You wake to the sounds of water dripping, a single drop at time. It's dark everywhere, dark and cold.
You carefully try to stand up and after few minutes of fumbling around, you found something you think might be a knob.
You carefully turn the knob to find yourself in a dimly lit hallway, doors everywhere. You carefully start to make your way towards the end of this long, long hallway, in hopes of finding something, anything.
Before long, you arrive to a decorated lobby and to your surprise, you find other people there, looking as surprised as you are.
No one is speaking a word, only looking around carefully. You notice that there are various kinds of people, from elderly woman to a young boy on his mid-teens, all looking around with a confused look on their face.
Soon enough, someone notices a small table in the corner of the room and the plain-looking letter on top of it. After people have gathered around, that same someone opens the letter and starts reading it aloud.
"To all of my dear guests
You might still be confused about everything that is going on, so as the host of this event, I shall enlighten you all what shall happen next.
I have brought you all here to play a simple game. A game of trust and betrayal. And there is no escape from this place, not yet.
The rules are simple: Find me and my friends, and I shall set you all free. Fail to do so and you will all perish.
Now, will you be able to find us? Let the game begin, and we shall find that out."
After a small moment of silence, the shouting and screaming begins. Some are voicing their opinions of disbelief, others are screaming. Some people are just standing there, not even looking shocked, their faces void of any reactions.
Soon the ruckus is interrupted by a huge screech and as everyone's eyes turn towards the roof, you all see a huge chandelier falling down. Hopefully, no one was under the changelier as it crashes to the ground, accompanied with a loud "thump".
As people draw closer it soon dawns to everyone that this is happening for real.
You can clearly see blood on the chandelier and a corpse tightly fixed on the chandelier.
The game has begun.
Welcome to the Trigger Happy Havoc Mafia. This is a Specialty game designed for 17 players.
This has game no special mechanics affecting the gameplay, but each role (including possible Vanilla roles) has an ability that they can unlock during the game by fulfilling the condition specified in their role PM.
(So, there are no true Vanilla Town/Mafia in this game.)
Welcome to the game, Atogaholic! Your role is the following:
Neutral Flavour-writer - Yokoi Rumi (Tonari no Seki-kun)
"Geez, Seki-kun is playing during class again."
Days in, days out. Everyday used to feel the same tedious chore of waking up, going to school, coming home, doing homework, eating the dinner and sleeping.
That is until you were seated to Seki-kun, whose desk in the one right besides you.
Unlike you, who is a model student, Seki-kun has opted to ignore the classes and play with his things instead.
You have witnessed it all, everything from jigsaw puzzles to miniature gardens. At this point, there's nothing that would surprise you.
And before you even realised it, your attention was captived by Seki-kun and his games. No matter how hard you tried, you just couldn't look away.
Even though you were against it in the beginning, as time went by, you turned more and more into accomplice.
However, now that things have taken a turn for more horrible, your ability to focus on a single thing and ignore everything else that's happening might prove itself quite useful...
... if you were not a corpse fixed on the chandelier, that is.
Helping others is quite hard when you are dead, they say.
Now, all you can do is pray for others to figure out who murdered you and get out of this place safely so that they can avoid sharing your fate.
You have the following abilities:
Flavourful death (passive): If by the time sign-up threads go up you have not writen the sample role PM, you shall die a horrible, painful death.
You unlock your latent abilities when you die.
You have gained the following ability:
Imagination flying high (1-shot, day): At any time during the day, you may notify the game mod via PM. You will be allowed the write the next cut-scene.
You win if you are alive at the end of the game.
#i: I am the mod and reserve the rights to change these rules.
#0: Have fun, be respectful towards the other players and follow the normal forum rules.
#1: DO NOT talk about this game outside of this thread/Role PM/QTs that I have given you. This is a modkillable offence.
#2: DO NOT quote any private message (Role PM or QT message). Please paraphrase instead. This is a modkillable offence.
#3: DO NOT edit your posts. If you want to say something more, please make another post. This is a modkillable offence.
#4: DO NOT post after you are dead. Dead man tell no tales. This is a modkillable offence.
#5: DO NOT use invisible text, cryptoclaims etc. This is a modkillable offence.
#6: DO NOT thank posts.
#7: By confirming that you have received your Role PM you also confirm that you've read it. Not reading your Role PM is an reportable offence.
#8: Please post at least once per 48 hours. If you have not posted in 48 hours, you will be prodded. Failing to respond to the prod within 48 hours will lead to your replacement. If you know you won't be able to post for a while, please let the mods know beforehand.
#9: BOLD your votes and place them on separate line. Unbolded votes will not be counted just like votes in the middle of a huge wall of text. Unvoting is preferred but not a necessity.
#10: Once lynch threshold is reached, votes are considered locked in. The votes and unvotes made after that will not be counted.
#11: If deadline is reached and no player has reached lynch threshold, the day ends with no lynch.
#12: If there's anything puzzling you, please PM the mods. We will not answer your questions on the thread. (Exceptions to this rule are lynch deadlines and vote counts.)

After moments of panic, the air in the room had gone back to being silent. Questions raced through your mind one after the other - Where were you ? Why would someone put you here ? Why would this happen to YOU ? You sunk to your knees, overcome by this surreal situation. Certainly it can’t be real, right ? Killing games don’t actually happen in real life, right ? Certainly, the body in the middle of the room has to be fak--
The body. The sight of it still sickened you to the core. From the looks of it, an innocent girl had already lost her life, and yet all you were worrying about was yourself. You realized that you couldn’t stay huddled in despair in the corner of the room forever. A few brave souls were moving about, either examining the body for evidence or examining the room for a way to escape. No, maybe brave wasn’t the word to describe them.. some of them looked almost completely unfazed, as if their situation didn’t affect them at all. Rather then being reassuring, this perhaps made you feel even more unsettled. What monsters have you been locked in here with ?
Coming back to your senses, you decided to inspect the letter once more. One line jumped out at you though:
Find me and my friends, and I shall set you all free.
You had glossed over this at first but now the impact of the statement hit you. At first you had an image of your captors in some secluded control room, silently watching your every move through their monitors. But as you gave the room a quick scan, it became evident that there were no security cameras. With this realization your face turned pale and whatever small bit of confidence you thought you had achieved was shattered. Your eyes gazed at the other 16 prisoners of the room. Prisoners.. no, that word could not apply to every member of this group of people. The seeds of distrust had been firmly planted. You were now sure of one thing...
Your captors were among them.

It is now Day 1.
The deadline is in 2 weeks, or Friday, October 7th, at 11:59 PM EST.
Serious question time on the line: No lynch strat here?
What's your reasoning here (forgive me if it's obvious, I've not played a much forum Mafia yet)?
Hold off on that for a second
@Propholaughicus: I want you to not even acknowledge the question.
Huh?
I too want to hear a rational for a no lynch game. That seems like both a bad idea and against the spirit of the game.
No lynch has always been an option and is hardly the spirit. The issue is that it is normally not viable.
I got what I needed. I would be interested in re-visiting this idea later, but the core of the idea is that everyone here has some PR, even it isn't active. There are ways to activate said PR. Going in blind to the night seems like a decent idea, so I wanted to put out a feeler.
Why do you think it is against the spirit of the game?
Everyone is a power role. There are at least 12 townies, maybe 13. (I am guessing either 4 mafia, 5 mafia, or 4 + 1 neutral). I am willing to wage a gamble that there are several tracking type abilities that aren't me (because if this worked, I likely die or get rbed)

You still haven't answered what your reasoning is, unless you think there being all power roles means that no lynch is a good idea.
To me, no lynch does a couple of thing to break the game.
- characters who can only get killed by lynching, like unkillable characters, impossible to remove.
- vanillas have little role in game outside of determining who should be killed and kill fodder.
- gives player with the ability to kill way too much influence over the game.
- it makes it a lot easier for the mafia to win since the only way for one to die is be nightkilled (or daykilled).
To me at least, part of the whole game is the lynching, and if you take that off the field, then it takes away from the game.
Now, explain why you think it is a good thing.

The first, second, third, fourth, and fifth priority is getting the scum. The lynch is the town's most reliable tool to do so. I am aware of that and not suggesting stifling discussion until tomorrow. I merely want to entertain the idea.
1. Lynch immune on non-town never works out and I don't think Bur would be bastardly enough to include one (blah blah mod gaming)
2. No true vanillas
3. One valid point. How many kills do you think are floating around?
4. Cops/trackers/watchers/metalcops lots of ways to figure it out. I admit the chances are low, but they are still possible.
Quote from CFC »
What you're saying here is that we should completely waste day 1 and rely on unlocking abilities, because that's totally guaranteed to happen in the game, and not focus on scum hunting through behavioral analysis. We also have 2 weeks for the day, I'm not wasting that on no lynching.
I know. Meta is so hard to break. I am not suggesting no lynching each time, merely to consider it for day 1. That's all.
Echo? If you're referring to the mindmeld, it was a crosspost not a repetition.
CFC seems a little overexplainy/mechanics oriented. She was a lot more passive as scum in STMU4 for what I remember, though. Explicitly fence sitting because I honestly don't know yet.
@Chandra:
I think you said STMU4 was your first game of forum mafia? Why do you have such a strong opinion on no lynching?
I said that I haven't played mafia in any meaningful way prior to STMU4. I thought his strategy was no lynch for the whole game. That comes off as either very scummy, very safe, or very weird. I just wanted an explanation.
The first, second, third, fourth, and fifth priority is getting the scum. The lynch is the town's most reliable tool to do so. I am aware of that and not suggesting stifling discussion until tomorrow. I merely want to entertain the idea.

You will have to understand that I'm still a little off about the end of the last game with an unkillable, ulynchable SK. I'm sure Bur won't do that, but I'm not taking that chance.
I have no idea how many people have kill abilities. I'm not 100% on all the roles that can kill.
T'm sure what you mean on the fourth, since I was talking about mafia winning, and you talked about other roles can help find scum.
I rather wait until there is a lynch target than do a no lynch just to get to the night. No lynch feels like running out the clock which to me only really benefits scum.
I'm going to be busy this weekend and tonight. I hope I can respond later tomorrow, but I won;t know until I get home. See you later.

4. Cops/trackers/watchers/metalcops lots of ways to figure it out. I admit the chances are low, but they are still possible.
I know. Meta is so hard to break. I am not suggesting no lynching each time, merely to consider it for day 1. That's all.
The GJ way path to no lynching:
Sorenblade + town points
Mindreaver - town points
The GJ way path to no lynching:
I'm kind of bummed out I didn't draw town with this playerbase, though.
Looks like GJ's at it again.
Getting good vibrations from Soren in that last post.
Thanks Echo. While we wait for Proph's answer, what do you think about CFC?
The GJ way path to no lynching:
CFC seems a little overexplainy/mechanics oriented. She was a lot more passive as scum in STMU4 for what I remember, though. Explicitly fence sitting because I honestly don't know yet.
And pretty much everything else.
Lynch scum = win.
Look, if this is because I am doing a double strike build without fortify, give me a break. 6Ls are hard to find, even for me.
If this is actually game related, and your bring up AA, I am going to be a little cross with you.
