The gust of wind hit Taillow, sending it towards the ground as it jostled the Flying pokemon out of the area. The Taillow hit the ground and rolled one, then twice, before managing to stop itself with its wings and feet.
"You okay, Taillow?" Ian's voice was concerned.
"Tail!" Its chest puffed up in anger, trying to brush it off. It wasn't about to be bested by this Pidgey.
"Alright, charge in with another Peck - keep it from mounting an offense!"
Both Ian and Taillow were ready for the second one. "Taillow, roll to the side!"
Taillow chirped, already in motion tucking its left wing near its body, causing it to roll to the side of the swirling gust of wind, its forward momentum still pushing it towards the Pidgey as it continued its attack.
The attack was a direct hit, the momentum Taillow picked up from the gust giving a little extra force to the peck. Pidgey was knocked from the sky, and had trouble taking flight again. It tried to stir up some sand and dirt to obscure itself. (Sand-attack, hp red)
OOC: No sooner than we get done with one battle does another one start...! Didn't find anything on the newest update, though, so maybe you'll catch a break from me after this one.
"We're gonna try and catch that Oddish, Hoothoot," Ian whispered down to it, pointing forward. It turned its head and flapped its wings in understand. "Ready?"
"Hoot!"
"Alright, start with a Hypnosis, see if we can catch it by surprise."
Hoothoot, being at such-close range and with its head already close to the Oddish, had no defense against the Sleep Powder. Its eyes drooped for a long moment before drifting off into Slumber.
Ian sighed, holding his face in his hands, before looking back up and calling out towards Hoothoot in an attempt to wake it up. "Wake up, Hoothoot! Keep it together!"
Even with Oddish's prodding, it seemed as if Hoothoot was fully determined to take a nap. It didn't stir on Oddish's attack, though it didn't seem to be very effective. Ian knew that being a Flying-type, Hoothoot had a natural advantage against Oddish, but that didn't mean it was invincible.
Hoothoot stirred finally, its eyes blinking. Its head tilted slightly as it stared down at Oddish, obviously trying to figure out what was going on. Ian's voice cut through the confusion. "Hoothoot, Peck!"
Its wings flapped suddenly as it shot forward, beak on the offensive.
The peck landed solidy, knocking Oddish into the ground once again. The little grassy pokemon tried to burp up some acid, but it was clear that it was partially an attack, and partially due to its current physical condition. (hp red)
Hoothoot avoided most of the acid, the majority landing short in front of it. The rest landed on its lower body, causing slight pain to the Flying-type as it flapped its wings in protest.
"Hoothoot, fall back!" Ian called out, reaching to grab another Pokeball. 'A Grass-type would be a nice inclusion,' he thought to himself, though he wasn't sure yet if he'd stick with it. Still, best to have it along just in case.
He reached back, aimed, and threw the Pokeball at Oddish.
Both Ian and Skorupi looked towards the Hoppip, and Ian sighed inwardly. Of course, the next Pokemon he found would be a Flying type. 'Still, there's no reason not to catch it...' he thought.
He looked down at Skorupi. "You ready?"
"Sko-ru!" It lowered itself down into a fighting position, claws clattering together.
"Alright then," he replied, turning to face the Hoppip completely. "Start off by getting in close for a Poison Sting!"
Hoppip made a very odd display of splashing about randomly. The process did make it a bit harder to hit, with a few less stings contacting its bouncing body. (hp yellowish)
Ian tilted his head curiously. Why wasn't it fighting back? Even Skorupi had taken a couple of steps back, as if unsure whether to expect some sort of counterattack. 'Nothing to do but keep on the offensive, though.'
"Skorupi, Bite! Keep it on its toes!"
It raised its stinger up, charging in with teeth and claws.

Pidgey tried to whip up another gust to defend itself from the attack.

Squinting through the sand, he reached back, aimed, and threw it for all he was worth at the Pidgey.

Skorupi was keeping up pace, transitioning from its teeth and claws to its stinger with little effort as it attacked from another angle.
