So, Wreckage is the setting that I came up with a while ago.
Wreckage is set on our Earth, a little in the future. Story wrapped in spoiler tags below.
We've had our First Contact, but it wasn't as we had hoped. Instead of shaking hands, we ended up in the middle of a battle between two races. Humanity's infrastructure is ruined, millions of people killed, the climate has changed. Earth is a husk of what it used to be. All of that is thanks to the alien wreckage that crashed, the thousands of ships that were shot down in space or even our atmosphere coming down on top of us.
And yet, while they destroyed us, they are also our greatest hope. Trapped between the two races, what is left of humanity scurries around in the wreckage, looking for anything to help them survive. With the threat of the alien hostilities turning into a ground war, you need every edge you can get.
You, my players, were randomly selected by lot to go out of your community and scavenge whatever you can from the ruins of your former cities, or even the alien ships. Dangers lurk everywhere. Rival scavengers, feral animals and even humans, alien crash survivors, even alien flora and fauna all conspire to make your life miserable. Do you have what it takes to come back home with the spoils of victory, or will you be just another wreck to add to the growing collection?
I'm looking for a few good men and women to play this RP with me.
What is this about?
Fun! I will have you explore human cities, alien ships, and perhaps even more!
What kind of character am I?
You can be anything. Since you were selected randomly, your character can be anything. You create a character with the bare bones and I will do the rest. This is to avoid everybody being a battle-hardened war veteran who can take out aliens with nothing but a set of tweezers. Sure, there might be a character I decide could have been in a hastily-formed militia, but no professional soldiers.
What are the bare bones of a character?
All I need from you are the following:
Name
Age
Height and weight
Appearance
Previous occupation (Any, except for soldier.)
Education level
Allocation of points in the attributes. (See below)
Are we using a RPG system?
No. I am still in the process of learning DnD 4th edition, and have only limited experience with World of Darkness, Shadowrun, and Rogue Trader. I will, however, call for die rolls or do them myself, when I see fit.
How do the die rolls work, then?
Your character will have a priority system to show how good he or she is at something. The attributes are as follows:
Strength
Perception
Endurance
Charisma
Intelligence
Agility
Luck
Let's say your character used to be a strong man in a circus. Such a man is strong and hardy, so you assign your 1 to Strength, and your 2 to Endurance. This means your strong man values those two traits most.
Next, you can say that your strong man is good at paying attention, so his Perception can be assigned as 3. Sadly, he is fairly unlucky, so he gets the 4 for Luck. Since the strong man boasts a repeatedly broken nose and isn't particularily handsome, you assign 5 to Charisma.
Lastly, since your strong man is just clumsy and not the smartest tool in the shed, these attributes get 6 and 7.
What about items?
All characters are assumed to have clothes that fit, and one melee weapon. Before heading out, they got enough food to last each of them 4 days at a rationed diet. Other items are found at my discretion or when making die rolls and completing them.
Anything else?
Depends on what you want to know. PM me or ask it right here if you want to know more.
Sounds great. How do I sign up?
PM me with the bare bones of your character, and once I've approved you, post them here, so you can meet the rest. Once we've got enough characters, I'll get things started.
