@Shadow I'm gonna vig Rhand or Hunt. If you can jail someone that isn't one of them that would be great for me. Thanks for the consideration (no sarcasm).
@Cantrip if fulcrum flips town I might shoot Hunt, I feel like those three PRs are not all town and I trust Shadow.

Done. I probably won't be able to post again until after the deadline, so good luck, I'm probably dead so see you all in post game.

Alexander, rumors only grow.
And we both know what we know.
The numbers have been reduced even further! At this point it seems almost pointless to be doing battle with just 5 players in a game meant for many, but you still yearn to solve this conundrum and save your virtual hide.
Mete0rShower, Soldier:76, Town Two Shot Vigilante has been killed.
It is now Day 5. Deadline has been set for February, 22nd 2000 EST.
As should be apparent, I jailed Iso last night. I'm either getting played, or he's town, we had an exchange that very strongly implied that he didn't know that my jail blocked neighbor chat (and presumably scum chat).
I'm wondering now if Cantrip was trying to play me in the Hood.
If Rhand is scum, he deserves the win in my book. I just don't see it with our convos in the Hood.
I'm leaning towards this as my Lynch order:
Shadow
Iso/Cantrip
Rhand
Why Shadow you ask? I'm glad you did!
Looking at flips up to this point, there is nooooo need for RB, Vig, Watcher, and Neighborizor to also have a Jailer on their team. Otherwise what power did the scum have?
Looking at it from that point of view, the fact that Shadow stayed away from me and played like he had kid gloves the whole game, makes tons of sense that he's the scum PR.
What is giving me pause? Glad you asked that too. No night kill N1... why, it seems, so, not smart. My guess is that DV spilled the beans on the fact he needed a townie dead so the scum cut a deal to let him kill and then leave the game, which puts them that much closer to victory.
Any other ideas?
Love to hear others povs given we need scum dead today.

Do you think he ate a shot N1? Even though no killing role claimed it?
Why can't he just be a goon?
Why wouldn't an ascetic or untargetable type role make more sense? I realize he can't be because I targeted him, just wondering.
Right... kill meteor and act as if he shot me? Nice try Iso, but meteor said he wasn't shooting anyone if fulcrum flipped town.
I'm with Hunt. I'm think that Shadow would be long dead by now if he were town.
I'm more convinced on Iso than on Shadow tho, so

I wasn't, but could you be specific rather than just slinging mud?

Is there a reason that you're omitting that I already brought this up in the neighbor chat? I haven't had a chance to reread Shadow, but I agree that Shadow needs some heavy scrutiny, but also that you do, too, just based on town already having a crap-ton of PR's, and you and Shadow have both demonstrated that you actually are PR's. Am I correctly thinking that unless Brin allows scum in this game to make a kill in addition to their abilities, you and Shadow can't both be scum?
That you didn't mention that I brought this up already feels...off to me. Like, I already mentioned in neighbor chat that I was more suspicious of you, Shadow, and Meteor. Meteor dies, and you make it a point to parrot my thoughts and preemptively attack Shadow. I'm trying to figure out if this is malicious or just eager town.

Hmm. I could actually see DV doing something like that. But if that were the case, why wouldn't the scum just kill someone else N1?
I had a very candid conversation with shadow last Night that leads me to believe he's town.
Care to share any details?

Theory: We know Hunt's role. It's at least been cofirmed by Anak.
Mete0r stated he'd be shooting between Hunt and Rhand.
The town had a Jailer, Roleblocker, and Vig. There was a Hitman.
I think Rhand is scum Bulletproof.
So you think Meteor shot Rhand last Night and the vig failed because Rhand is bulletproof? Why is that more likely than that Meteor just didn't shoot (as he agreed would likely be best if Fulcrum came up town)?
Do you think he ate a shot N1? Even though no killing role claimed it?
Why can't he just be a goon?

I'm pretty sure Iso's suggesting that Rhand ate a Meteor vig-shot last Night, not N1. At first I thought you were also hypothesizing ways that Rhand could be scum, which didn't jive with your lynch order for toDay, but then I realized that you're just poking holes in Iso's theory.
Behaviorally, my T/S looks like this:
Rhand
Hunt
Shadow
Iso
Mechanically, it looks like this:
Rhand
Iso
Hunt
Shadow
As Hunt says, the lack of N1 kill doesn't track with that, though, but I still want to take a hard look at Shadow. Similarly, Hunt thought-dumping in the Neighbor chat pushes Hunt up, as well. As mentioned, it would be really scum-savvy to take that approach. Not inconceivable, but unlikely.
If Rhand's town, then Anak's wagon was entirely town, which seems unlikely for D2 of a larger game. But Rhand's been playing a solid town game, and, while unlikely, it's possible that Anak's wagon was all-town.
Meanwhile, Iso and Hunt have been using the buddy system in voting (or abstaining, D1) in tandem, managing to avoid Zomg's wagon and be on town at the end of every other Day. I haven't had the time to see if Hunt really just followed Iso's vote around like a puppy or if there were votes/unvotes inbetween. I'll try to do that (or if someone else has time, feel free). This actually makes me feel like it's less likely that Iso and Hunt are scum together, as scum try to avoid that kind of pattern. Possible that Hunt is trying to implicate Iso by doing it, but, again, I need to take a look at the actual progression, not just the wagons.
I don't know how much time I'm going to be able to put into this over the next few days (I'm supposed to be sleeping right now), but I'll do what I can to follow up on the research I want to do.
Not voting because we're almost certainly in lylo with a 3-2 t/s ratio, which makes me wonder why Iso's so comfortable with a vote sitting out there.
Iso, unvote, please.
EWP: You, too, Rhand. I'd rather we didn't have any speedlynches.
I'm actually going to try to do a little research tonight, but will need to go to bed soon, so no promises.
Ok, so Hunt doesn't seem to have been following Iso around. Hunt was actually on Ghosting early on D2, then unvoted and later voted Ghosting again, happening to fall into line behind Iso. D3 they voted back-to-back, but the votes feel natural given their suspicions on Ghosting from D2. I also wouldn't expect scumbuddies to tag-team the start of a town wagon like that. It would be pretty brazen. Possible, I guess, but I'm not feeling it. D4 was another Iso-Hunt 2-vote combo to start the wagon, but their votes were separated by 30+ posts and nearly two days, so not feeling coordinated there, either. Slight concern that maybe they really were just jumpstarting wagons D3 and D4, but, again, that doesn't feel like the case.
As should be apparent, I jailed Iso last night. I'm either getting played, or he's town, we had an exchange that very strongly implied that he didn't know that my jail blocked neighbor chat (and presumably scum chat).

Answering your questions:
I was thinking that in order to lie about the chat, Iso flipping scum proves they coordinated the lie together. But now thinking more critically, Iso could be scum and his buddy could be you or Rhand. I was thinking the fact that they tied themselves together last night pretty much proved collusion, but it didn't 100%.
As for you trying to Hoodwink (see what I did there) me, you started to push Rhand and Meteor towards the end of last night, knowing full well that I had several moments in the chat thinking the same thing. I was speculating on you using my vacillating paranoia of the two in order to get me on your side for a mislynch today. Now, Meteor flipping really didn't jive with that thought, so I'm wondering as scum, did you do that to just throw us off your scent? It devolved into a pile of wine quickly. Not throwing mud, trying to look at recent plays and figure out the plan of scum.
There was no reason I didn't mention you discussed the role logic. As for Shadow and I not both being scum, last night doesn't help, because Meteor didn't get to join, what with dying and all, so, it doesn't prove that Shadow and I used our abilities together and a kill still occurred. The previous night though, night 3, Rhand was jailed and taken out of Neighbor chat, and you were added, so, unless scum can use abilities and kill, that proves we aren't both scum. Not to mention that same night Fulcrum RBd Iso. So actually, that points more towards you as performing the NK.
Holy crap, I think that just proved Cantrip is scum...
Yeah, that Mechanically proves we were all doing something that night except you. Well, other than killing.

I'm at a loss. Your logic is sound, but I'm not scum, so I don't know what's going on. :/
You're missing something Hunt: Shadow's action is a Day action. I'm pretty sure he's free to kill at Night if he's scum.
At the risk of sounding like grasping at straws, this makes a lot of sense...but is it likely in a game with a town roleblocker? Wouldn't that nullify the roleblocker's usefulness significantly? Regardless, given that I *know* I'm not scum, Shadow being scum is the only option (unless, of course, scum can kill and use their ability at the same time, but that doesn't seem to be common).
Do you think he ate a shot N1? Even though no killing role claimed it?

* Don't know, since we don't know who D_V shot Night 1. Does it matter?
* Because where did Mete0r's vig shot go last night?
* Because Ascetics don't stop bullets and you targeted him. Duh?
Right... kill meteor and act as if he shot me? Nice try Iso, but meteor said he wasn't shooting anyone if fulcrum flipped town.

Except you slipped that you knew that scumchat would be blocked when somebody was Jailed, which shadow told me last Night.

Totally saw your post. Was obsessively refreshing the page hoping you'd post. I'd never gamble unless it was truly hopeless and I wanted a hail mary...which, to be fair, that was *almost* the situation.
We messed up at the end, but got by with a little luck (and a few prideful townies).

I don't think we messed up, I think I had iso deep enough in my pocket that we would have been okay.
Also, the amount of effort I put into this game is astronomical. When you all see scum chat you'll understand. But seriously, with most of my posting being mobile (like 95% of every post I've ever made including this one) this was a stupid hard game for me.

Guys?
Hey, Shadow, where'd all the townies go?
Haha, I still think that if one of us had bussed the other, we could have gotten away with it, but yes, we were getting stuck. I'm glad Brin didn't officially answer the mechanics thing. Also, I was super greedy and hopeful that Meteor would fire his shot.

Shadow kills Meteor (don't lock this in yet)
Haha, free, I'm FREE!!! Seriously, Brin, flavorful as it is, this posting restriction in scum chat is awful! Like, maybe it should have been something like notes I could write and post every 20 min or so with 120 characters. Either way, I think it was an insanely creative way to structure my role whilst also making want to dig my own eyes out with a grapefruit spoon. It seems to have worked out though. About 95% of my posting is done from mobile, which means I have notes on my phone where I write my posts and then copy paste them into the game. For this, I have a note that's an alphabet, and I copy paste each letter into another note to order the words, then copy paste the whole thing. It's an ordeal.
(Love you though Brin, really have loved playing my role)
Dear Zomg,
If you're still reading this, I'm so sorry for day 1! I've defended neutrals day 1 pretty consistently, and didn't realize that you would be at l-2 with my vote. I further didn't realize that DV was playing you, I thought he was actually Mercy and that you were trying to draw out the doctor. That's part of why I jailed him night 1, and I wasn't around when he revealed that he'd been lying about his name. It worked out for us due to me saving his life so that he could kill Rodemy and leave anyway, but I am so sorry!
Dear Cantrip,
It has been an absolute pleasure playing with you! You've been amazing, both in game and expanding out what I've been trying to say with my ridiculous notes in scum chat. I'm pretty sure we win or lose on this night, but on the off chance that meteor doesn't fire his shot, I'm going to claim that I switched to Iso at the last minute in a full on logical nosedive. He of course will claim that's false, and then one of us will get lynched, and you can kill Rhand and sell Iso and my spat as a way to win in the end game. I don't think that will happen, but worst case scenarios have happened before.

I guess this will have to wait for post game, darn. Seriously though, thank you for a great game, win or lose, I feel really good about everything. I wish I could have communicated more intricate thought, as well as discussing in game plans, but I think we did fine. Also, my "Cantrip?" Then "Cantrip!" Posts were me wondering where you were, and then being excited that you were back.
________________________________
DV: I'm pretty sure if we'd claimed honestly to each other, the end result would have been the same, we stay out of each other's way and both still win.

Overall I had a really good time with this game. I feel like it would have been harder had ghosting not done his claim shenanigans, but that's the whole thing with a gambit, you do it for the potentially huge benefits. I also think we still would have been okay.
I think most of my suspicion of Cantrip stemmed from his interactions with Ghosting, but then Ghosting flipped town and I reconsidered.
I didn't play very well this game. I was demoralized the whole time, as I explained in Neighbor chat to shadow last Night.
Sorry, guys. I couldn't pull it together at the end.
Iso, I'm genuinely sorry that you weren't enjoying yourself. It was obvious, and it pained me. I hope your next game is better.

Also, Ghosting, never do that again.
I know, I was flabbergasted. But then I made the connection that Ghosting used to go by Nakamura, and Nakamura made some...interesting choices back in the day. Still, barring that horrible fake claim, he's vastly improved his game.
Also, I was super greedy and hopeful that Meteor would fire his shot.
Yeah, I neglected one of my prime rules to playing as scum: Never get greedy. I was actually glad to see that Meteor didn't shoot; I think he's a better player for it.
Well done
with Iso snapvoting me in lylo, I was sure he was scum, ergo sure that my vote was safe.
I actually came online now to unvote because I just realised that the fact that Cantrip kept forgetting that shadow was "confirmed town" must mean that Cantrip was scum with shadow.
It took me this long to realise that simply because it took me this long to realize shadow wasn't town at all.
@Iso: when are we ever going to learn to stop scumreading each other when we're both town?

@Cantrip: shadow spilled the beans above. Sorry I was unpleasant to play with this time around; it was a bad time for me to join a Mafia game but I didn't want to see yet another game go under due to inactivity/lack of replacements. If you still wanted to talk about things, that's fine.

I was actually worried about that, but didn't want to draw attention to it.
Yay post 1000!!
Shadow, my only critique was your horrible bus vote on Zomg D1. When in doubt, it's almost always the correct choice to not vote.
(You're welcome to respond in kind; I made a LOT of mistakes this game, and I'm surprised no one caught them sooner.)
@Zomg: I also apologize for hitting you with a bus. You sounded so excited in scumchat, and then got lynched D1. Sorry!
@Rhand: You're never going to trust me again, are you?
@Hunt: I give you props, and nominate you for town MVP. In a game where practically everyone was townreading me to the extreme, you knew something was off about me. Sorry you couldn't make anyone else see it in time. (Technically, I feel like you should have won the game for the Town with your logic post at the end; it's mostly dumb luck that Shadow and I were online at the same time before Rhand and Iso unvoted.)
@Cantrip if fulcrum flips town I might shoot Hunt, I feel like those three PRs are not all town and I trust Shadow.
Alexander, rumors only grow.
And we both know what we know.
Vote: Fulcrum
Good luck, everyone.
Iso(1): Rhand
fulcrum(4): Mete0rShower, Iso, Huntzilla, Cantripmancer
fulcrum has been lynched! They were Widowmaker, Town Roleblocker.
Night Actions are due to me by 1900 EST of Wednesday, February 15th.
RIP Meteor

Why can't he just be a goon?
Why wouldn't an ascetic or untargetable type role make more sense? I realize he can't be because I targeted him, just wondering.
I'm with Hunt. I'm think that Shadow would be long dead by now if he were town.
I'm more convinced on Iso than on Shadow tho, so
vote Iso
Explain that thinking?
Care to share any details?
So you think Meteor shot Rhand last Night and the vig failed because Rhand is bulletproof? Why is that more likely than that Meteor just didn't shoot (as he agreed would likely be best if Fulcrum came up town)?
Wagonomically, it looks like this:
Shadow
Iso
Hunt
Rhand
Rhand gets the low spot here because:

Fourth Lynch

Ok, eyes drooping, heading to bed. G'night, all.
@Cantrip: What's your thought process for your posts today? It feels like you're filling the page without committing to any opinion.
Vote Iso
* Don't know, since we don't know who D_V shot Night 1. Does it matter?
* Because where did Mete0r's vig shot go last night?
* Because Ascetics don't stop bullets and you targeted him. Duh?
rofl
Except you slipped that you knew that scumchat would be blocked when somebody was Jailed, which shadow told me last Night.
Pushing the Iso/shadow narrative makes no sense. This is flailing. You're going for every possible angle you can not to lynch your buddy, here.
-
@Cantrip: Some small aspects of his role as well as his struggle to read me last Night seemed very genuine.
Also, if Rhand were town, he would have been speedlynched by the remaining two scum by now. Just sayin'; that should be enough to see him lynched now.

Guys?
Hey, Shadow, where'd all the townies go?
I think most of my suspicion of Cantrip stemmed from his interactions with Ghosting, but then Ghosting flipped town and I reconsidered.
I didn't play very well this game. I was demoralized the whole time, as I explained in Neighbor chat to shadow last Night.
Sorry, guys. I couldn't pull it together at the end.
Also, Ghosting, never do that again.

10/10 Would definitely scum with again.
(Scum chat so people get it: https://www.quicktopic.com/52/H/cuggXuUYSnAy6 )
At one point I thought I would jail no one for night 4, so I wrote this up.

________________________________
Overall I had a really good time with this game. I feel like it would have been harder had ghosting not done his claim shenanigans, but that's the whole thing with a gambit, you do it for the potentially huge benefits. I also think we still would have been okay.
I know, I was flabbergasted. But then I made the connection that Ghosting used to go by Nakamura, and Nakamura made some...interesting choices back in the day. Still, barring that horrible fake claim, he's vastly improved his game.
Yeah, I neglected one of my prime rules to playing as scum: Never get greedy. I was actually glad to see that Meteor didn't shoot; I think he's a better player for it.
Guess.
with Iso snapvoting me in lylo, I was sure he was scum, ergo sure that my vote was safe.
It's a game.
-
@Cantrip: shadow spilled the beans above. Sorry I was unpleasant to play with this time around; it was a bad time for me to join a Mafia game but I didn't want to see yet another game go under due to inactivity/lack of replacements. If you still wanted to talk about things, that's fine.
