Ambush Krotiq makes me laugh so much. I keep rereading the card and it keeps not having Flash. In what sense is this an ambush again? I just have visions of this huge Krotiq poorly concealed in some bushes, feeling slightly sad that his carefully planned ambushes never seem to work.
Midnight. A full moon. The Mayor panted, padded feet pounding the ground behind him.
"I knew I shouldn't have gone to see that prostitute again!" bemoaned the Mayor quietly, as he ducked into the forest.
He climbed up into a tree quickly, listening intently for his pursuer.
The silence was deafening.
Half an hour passed. Certain he had evaded the predator, he climbed down with caution.
His pant leg caught on the bark and he lost his holding, swearing as he came crashing down on to the ground. He gingerly tested his leg in an attempt to stand up, wincing with pain.
"Yep, that's broken."
A rustling came from the bushes behind him. Startled, he whipped around, stumbling on his dead leg. The bone punctured his skin, and he fell down again with a cry of agony.
A snarl erupted from the lips of the beast that pounced on him as it clawed his chest and picked up his head in its jaws. Before the beast ended his life, the mayor noticed a familiar necklace adorning the creature. The mayor narrowed his eyes in hate and disgust. "Gypsy scu-" *SNAP*
The mayor's lifeless body dropped to the ground for the final time, and the beast let out a mournful howl, setting down on to the corpse as it began to feed.

A knocking at the door.
"Who could that be at this hour?" the milkman groggily wondered aloud to nobody in particular. He lit a candle, yawned, stretched, and climbed out of his bed.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
"I'm coming, I'm coming," he said a bit louder, but still not loud enough to be heard by any person other than himself.
He opened the door and was greeted by three gentlemen wearing black coats and hats.
"How can I help you at such a late hour?"
"Well, you see, it is us that would like to help you, my friend. May we come in?"
The milkman took the three in, curious of their purpose at his door. What could they possibly be offering?
"Normally, I don't take calls this late, but you have a sense of urgency about you. I will make an exception. Come in; I will prepare some tea."
One of the black-clad men shot a sideways glance at the one in the middle. The milkman thought he detected the faintest hint of a smile on the man receiving the look, but if so, it was gone as quickly as it had appeared.
"That won't be necessary," the man in the middle stated, as he strode into the milkman's domicile.
"Well, what is it that you want from me, then?"
"My ah, associates and I - we're new in town. We have begun a business where we...offer protection."
"But sirs, this village is perfectly safe!" protested the milkman.
"We thought you might feel this way. That's why we have to...persuade...people that it isn't." The man pulled out a gun and aimed it at the milkman.
"Wait! No! Please! I-" protested the milkman, but it was to no avail. The man pulled the trigger three times, and the milkman slumped over, dead.
"Let's go, boys. We need to clear out before the neighbors come snooping."

Does your vote for Nachomamma8 have anything to do with his declaration that he was town?
Yes, actually. Looking at his recently-completed games, this isn't something he's done as either alignment. And he's been town in his most-recent handful so it's not like he has a reason to be excited to "finally" be town.
But you think Jobie is a better vote, to be clear?
Yo, everyone. Looking forward to a good game.

Iso's constant push for massclaims day 1 and 2, I really want to stick it to him and do the polar oppisite of pouring information into the thread, by holding it.
I have a reason to believe the town has a ton of power, due to their being two scum groups. I am also aware of what could happen if it would succeed and who would or wouldn't be targeted. On top of all that, there is a chance that a cross kill or two may happen.

Nothing about his post suggested excitement at "finally" being town. He stated that he was town instead of confirming like everyone else. In doing so, he stuck out. I expected scum to vote him for it because it's an easy way to look like you are posting content without considering that there is more town than scum motivation to draw attention to himself early in the game.

Bull$hit. I'm sure the game has been tweaked to take into account that there are multiple scum groups. I don't think that any self-respecting mod would overcompensate the town with power to the point where no lynching and letting night actions catch scum is an optimal strategy. This sounds like you are looking for an excuse to not scumhunt during the day. Besides, even if we no lynch and a power role catches a scum, we won't have the associative tells needed to catch the rest of his team when we lynch that scum day 2 and the power role inevitably gets killed night 2.

I wouldn't say Iso, as a mod, pushes for day 1/2 massclaims. In my experience, he always provides the scum team with reliable fake-claims, at least flavor-wise if nothing else, and his role assignments tend to bend the usual paradigms too.
But none of this really has anything to do with wanting a No-Lynch vote.

I've seen previous games where someone announced they were town, and when called out on it, explained that they had been scum several times recently and were excited to finally be town. I see no such reasoning here.
The funny thing about the early game is that there IS very little content, but often a surprising amount can be gained by looking at what content there is.
Would you mind elaborating on why, if you think scum would be more likely to call out Nacho's announcement than town, you still felt it better to vote Jobie, when his only post was literally "Vote X because RVS"?

I didn't like his response to DoT's question, seemed fake.
I have no interest in no lynching because "there could be crosskills, we have a lot of power, stick it to Iso". Having a town directed kill is a benefit to town, and lynching during the day doesn't make crosskills less likely and it doesn't mean we can't use the power that we have.
However, don't really think Gentleman Johnny is scum despite pushing his crazy-town case; he's putting himself out there quite a bit by pushing said crazy-town case and I don't actually believe that him as scum believes he can manipulate the town into no lynching, so.
Wildfire, your case on me is "you did something you didn't do in other games" which is silly, but also puts more depth to your initial vote than I suspected it to have.
Town reads thus far in order of strength are Ocean, Johnny, Wildfire.
I could also vote Jobie for a wet noodle opening, but prefer voting Tom.

Gentleman Johnny is putting himself out there as someone with no intention of scum hunting. Instead he claims he wants more setup info, which is as much a boon to the scum teams as it is to the town. I don't like this no lynch plan.
This is familiar some how. Have you done this before, GJ?
FtR, I'm not counting the confirmation "i'm town" of evidence of anything whatsoever. I don't know where you're going with this, Wildfire, but it's gonna need a better argument.

My vote is RVS, or at least RVS-adjacent. If half the game came in right now in favor of lynching him for it, I'd take my vote off. However, I would like to hear from Nacho on the subject, as I think it could provide some insight.
Question for you: You appear critical of GJ's plan and his motivation behind it. Do you believe this to be scum-motivated? If yes, why are you voting another player?

I am a town governor. I can overturn a lynch within a day; this means that my presence can be proven by a twilight period (I assume?); if j decide to overturn the lynch, there will be a no lynch. I am claiming now because there are three ways that governor can be played effectively IMO:
1) Ignore the power, draw the kill - seems the most reasonable option, but I'm not really too concerned about getting shot
2) Try to overturn a lynch where scum are quickhammering - Bad option since it can only be done in MyLo and I don't really expect to live that long - if I do end up in MyLo, will still be taking away scum's ability to quickhammer which is useful enough.
3) Claim outright, announce townreads beforehand- I plan to be extremely transparent with my townreads and who I'm protecting and will be reasonable enough in discussing reasoning. This means that scum, for the most part, won't be able to push through terrible mislynches, it means I have a little extra power in keeping the town on track, and it means that you should reasonably be able to slot me as town since my power is confirmable and far too powerful in scum hands (it would be far more beneficial for me to govern scumbuddies or random townies than it would be for me to play for towncred, especially jn a two scumteam game).
I'm on my phone and walking now, will expand more on this if needed later.
Gut read here. I didn't like his response to DoT's question because it was minimalist, gave off the vibe of "playing j cool" - would have liked to see him do something with his entry instead of confirming since there was already stuff in thread to respond to, but again, not a huge read.
Would be open to a Jobie vote as well; his opening was boring.
Town reads in order are:
OceanBlack, who has demonstrated decent depth in his thought process so far despite it being so early in game (and I can see where he's coming from in each of his votes).
Gentleman Johnny. While no lynch is a bad idea, I like the way he put himself out there early and don't think that he thinks he can manipulate the town into no lynching and wouldn't intentionally put out a bad idea for town cred.
Wildfire. Although I thought his reasoning for voting me was silly, it had better reasoning than I thought it would have when I saw the initial vote. Minor townlean here.
Why on earth would you say that, unless you are telling me you could use that during the day and got him?

Multiple scum groups tend to be really awkward for townies, unless crosskills happen. I would also point out that Iso's last game, Predator just ended. Iso is my opposite in a lot of ways. He tends to prefer higher power level games, where as I prefer lower. Look at how much power he put into his last game, which had only 1 mafia, and a neutral survivor.

It actually does. It I am anticipating a ton of power in the town, letting them get shots off while keep both scum groups in the dark seems super strong.

Yes I did. And I am doing it for a very similar reason. You were in that game, and I even think we discussed this merit.
@Nacho: I understand why you think this is a bad idea, but why would you ever claim outright?
@Everyone STOP CLAIMING. I AM NOT GOING THROUGH THIS A 2nd TIME IN A TWO GAME PERIOD.
IIRC, Gentleman Johnny has a habit of voting No-Lynch during RVS. I'm sure I've seen him do it before when reading older games, but for the life of me I can't remember which.
@Nachos & @imabusinessman: What the £@#$?!?!?! Do we seriously have 2 claims before we've even left page 1???
2). In this game, and the last game, I was/am quite serious about this line of action. I would like an actual objection other than "no lynch is baudd".
Sorry for posting twice, didn't notice my first post went through.
I've explained my reasons for claiming early. If you disagree with them, address them, otherwise the blanket "CLAIMING IS BAD" doesn't really do anything for me.

The GJ way path to no lynching:
Nothing about his post suggested excitement at "finally" being town. He stated that he was town instead of confirming like everyone else. In doing so, he stuck out. I expected scum to vote him for it because it's an easy way to look like you are posting content without considering that there is more town than scum motivation to draw attention to himself early in the game.
Correct, at that time. I think Gentlemen Johnny is the best vote now.

Lol that was easy.

I'm one shot Seer, One shot gunsmith.
Why would you claim investigative roles in your first post?
Can you explain why you felt the need to announce you were town in your first post?

This is familiar some how. Have you done this before, GJ?
I'll vote Axelrod for no reason.

Gentleman Johnny is putting himself out there as someone with no intention of scum hunting. Instead he claims he wants more setup info, which is as much a boon to the scum teams as it is to the town. I don't like this no lynch plan.
Yes I did. And I am doing it for a very similar reason. You were in that game, and I even think we discussed this merit.
@Nacho: I understand why you think this is a bad idea, but why would you ever claim outright?
@Everyone
STOP CLAIMING. I AM NOT GOING THROUGH THIS A 2nd TIME IN A TWO GAME PERIOD.
The GJ way path to no lynching:
@Nachos & @imabusinessman: What the £@#$?!?!?! Do we seriously have 2 claims before we've even left page 1???
Vote imabusinessman
How much experience do you have?
Experiments Series: #5 (Courtly Intrigue Mafia) | #4 (Drunken Tracker) | #3 (Big Red Button) - coming soon | #2 (Pope Mafia) | #1 (Iso's Inflammable Mafia)
Mini Games: MTGS Mafia Redux II (Invitational, Evil Mirror Universe) | Unreal City
Old Games (bad): The Greenwood Affair | Blood Moon Mafia
2). In this game, and the last game, I was/am quite serious about this line of action. I would like an actual objection other than "no lynch is baudd".
The GJ way path to no lynching:
I've explained my reasons for claiming early. If you disagree with them, address them, otherwise the blanket "CLAIMING IS BAD" doesn't really do anything for me.
