And so begins our epic tale
Of knights of shield and sword
A tale told way too many times
You may have gotten bored
But fret ye not, ye gentle lot
For twas a strange affair
When came a jester to the town
His fine song in the air
He sang it proud and merry
To kings and queens and squires
Until they tired of his fair tune
And threw him in the fire
And as his body burned that day
The castle set alight
And as the king's fair knights did flee
It burned all through the night
They stood and watched it burn and burn
The brave and courtly men
And said, "Why do we jesters burn
When what they are are friends?"
Said Merlin, wizened as he was
"Tis true, but as you know
Those who jest do jest because
Their songs do often blow
Only by singing quite so badly
Can they be recognized
As tragic artists, misunderstood
By those they patronize."
The knights conversed, and then remarked
"That's a really stupid thought."
And then a serial killer came
And murdered the whole lot.
The moral of this story be:
Turn not away a minstrel
For he may have the final laugh
When you're all turned to... schnitzel.
Three players will receive the following PM;
Quote from Town PM »
You are Sir [YOURNAMEHERE], Townie of the Realm. You win if the serial killer is lynched.
One player will receive the following PM:
Quote from SK PM »
You are Sir [YOURNAMEHERE], Evil Minion of Darkness Bent on Total Destruction. Each night, you may kill another player. You win if you are one of two living players.
One player will receive the following PM:
Quote from Jester PM »
You are [YOURNAMEHERE], Court Jester. You win the game, and the game ends, if the king has you executed. (You lose the game along with the town if you and the serial killer are the last two alive.)
Each day, players may elect the king for the day by posting with the syntax Elect: Xyre. A player who receives a majority of those votes becomes king for the day. That player may then post with the syntax Execute: Xyre to have that player executed.
The king may not execute himself, and the king must execute someone - there are no No Lynches allowed.
Players have a deadline of 7 days to elect a king. The king will then have 72 hours to choose someone to execute from the time of the last vote for his election. Nights will last as short as possible.
If a deadline passes without a king being elected, the king will be chosen at random. If a deadline passes without the king executing anyone, instead nobody will be executed and instead the serial killer will gain an additional kill for the following night. So perhaps be punctual.
KoolKoal: Feel free to take this with a grain of salt since self meta isn't particularly helpful, but I think I get scumread mostly for style over substance, but also for a certain lack of substance over style. It's not so much what I AM posting most of the time (though sometimes that can seem bad) but what I'm NOT posting. I've been told I come to non-obvious conclusions a lot, so when I post, quite a bit of the time there's jumps in logic that people can't follow and they think that's scummy. I get that accusation about a lot of questions I ask specifically. People call them "busy work" when the questions are legit etc.
As far as things to ignore, I can't think of anything. I would suggest you focus less on what I'm doing and more on how I'm doing it. That's probably more likely to be accurate. Like I've just said, what I do tends to come off a little weird, but if you look for how I do it, mindset comes into play and maybe you figure out something useful.

You could be the Jester. You could be the SK. I'm not playing the WIFOM game with you, here. I don't want you in control of the lynch and I don't want to elect somebody who will lynch you toDay. If you're the SK, then I'd rather figure that out after we get 2 flips.

Yes, those are the actual, mathematical odds. Everyone here is 60% likely to be VT. Therefore, should we just assume everyone is VT because the odds are slightly better than a coin flip? No. What's your point?

I can only assume you're anti-town. Why else would you intentionally introduce WIFOM into the game? If anything, the SK wants to keep the Jester alive to keep the town concerned about the possibility of the SK being the Jester, and the Jester wants to keep the SK alive because if the SK dies, the Jester can't win.

king has a 20% chance of being jester. this is the best as it gives 25% chance to win and 0% to lose
20% chance to elect the sk. this is the worst. 0% win, 25% lose
60% we elect VT. 25% win, 25% lose
adding those up, we have a win/lose/day2 percentages of 20/20/60
Day 2:
33% chance we elect sk. town loses whether he lynches the last townie or the jester.
the rest of the time, we elect a townie or the jester if hes still alive after NK. it doesnt matter.
they have a 50% chance of lynching the sk. otherwise, town loss.
jester has a 33% chance to get sked, 33% chance of being elected. if neither of those happen, 50% to win. add that to the 20% from Day 1
town has a 40% chance to win if all choices are random.
jester is at 33%, sk 27%.
i also checked out the "let time expire to give the sk 2 shots at the jester" plan.
it makes town 33%, jester 17%, sk 50%. so lets not do that.

Nah. If you can't see the benefit of false claiming jester, I don't trust you to use the information from it correctly.
Unless I actually am the jester... I notice I haven't been CCed

That's why I am waiting for Dragon. You are 100% not town. But whether or not you're the jester is still up for grabs. If you're SK, you'd want the jester to claim with you so you can avoid lynching them and lynch town instead. It's possible you're the SK, and the actual jester isn't stupid.

If you elect me king every Day I'll be forced to townside
That makes zero sense to claim.
I think you are scum.
Can we lynch Tom now?
I'm guessing this is a triple bluff.
Lynch Tom.
I'll lynch Tom.
How can he be SK though when I'm SK?
I mean I hope you get my point.
Its a SK move for him to try and bold face the town.
Nobody not even the SK wants to lynch the Jester.

Elect KJ
Dragon_Reign has said nothing of value yet, and I'm still slightly salty at him disappearing from my game.
So, by default, that means:
Elect: Killjoy

Never move your vote on to anybody else ever.
also:
20% chance to elect the sk. this is the worst. 0% win, 25% lose
60% we elect VT. 25% win, 25% lose
adding those up, we have a win/lose/day2 percentages of 20/20/60
Day 2:
33% chance we elect sk. town loses whether he lynches the last townie or the jester.
the rest of the time, we elect a townie or the jester if hes still alive after NK. it doesnt matter.
they have a 50% chance of lynching the sk. otherwise, town loss.
jester has a 33% chance to get sked, 33% chance of being elected. if neither of those happen, 50% to win. add that to the 20% from Day 1
jester is at 33%, sk 27%.
i also checked out the "let time expire to give the sk 2 shots at the jester" plan.
it makes town 33%, jester 17%, sk 50%. so lets not do that.
Unvote, Vote Iso

IE Don't.
He might actually be the Jester.
Oh yeah but I trust you implicitly.
KJ might actually be the SK.
Tom are you throwing the game?
Right but it was fine to have two votes on you but not to move it to Iso right?
Why is that?
