The intimidation tactis worked, stopping the Torchic in its tracks. The little fire bird starts to growl, appearing to have been interrupted during one of it's meals as a worm it was pursuing tullens into the dirt and escapes.
As the Trapinch clamps down on the other side, the Torchic manages to get a good pecking on ts opponent before being hit with a pokeball. The bird disappears inside, and the ball does a bit of wiggle-and-blink on the ground . . .
. . and then softly chimes. Congratulations! You caught a Torchic!
With your new pokemon safe in its ball, you move north to find yourself in a beautiful forest...
You start searching through bushes, trees and tall grass, for pokemon and you find a wild Pachirisu running through the branches of a nearby tree.
What would you like to do?
"Cool. I haven't seen that pokemon before. Come on out Fenghuang and get over here Yahoola. Okay, lets use the pokedex to find out what moves Fenghuang can learn and to find out what type of pokemon that is."
"Okay, so it says that that it is a Pachirisu." Well, I can't have Fenghuang fight that pokemon, she's still recovering from the battle from earlier, and Yahoola might be a bit strong for this one. "Yahoola, run over to that pokemon and see if you can get it to come here, lets see if we might be able to get us a new friend without having to have anyone get hurt. If it doesn't attack you but doesn't want to talk we'll challenge it. If it attacks you, don't hold back and use bite.
"Pinch." Yahoola runs off to talk to the Pachirisu.

Billy can't help but think that it was worth a try before calling out,
"Well Yahoola, I guess we're going to have to do this the old fashioned way. Yahoola charge Pachirisu. When your within range of using bite,
stop, then cut to the right and bite its side. We need to avoid getting hit by that pokemon. It seems fast."
OOC: OK, I have two different responses to the Pachirisu using bide. Which on I use depends on if my character can tell if it is using Bide.
If Billy can tell that it is using bide here is what he will do.
"Okay, Yahoola return. Fenghuang, it's time for you to come out." As the Torchic materializes from the pokeball Billy yells, "Fenghuang, be careful and don't get to close, Pachirisu is trying to store up some power. I want you to use growl on it.
The Torchic runs by the electric type and as she passes she growls, "Torrrch!"
OOC: If Billy can't tell that Pachirisu is using bide he will
"Yahoola keep up the assault. Dodge behind Pachirisu and bite its tail, so that it can't get away.
The Trapinch runs behind Pachirisu, and tries to bite down on the tail before its opponent can get turned around.
OOC: I would say Billy can reasonably guess that its using Bide.
The Torchic's growl seemed to shake the Pachirsu's resolve a bit, but it then turned and unleashed all the strength it had been building up in a flurry of fur and fangs at the Torchic. (released Bide, has been two opponent moves)
"Tor, torchic," replies the small pokemon, as she gets up after the powerful attack. As he sees the resolve of his pokemon, Billy gets an idea.
"Fenghuang, I need you to run as fast as you can passed Pachirisu and use growl. I want you to keep doing that until either you can't any more or until Pachirisu gets within range of attacking you. When that happens, I want you to bolt away from Pachirisu and get back here."
Before Billy can call out another command, the Pachirisu makes full contact with Fenghuang knocking the Torchic back hard into a tree, luckily the growls had weakened the attack enough for her to barely stay up, before almost collapsing.
"Fenghuang, that's enough. You did a great job. Return." After his friend was back safe in her Pokeball, Billy grabs Yahoola's ball and tosses it out fast.
"Yahoola, right now, I know your a little tired, but Fenghuang needs to rest. I think its time to switch our strategies. Fenghuang is faster than you, and that Pachirisu is faster than her, so having you trying to out maneuver it will probably only get you hurt. So, we are going to use strength, because your the strongest. What I want you to do is charge Pachirisu, when you get close enough use bite and don't let go. Even if it fights back hard do not let go. Then I need you slam it into a tree." Billy did not want to hurt the Pachirisu, but if he could not find a way to end it quickly so that he could catch it or otherwise defeat it, the pokemon would surely use bide and seriously hurt or knockout Yahoola.
"Trap, PINCH!!" roared the ground type, as he charged the Pachirisu, showing only resolve and no mercy at having learned the electric type had hurt his friend, Fenghuang.
It took a couple of minutes for Trapinch to manage a hold on the squirrel that ran around it, but once the jaws locked down it was over. Pachirisu was thrown against a tree with considerable force, knocking some loose bark off the trunk, and it collapsed to the ground. Clearly it still had a strong spirit, because it kept trying to stand up again to continue the fight. (basically 1 hp left if you wish to capture, either way it's over)
At seeing the Pachirisu's attempts to stand back up, Billy decided that he still wanted it on his team. Anything that can take a slam like that and stay concious deserved his respect.
"Hey, Yahoola, back off of it," Billy says as he grabs a Pokeball from a hidden pocket in his hoodie. He says, "This one, is one of us now," as he tosses the ball toward the electric type.
"Trap." Is the only thing Yahoola says as a red beam takes his fallen foe into the Pokeball.
Now to wait and see if Pachirisu can still fight its way out of this, is the only thought in Billy's head as he watches the ball close.
As the ball finally made that chime, that beautiful sound that meant that he was one step closer to his goal, Billy could not help but say, "Awesome," before walking up to and picking up the ball.
"Yahoola, you did a great job and need to rest. Return." As his best friend was wrapped in the red light and transferred into the Pokeball, Billy set out to return to Shire Town to get his friends back up and strong.
OOC: That was a really fun battle, that Pachirisu was semi-epic and I've got the perfect nickname for him.
With your question anwsered, you head out of the lab looking for "Trouble" aka another pokemon trainer. Just outside the Lab you see
What would you like to do?
As Billy exits the lab he spots a fellow trainer and walks up to her.
"Why hello miss. My name is Billy. Would you care to partake in a friendly battle? I noticed that you only have one Pokemon, therefore it would only be fair for it to be one versus one. If you accept, I shall use only the first friend I made on my short journey, my Trapinch Yahoola." As Billy finishes his introductions, he releases the Ant Pit Pokemon from his Pokeball.
As Yahoola appears from out of the red glow, he gives forth a deep roar in challenge, "TttRRrrr."
"Sure, sounds like fun. Let's go Meowth, start with your bite." Picnicker Kathy released Meowth and started the battle. Meowth was fast, streaking in with its teeth bared and ready to chomp down.
As the Meowth dashes in to deliver its Bite, a powerful force comes over Billy as he yells, "Yahoola, this is our first battle against a trainer and our first chance to show others how strong you are. Lets counter their Bite with one of our own. Yahoola use Bite on Meowth when it gets within range!"
As the Meowth closes in with its Bite, Yahoola reacts with a Bite of his own and "Trap. Trapinch. PINCH!" that if anyone there could have translated, would have equated to "You call that a Bite. That's not a Bite. THIS IS A BITE!"
Meowth and Yahoola were locked in a struggle of epic proportions (well, as epic as the young pokemon could muster) before Kathy called out "Break and scratch!!" Meowth broke the lock between the two, and tried to slip underneath the Trapinch and rake its underside with sharp claws.

Yahoola moves foward quickly and latches onto the small fire pokemon's wing with a powerful grip.

"Yahoola, quick let go and latch onto its other side using Bite."
The Trapinch follows his trainers orders and bites down on the Torchic's leg.
