The stadium and racetrack are built around a large canyon. Half the track is at the top of the canyon cliff, and half is down in the canyon's bed. The stadium seats approximately 70,000 people. Tall, strong guard rails prevent Pokémon from falling all the way down the canyon cliff while racing along the clifftop.
Hrod, Raptor, and I decided Garchomp's okay for Overland, as well. I'll give you Overland should you decide to go that route. Garchomp is probably better overall in the air, though. Make your decision apparent through your post of Rai and Garchomp at the starting line. Once you decide, I'll post Obstacle 1.
Rai takes to the track with Garchomp, fresh out of his flying lesson with Victoria. However, instead he chose the land track, noticing the greater number of entries when he returned to the track. "Let`s do this Garchomp!" exclaims Rai as Garchomp roars. They prepare to begin the trial...
Edit: Change to Overland, Amateur Class (stats scaled down).
ooc: It's for the most part the same track aerial and overland, just a few differences.
As Garchomp took to the line, the stadium scoreboards lit up Ryoma's current performance.
"READY?"
The lights above the start/finish line begin illuminating left to right, moving down the rainbow starting with a deep red. They changed from red to orange to yellow...
"GO!" That and the lights turning green were Ryoma's signals for Garchomp to tear forward across the track.
Obstacle 1: The track opens up with a gentle left turn along the stadium walls. The track's width increases and decreases periodically, but remains wide enough to accommodate at least three-wide traffic.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
The light turns green and Rai and Garchomp speed away from the starting line. Rai feels a thrill as Garchomp increases its speed. "Go, Garchomp! Give it all you've got!" Rai says encouragingly.
(ooc: I imagined Garchomp swimming across the ground's surface as though it were water. Hope you don't mind.)
The few hundred people watching Rai's trial were amazed at the speed at which Garchomp came off the line. They rarely got to see dragons in races, let alone the infamous land dragon species of Pokémon. The two carved a path through the earth track as though it were the surface of Avalon Bay. A roar came from the north end as the participants approached a narrow gap in the track walls.

Garchomp, at Ryoma's command, eased up just long enough to right his trajectory before swimming forward again, shooting through the narrow portion of the track with little effort after that. It didn't widen to anywhere near where it was before the narrow gap, but at least it wasn't practically single file.
Obstacle 3: The track widens but not by much--anything more than two-wide traffic is just about impossible. A lazy, uphill 90-degree right turn follows the stadium walls, right below one of three skyboxes the facility features. Not a tough turn, but the narrow track makes the penalty for misjudging it steep.

The track opened up a bit. Rai pushed Garchomp to go a little faster but held him back from full speed. "Careful on the turn, but you can push it a bit more!"
Garchomp passed from apex to apex with little effort, with technique out of a textbook. The dragon-type grazed the walls but never actually touched them. One of the officials standing by the north corner looked amazed.
Obstacle 4: The track remains narrow for a series of lazy S-curves--not hard to take, and one of the best places to make a passing run on the upper half. If a Pokémon does take a spill here, though, it can be difficult to recover from being on the outside of one of the curves.

Rai was impressed at Garchomp's fluidity in taking the turn. He reveled in the smooth grace of it.
Confident, Rai said: "Push it, Garchomp! Give it your all!" Garchomp put on an extra burst of speed, gliding across the surface at breakneck speed attacking the curves.
ooc: Adding the fluff for this later, a little busy atm.
The Garchomp's powerful motion threatened to send Ryoma flying when it adjusted itself at the turn's apex, staying for the most part centered otherwise. The force behind tearing a small trench into the track's surface didn't help matters, either. As long as their strength held out, they'd put on quite a performance at this rate.

Obstacle 5: The track finally starts to show its true colors here. Its widening is designed to lull riders into a false relief, as it is quickly followed by a pair of switchback 120-degree turns. It is entirely possible for less thick-skinned racers and Pokémon to wipe out completely on this pair of tough turns.
Garchomp took the curve at full speed with ease. Rai held on tight.
Rai then saw the upcoming curves and prepared to slow Garchomp a lot. "Garchomp slow down for these curves, dig in with your claws to get more traction!" Garchomp dug his claws further into the ground, greatly slowing it but giving it excellent grip to the track.
It sure didn't look like Garchomp slowed much, and it didn't feel like it, either. When he dug his long claws into the ground at the beginning of the turn, he shifted his weight practically on a dime. One side of Rai's body, then the other, were put under a great deal of force from the powerful turn the dragon-type performed. The spectators let out a roar, seeing how well Ryoma's exits both were.
Obstacle 6: After a very short straightaway, the course goes all-out on its racers again, featuring two lazy 180s back to back. The track is wider and the curves aren't as tight--just long. By running along the inside of one, it's easy to slide past the apex of the other.

The turns were far from textbook, Garchomp's swimming centered on the first but drifting along the outside of the second. It definitely could have gone a lot worse--Ryoma and his dragon could have found the outside wall.
The track finally straightened out, and before the two was a cliff. A tall one--it had to be at least 150 feet to the slope at the bottom. To some, it was the most fearsome part of the course; to others, it was the most thrilling.

Obstacle 7: This is it. The biggest jump currently on a Pokémon Racing Federation official track. Teams leap downward over a hundred and fifty feet, onto a long slope that slants further downward. It's not uncommon to come down the slope aspeeds faster than even Extreme Speed will let it run. Make sure to go fast enough to clear the canyon cliff, or a certain wipeout will occur.

Rai felt Garchomp drift towards the wall as he made the turn, letting out a sigh of relief as he barely avoided hitting it.
Garchomp plummeted down the slope as Rai kept spurred his mount to an extreme level of speed. "Show them what you can do!" shouted Rai as Garchomp used his speed build up a mighty leap...
Garchomp sailed through the air, easily clearing the cliff wall and falling above the slope. When the two landed on the ramp beneath, it converted his downward momentum along the ground, sending Garchomp and rider rocketing forward as fast as a Suicune with the north wind howling behind it.
Then, the track's other claim to fame came into view. Dodging those spires wasn't fun by anyone's definition.

Garchomp seemed to dig one of his claws into the ground with each stroke of his huge tail against the earth. His turns were quick and seemed random. His eyes were so quick, as he was able to swerve around the pillars faster than the trainer could follow. The two kept their eyes open for a small tunnel on the right side of the canyon floor.
Obstacle 9: A gently-curving tunnel generally impossible to pass in. Not a difficult turn, but the lack of width makes it easy to rub the rock walls and lose speed.

Rai was rattled around like a pinball, Garchomp making turns too quick to track. Garchomp managed to get excellent grip on the track through the minefield.
Rai seeing the tunnel urged Garchomp towards it. "Hit that tunnel hard and fast!" Garchomp increased its speed to the max attacking the tunnel...
Garchomp's side fins grazed the narrow tunnel several times during the mild turns, there just barely enough room to maneuver through it. Once they hit the light at its end, another minefield of spires awaited the two, this one more dense than the previous.
