Aero saw the glint again, and Aurum identified its source: the human wandering the desert had a filigree limb. Something doesn't seem to add up about the situation.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
Morpheous turned his eyes to the sky, and found a pair of gargoyles carrying a human and vedalken, respectively. The two were slowly descending.
"HELLO UP THERE!" Morpheous shouted. He wasn't sure if his fellow Esperites would hear him. With quick thinking he used his filligree arm to reflect sunlight towards the descending Esperites as a way of getting their attention while shouting towards them.
"Do any of you know where we are exactly? It's not Esper I know that much from watching the sky line. Do you know which direction our homeland is exactly?" Morpheous shouted to the Esperites.
"Vedalken!" Aero yells as they are soaring above the desert. "I know I heard someone yelling down there! I'm going in to check it out." Aero then, without a word, guides the gargoyle downward until he approaches the ground. As the gargoyle lands, Aero turns his head to the Esperite. "Hello there." He says in a cautious voice. "Who are you."
-------
OOC: I know this seems out of character for Aero to actually be interested in another character, I just want to progress this story a bit faster then he'll revert to his ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺ self.
OOC1: RR, is it possible for you to link to our sheets on the first page to make it a bit easier?
OOC2: Sd, I like your avatar. Do you happen to have a bigger version of it. I want to see it better The reason I ask is it might be the perfect art for one of my characters, but I want to get a better look
Resentful at having yet another distraction from the Hegemon's task, Aurum gradually led his gargoyle lower so it was circling above to two Sapiens like a great iron buzzard. "What circumstance," Aurum grumbled to himself, refusing to call the phenomena "bad luck." For cycles, Aurum had been able to study peacefully without any contact with a Sapien. Now within less than an arc-tic he's had to deal with not just one, but two, of them, and neither of which seemed to have any magical aptitude whatsoever.
"Sapien," Aurum called down, "What business have you here? We are here under orders of the Hegemon. You do not belong here."
Aero ground his teeth and clenched his artificial fists. If he calls me sapien one more time.... he thought to himself
He shook his head gently and regained his composure. "I was curious. I figured one like yourself would respect this, or are you just a hypocrite?"
Aero turned to the stranger. "If you must know, Vedalken" Aero said without facing Aurum, "I had a gut feeling on this one." Aero stood for a few seconds, staring at the newcommer, then turned and walked over to ruined pillar, crossed his arms and leaned against it. "I'm not the diplomat here. Maybe someone who is more educated should take this one. After all, I'm only a simpleton." Aero smirked.
"I was not speaking at you, Aereandarius." Aurum said cooly to Aero, which proved to be difficult because of his still circling gargoyle forced him to rotate his body in a comical manner. With a thought, he stopped the gargoyle's rotating and lowered it facing the two Sapiens. "You and I have reason to be here, though what the Hegemon sees in you is a riddle only Crucius could solve. This Sapien, however," gesturing at the new Sapien, "was not summoned with us to the Hegemon's chambers. He is not part of this mission, and this region of Esper is largely off-limits since the phenomena near the borders began. He does not belong here."
"Which brings me back to you, Sapien," focusing his now deep green eyes at the stranger, "What business have you here?"
-
OOC: Am I being too antagonistic? I don't want to impede progress too much.
OCC: I plan to have Aurum's journey eventually enlighten him to other ways and the merits of others, causing him to shed his racism and other less savory traits. But, to make that more relevant I feel I have to play it to a fault now so the contrast will be more apparent and dramatic. Though I don't know if I expect to have that really happen before we reach Naya or Jund.
"My name is Morpheous and I'm a traveler. I cant' seem to remember much after that but all I know is that the mana of this land is strangely different from what I'm used to. I'm not on any special mission from the Hedgemon no, however if you need an extra blade for your cause you can have mine. However I am curious to see the different styles of blade work these people have and to see if I can apply it to my own for future...uses." Morpheous responded to the strangers. He wasn't sure if he could trust them however if they were on a mission for the Hedgemon they must be important members of their society. He could already tell the Vedalken wasn't a fan of him but that wasn't a surprise. Vedalken only liked him when they needed his particular services, until after they've paid him. The other one was human and seemed nicer to him which was welcomed. "So your names are Aerendarius and Aurum then?"
Occ: Sure no problem Auron, I'll send you the link to where I found it on Deviant art.

IC: "No. My name is Aereander, but you can call me Aero. All of my friends do...well, if I had friends anymore, they would." Aero said in a manner of amusement. He always did enjoy throwing this sense of humorous sarcasm into conversations. And now, with another "Sapien" in the campaign, Aero knew he'd be able to have a much more enjoyable time. "The Vedalken just butchered my name. Its fine though, we sapiens are beneath his kind anyways."
=========
OOC again: Let me know if Aero is getting too cocky and mean with Aurum. I don't the campaign to turn into a "who can make fun of the other more" contest, as fun as that might sound.
A new ally in tow, the three Esperites flew eastward, their metal frames becoming uncomfortably warm from the heat reflected by the desert sands. Miles and miles passed, then the surface transitioned into a grassland, then a beach, then a sea.
When land on the opposite side of the sea came into view, so did creatures they had never seen before. The closer to the mainland they flew, the easier they were to see. When one turned to face them, none of the Esperites could believe their eyes. She was a white-winged female, her pure robes reflecting sunlight from the nearly cloud-free blue skies as though they were a mirror.
Even Aurum couldn't believe how awe-strikingly beautiful she was. She adjusted her course of flight, heading straight for them. About four hundred feet away, she began casting a spell none of them had seen before. A wall of golden light formed above the gargoyles at a ten-degree angle with respect to the ground, forcing them to land, an elegant castle in sight to the north.
The winged woman landed, one hand on the hilt of her sheathed weapon strictly out of caution. "Foreigners in Bant? First, civil war, then this? Surely Asha knows why this is!" A second female, just as brilliant as the first, landed next to her.
Morpheous greeted the two winged strangers. "Hello there, we are nothing more than simple travelers who are interested in exploring new lands. We wish for no harm and would only like to pass through without causing any trouble." He meant every word he had said and hoped that his new traveling companions would play along and agree.
The first female took her hand off the sword hilt, then the two circled the group. "I don't see anything wrong with them in their hearts." They paused, gave each other a glance, then sighed. "Perhaps King Wyott of Valeron would be interested in meeting with people from outside Bant?"
"During civil war? I doubt he has time," the other replied. "Most of the nation has its hands full fighting Jhess. They give even Valeron's cavalry trouble."

Aero had been around and had seen his share of abominations, but he'd had never laid eyes upon creatures as this. Still, Aero's mind ws not clouded. Perhaps he thought, if we go to this King of thiers, there would be some reward in it for him. Or even better, perhaps this new world would give me the information I seek. "Why not?"Aero chimmed. "Maybe we should meet this king. You know, to avoid any messy conflict between our nations and yours." As Aero delivered this ultimatum, he smirked, cocky that he had given the angels an offer that they had no choice but to except.
Not wanting to add another front to the war, the white-robed angels agreed to lead the trio of Esperites southward. The group waved to the gargoyles, watching them leave for Esper.
A wild leotau ambushed their camp on the second night of the journey, Morpheous staring in horror as one of the angels dispatched it in two blows with her holy greatsword, blinding beams of light further agitating the creature. She had mastered sword techniques he barely begun to understand, and with a heavy-looking blade at that.
After six days' journey, they finally reached a bustling town overgrown with vegetation and a tall castle in the north district--the side from which they were entering. "King Wyott makes his home inside. Good luck." When they reached the north gate, the angels departed.

Aero looked around, not seeing much. Just the surrounding market and the castle's entrance. Aero noticed how different the architecture was here than from Esper, and considered pilfering something to pawn off back in Esper, perhaps as a way to get out of Tidehollow. He didn't see much worth stealing though.
Aero shrugged as he didn't see anything of interest. Aero took a piece of cloth out of his bag and wrapped his Etherium arms as best he could and put gloves on to cover his hands. "Lets get this over with," he said as he began to walk into the castle.

"seem's pointless to hide the reason we're even here in the first place." Morpheous commented to Aero. However he checked himself and brushed off any sand that was in his clothes to look more presentable. He wasn't sure what lied in store for him but he'll be damned if he didn't at least look presentable.
He was curious to see that there were little to no weapon shops in this place but was sure there was nothing there that he really found would be of use.
What kind of check do I need to make to attempt to steal? Just for future reference. Like, if we're walking through market and I want to swipe an apple or what have you. Would that be Sleight of Hand?
Aero looked at Morpheous and shrugged. "Can't hurt, can it?" he smirked, "Especially when your me." Aero then proceeded to tuck his mana blade deep on his arm. The etherium helped to hold it in place but allowed it for quick access when needed, a handy trick he had picked up. He looked up at the other two, who were watching him do so. "If we're meeting a king, do you really think we'll be permitted to keep our weapons on us? I want to be ready...just in case."
