.
