I thought hans was lying about being the cause of starting on day 2 because this game is screwy and I thought he was being cute and trying to take credit and lie for no reason.
Whether he did or didnt, tom and anak both said that was towny? I could only see this as null andd the spred of towning hans seems off.
I'd like a better explanation from both tom and anak now.

Right, I said it was towny to me. Claiming that he did that would draw a lot of attention to himself, and leave him open to being countered rather easily. This is something that I would think really risky for scum, as they tend to want to sit back more often than town. What is the benefit of him lying that he did it? Not to mention that nobody is countering him, making the likelihood of him lying rather low.
If it was null, it would be something that he would be equally likely to do as scum and town, which I don't believe. Also, I said it was townie, but that doesn't mean I am saying he is 100% town, I just believe it to be a townie action.
vote: tappingstones this reeks of trying to determine if hans is worth a NK and transitioning to "maybe i can just get him lynched".
also hes being way too nice. hasnt even called anyone old sport yet.
i think putting himself out there like that for no real reason is a pretty solid town tell for hans.
coming from someone like me, it would be fairly meaningless.
like, im not gonna win a game by keeping to the shadows. but that seems like the blueprint for hans winning as scum.

I could see ending the day as a pretty sweet scum role. For example one of your PR is getting lynched so you end the day. The mechanic is balanced based on the fact that they dont get to nightkill.
If he's town with that kind of power why out himself? Just becomes a target for scum does he not?
I like the fact that Hawk thought about the speed in which people replied that this is towny.
Perhaps you have reason, but why would you claim to have ended the day? What's your motivation to tell us that it was you?
Day 1 sucks.

Bingo, IABM! If he in fact ended the day I cant think of a town motivation to do so. I'm thinking he may have suboptimally used his scum ability thinking it would town clear him.

It's balanced if the scum don't have day abilities and the townies do. Because it's functionally skipping the night phase and can allow repeated day phase actions.
@IMAB: I wouldn't consider NPCs as "People not in this game". TBH, I too am curious what they are and how do they interact with this game. Voting for a one is a reasonable action to test that out IMO.

Accurate.
Note how I said that I don't want to say anything more about my ability. I'm not claiming any abilities specifics or motives. This doesn't even make sense. There was no potential for anything to happen D1 because it was skipped immediately.

@Bur, actually that's an true point but I'm still leaving my vote there.
@IMAB: Why did you answer the question that I aimed at TS?
It looked like an interesting question and I felt like sharing my thoughts on it. It's not like TS can't have his own thoughts on it too since it's a question that could have multiple answers.
Because voting people outside of the game is a scumtell.
If you think it's a scumtell (and I agree with you on that part), then why didn't you vote me for voting Taredas?
I missed it.
Unvote: Jobie
Vote: Prophylaxis
Jobie has a conceivable reason for his action with his vote on an NPC. Why did you vote Taredas? Also do you have links to the previous MindScrew Mafia games?

Of course it is limited shots. Ok, if we "pretend" Hans is scum then we can quickly deduce Hans trying to spew off a shot to town clear himself because he can then say "I dont want to say more". There is no town motivation to taking credit there, is there not?
By the way, to call my question role fishing is very misleading. The day ended and Hans claimed credit for it. He then said because day ones suck.
Very surprised with how quickly Tom has been moving to townclear Hans.
hans is crazy easy to read. even easier than you.
and hes town this game. though im pretty sure you already know that.
Tom, you just accused me of being scum, rather openly I might add.
How exactly would you of all people know how to read Hans? You've played in one game with him and he hasn't flipped.
That's a very strange thing for you to say Tom. Why do you feel the need to shield Hans from very basic questions, like man Im not asking anything about role, my questions are all in regard to motive.
I agree with Tom here, you seem to be fishing hard for role info. If you were hard scum reading me in the MvW game for role speculating, why are you doing the same here? And how can you be certain it's an X-shot ability?
I agree with Tom here, you seem to be fishing hard for role info. If you were hard scum reading me in the MvW game for role speculating, why are you doing the same here? And how can you be certain it's an X-shot ability?
DOTA- I have NOT been role fishing. All my questions have been based on motive. I've been using the all important word WHY. The role fishing word would be HOW.
DOTA and Tom have both purposefully misrepped me here. DOTAs vote attempting to start a wagon.
Where are these role fishing questions you speak of DOTA?
I agree with Tom here, you seem to be fishing hard for role info. If you were hard scum reading me in the MvW game for role speculating, why are you doing the same here? And how can you be certain it's an X-shot ability?
Is your last question a serious question?
Under what circumstances would unlimited day end ability make sense?
@Tom Are you just going to ignore the hard questions? You claim Hans is easy for you to read but he has not flipped in any game where you have interacted with him.
In what world does that make sense?
You also havent backed up your accusations of rolefishing which I clearly have been doing quite the opposite of considering all my questions were "what is the motivation for...?"
@GJ-Have you ever asked for day one no lynch as town? Last time you said that you flipped scum.
In animal mafia, as the town censor. My ability could not be stopped by roleblock, and the no lynch vote would have been scanned normally. My ability suggestion as scum would have also been amazing for the town. There was a good chance after Chris replaced in the mafia shot him out of fear :o. And Xyre/Zio would have had more present spreading to do.

I am a Governor again, planning on playing it the same way I did in Classic. This is a game of a different nature so I am not confirmed town by ability, however, when j decide to halt a lynch, I can either make the lynched player king for the day (meaning they alone choose the lynch) or publicly reveal their alignment to everyone.
@GJ Can you explain generally why you would favor a No Lynch here? Is it because of the relatively lower accuracy of lynches D1? Apologies if you have explained in the past. As one of our best tools to finding scum, why would you advocate not lynching?
Accuracy of no-lynches is merely a symptom. No, I push no lynch and every game I do it for the same reason: Withholding of information, in particular claims. I also like giving Iso a giant middle finger every chance I can. On Day 1 (pretending what hans did didn't count), it isn't so much a tool, as a double edged sword. The information that can be gleaned is the only useful tool on a mislynch, but information can be gathered by reactions to a potential no-lynch, would you not agree?
Quote from Tom »
@gj does governor nacho change your desire for no lynch?
No. If anything, full steam ahead. Nacho should use his role immediately, and simply innocent child the player. Let's run someone up, and have Nacho pardon them. Best case is we go into night not only keeping our power a secret, but having a confirmed townie (or perhaps mafia member) to run with. We also confirm Nacho. I MIGHT GET THIS TO WORK

I don't like all the votes on Tapping who is asking very reasonable questions for a very odd mechanic. I don't like that Hans came out and claimed, and while Nacho has me a touch paranoid being govenor twice, for the same reason as the other game, it would suicide as scum so let's move on.
@Nacho: One question, do you confirm the alignment of the player or does the moderator (moderators?)?

Tom calling me scum makes no sense. He immediately tried to defend Hans and said Hans is "easy to read". Tom has no experience with Hans flipping. It is a bizarre thing to say. DOTA is trying to misrep, but I kinda wanba give him more leeway as he was tripping over his own feet in our last game together.
an OMGUS vote and still no condescension?! dont just roll over tapping, make it hard on us.
Not even post 100, and you want to show such bravado? Even Cyan isn't that ballsy. Why are you not addressing Hawk's reasonless vote on you, instead of TS's?
I am also advocating making L-4 the new claim range (so, in this case, 7 votes). Number alive + to lynch is redacted. I have a weird feeling even if the NPCs are just there as a mind ****, the number of players may not be the only factor to lynch.

/barn this hard. Tom makes zero comment on Hawk's naked vote.
@Tom-you dont want to know why he is voting you?
@Bur-There are very few posts by DOTA and Im on my phone, care to look for yourself?
@IMAB Was it Jobie's vote of Rod Serling that set you off, or what else tipped you to a serious vote on him?
Because voting people outside of the game is a scumtell.
It proved itself in AVANTE-GARDE mafia. I just didn't push it hard enough and let it go when I shouldn't have.
Though everyone seemed to jump all over this already, I feel obligated to respond:
1) Voting people outside of the game is not a scumtell.
1b) I didn't vote for someone outside of the game, merely a non-player member of the game.
2) Sample size is a helluva drug
3) Though some information can be gleamed from RVS, I think "HEY SERIOUS VOTE HERE GUYS" is more interesting.
I was on the bus when I read through the Tom/Tapping pillow fight. It seemed like hot townie-on-townie action from what I skimmed, but I'll take a closer look later. I think for the time being let's just let them yell at each other until they get tired.

It looked like an interesting question and I felt like sharing my thoughts on it. It's not like TS can't have his own thoughts on it too since it's a question that could have multiple answers.
Outdated Mafia Stats
I missed it.
Unvote: Jobie
Vote: Prophylaxis
Jobie has a conceivable reason for his action with his vote on an NPC. Why did you vote Taredas? Also do you have links to the previous MindScrew Mafia games?
and hes town this game. though im pretty sure you already know that.
Of course it is limited shots. Ok, if we "pretend" Hans is scum then we can quickly deduce Hans trying to spew off a shot to town clear himself because he can then say "I dont want to say more". There is no town motivation to taking credit there, is there not?
Tom, you just accused me of being scum, rather openly I might add.
How exactly would you of all people know how to read Hans? You've played in one game with him and he hasn't flipped.
That's a very strange thing for you to say Tom. Why do you feel the need to shield Hans from very basic questions, like man Im not asking anything about role, my questions are all in regard to motive.
I agree with Tom here, you seem to be fishing hard for role info. If you were hard scum reading me in the MvW game for role speculating, why are you doing the same here? And how can you be certain it's an X-shot ability?
DOTA- I have NOT been role fishing. All my questions have been based on motive. I've been using the all important word WHY. The role fishing word would be HOW.
DOTA and Tom have both purposefully misrepped me here. DOTAs vote attempting to start a wagon.
Where are these role fishing questions you speak of DOTA?
Is your last question a serious question?
Under what circumstances would unlimited day end ability make sense?
Isn't it quite odd that there seems to be two moderators?
Quite mad really.
And a game based on another game, but not following any of the rules.
Mao. Meow. Vote Azreal
What a pity. The same Tom from my last game. Both were scum...
UNVOTE,VOTE:Tomsloger
In what world does that make sense?
You also havent backed up your accusations of rolefishing which I clearly have been doing quite the opposite of considering all my questions were "what is the motivation for...?"
Speaking of Animal. You saw how well it could have worked. I have no issue analyzing people today, but merely that we shouldn't force a lynch or claims today.
I will warn you right now:

Post 42.
I MIGHT GET THIS TO WORK
Happy GJ
You claimed halfway through. We want to know if there is a functional reason why. Using an ability "just because" is terrible.
@Tapping: Who do you think has the worst vote on you so far, despite it being early?
The GJ way path to no lynching:
Tom calling me scum makes no sense. He immediately tried to defend Hans and said Hans is "easy to read". Tom has no experience with Hans flipping. It is a bizarre thing to say. DOTA is trying to misrep, but I kinda wanba give him more leeway as he was tripping over his own feet in our last game together.
I agree with GJ that Nacho's role needs to be confirmed at some point (especially if it allows him to confirm another player's alignment).
@Bur-In completed games Tom has close to zero interaction with Hans. For him to call Hans easy to read makes no sense.
What do you think about DOTA and Tom's misreps?
Not even post 100, and you want to show such bravado? Even Cyan isn't that ballsy. Why are you not addressing Hawk's reasonless vote on you, instead of TS's?
I am also advocating making L-4 the new claim range (so, in this case, 7 votes). Number alive + to lynch is redacted. I have a weird feeling even if the NPCs are just there as a mind ****, the number of players may not be the only factor to lynch.
The GJ way path to no lynching:
/barn this hard. Tom makes zero comment on Hawk's naked vote.
@Tom-you dont want to know why he is voting you?
@Bur-There are very few posts by DOTA and Im on my phone, care to look for yourself?
