Reed looks around at his companions, most of whom were affected by the scream. He whispers an incantation and gestures to all his companions, and blue healing energy shoots out to encompass them all.

This should be 2d8 plus 5 = 14. Everyone gets 14 HP back, which should cover any damage from the previous fight AND the psychic damage.
I'm barely hurt and believe the object of my revenge is near (err, unless they said that guy wasn't here, I forget). I'm probably headed in regardless of what y'all do.
Most of our party has taken between 8 and 17 damage between this scream and the fight before it. We should really heal up before confronting the 'final boss' here.
Move straight up to the altar and start the fight now before the big bad has a chance to start the final ritual (alas, the angel is already dead so there's no rescue)
Take a short rest, spending hit dice to recover but not getting any spell slots back, then fight knowing the ritual will be underway
Take a long rest, completely recovering, but you'll be on a tight clock (i.e. a fixed number of rounds) to fight him and end the ritual before the gateway to the Infernal Prison opens
I have outcomes in my head to handle all three eventualities.
There is no reason for Emeryn to stop here more than a round or so. I plan to continue into the next room, basically without breaking initiative. There may be time for a round or two to heal and follow on later, but there is no story where people sit around for an hour one room over from a world-ending evil ritual.
Yeah, but Paravrax is close to death and it's possible that those who haven't rolled yet will be as well. Reed would make sure everyone is okay before moving on.
"In an effort to sssspeed this along, I can offer this bevy of potionssss. I will need to drink one or two of them mysself, but perhapsss you can wait a minute for us to freshen up, Emeryn? It will take far less time than the other options, and will allow us to keep pace with you."
Paravrax then guzzles down a potion.

Slightly disappointed by how unrefreshing the potions were, Paravrax shrugs and offers the remaining four in his pack to the rest of the group.
I am now at 12 HP, so am still...somewhat squishy, but am not imminently dying.
EDIT: Wait, wait, wait. Did I need to roll for the Ring when the Celestial died, or does it not count as a spell? It's been a while, so I just forgot.

Emeryn wheels with a fierce glare. "Now is no time for weakness. We are so close to fulfilling our purpose here, every moment feels like a fortnight!"
"I appresssiate your fervor, but I am not asking for but a moment to pass out these potions. I am not interested in dying so close to finishing our quesssst."
(Trying to spoiler on tablet is giving me fits, apologies.)
@paravrax: Death wail was not a spell, so you're fine.
@all: From the altar, you hear a low humming, as though someone had struck a tuning fork. "So it begins," the man's voice echoes. "When the world was born, it was as an egg: a thin shell surrounding a nucleus of gold. Today, we pierce that shell."
The party, exhausted from the fighting, shocked and awed by the scream, takes some time to regroup before heading into the next room to confront the source of that grave announcement and death scream. Those with a connection to the divine feel a slight chill, the calm before a storm of dangerous magic. Those with a connection to the arcane feel a tingle, the prickling of static as a magical charge begins to build. As best any of you can tell, whatever is happening in the next room is going to require hours to complete, so you have time to recover and formulate a plan.
Collapsing onto the ground from fatigue, Dieknuh brings herself to a sitting position and begins to rest. "Let's just take a breather before we go charging in any further. That, ah- that scream dinnae do me well." The dwarf turns her head downwards, shaken but embarrassed all the same.
Time for a short rest. Dieknuh will expend one hit die.

Emeryn flinches for a moment, then wrenches her blade out of the fallen cultist and surges down the middle of the aisle toward the next room.
Regardless, I'm sure Kaburi will give us time to heal before we head inside, and I think combat is over anyway.

I did have a question earlier that I am still waiting on an answer for.
Do I just need to roll for myself of for Starfall as well?
