I am afraid you have no say on that, GrindMaster. The bolded implies greatly to me, and to anyone else. Since what you claimed is actually confirmed, why have you not just told the rest of us to stop ALL guessing. Again, do you think you are the only one who can grant abilities/have abilities based on naming?
Of course we know people can have things that trigger off correct IDs/being ID'd. It'd be silly to think otherwise, because again - without a mechanic like that to benefit the unmasking, there's no reason for this to not just be blind mafia. Nice appeal to ignorance though.
Another note, May STILL hasn't posted since WG's question. May be nothing but probably is something.
If you aren't Seppel, then you have to be his twin or something.

@Sept:I'm cool with you, just don't get any dumb ideas.
For clarity, my final @ was supposed to be @September, not at Seppel, who is apparently not Octopus.
@Feb: Because I'm confident I can name September. I wasn't confident about October and was guessing on a hunch.
@Oct: I'm not comfortable with lynching September because of who I believe his true name is and based on his behavior I don't think he's scum.
This has to be the most ridiculous dodge I have ever seen. So in a game where meta can't really be used until all players are revealed, you are trying to meta game, and found scummy behavior, but because you think September is a certain player, you are willing to give him a pass?

A bit of both. I read it as scummy. The "based on who I think he is" part was really reading as insincere. It read to me as metagaming, while attempting to look like he was scum hunting.
@June: I believe you're misunderstanding me. I'm 99% sure I know who September is. Additionally, his behavior is not scummy in my eyes, despite a number of you supposing that he is. I don't understand your suggestion that I'm attempting to appear as though I'm scum hunting. I'm disagree on points that are mostly related to tonal scummyness, which I believe are both terrible reasons to pursue someone D1 AND are not scummy based on who I believe September is.
ok!!!! so i cross-referenced playstyles versus meta references and behaviors as well as attempted guesses and i am posolutely certain that i can name everybody in this game. some of u guiz r so obvi.
If anyone wants to be outed or guessed by me when the next day comes about, let me know.
Now that I know who is who, I will drop the idiot facade and read the game with identities in mind.
I'll make it fun, though. I'll give my reads with real names.
I feel like Wheat sort of overreacted to being named but that his ability is town.
I don't think Arch would have adopted the posting style he has as scum.
Azrael's early exchanges seem townie, so I like him a little bit for that.
I am leaning town on Jobie due to the way he is pushing his information.
Seppel's posting style amuses me but is very easy to hide behind, so I am wary.
Iso's content is pretty lackluster, but I get the feeling that he's having trouble communicating his ideas through his posting style. More on him when he's outed.
I have a null read on Huntzilla. I am still trying to get a handle on his play style and I have only seen him as an anti-town Neutral once over his handful of times as town and 0 as scum.
I have no read on Necarg.
I have no read on Gentleman Johnny.
Proph's style feels weird. I understand that the minimalism in his posting is to help keep his identity safe but with his early play I just have to . His push on a particular scum read of his seems based in sound theory, though I have seen this read perform some of these actions before as town. I would advise you to turn your sights elsewhere for the time being, Proph.
I don't feel very good about Charm. His early pushes seem fabricated. However, this also means I am likely wrong about one of my scum reads, so I will have to re-analyze after a couple of flip.
DCIII is highly questionable. His early play skeeves me out a bit and I have seen no improvement since.
I would like to be named as early as possible. I would like the gentleman in the DiviFilius/August mask to do this, though I could also hesitantly accept May to do the job, as well.
If either of you gents would like to correspond with me on a time to meet in this thread, I will out myself once we have agreed upon a time and date and at least one of you has confirmed your presence in the thread.

This is super scummy. Instead of posting the pseudo accounts as real reads, this guy decides to list everyone by their real name, and then proceed to assume he knows who each of them are. That is best case scenario. Worst case, he is just making up superficial reads in order to look busy. Both are scummy. Last, it looks like Jan is using this process to fish for people to out themselves to his "reads" on them.
Hang this guy
False. If I were being truly anti-town, I simply would have outed everyone as who they are. I have enough experience with all of you to know who's who and despite my initially incorrect guess of Wheat's identity earlier, I did figure out who he was. I have my reasons for posting my list the way I did, and I would really rather you explain how correctly identifying every player is scummy, as that is what your above post states.
In short, your push is weak and you should feel bad.

I read that the same way as Huntzilla. The only way Jan's post is useful in anyway, is if he does "Apr/Hunt" or the like. Since he didn't the post may as well have been him facerolling gibberish on the keyboard.
In fact, I just don't like Jan's playstyle at all so far.
False. If I were being truly anti-town, I simply would have outed everyone as who they are.
I was about to defend you, until I read this bit. It sounds like you're indignant about being considered acting as anti-town, not indignant about being called scum. That's...not a good sign. Kind of like the caught for wrong reasons tell.
Like, Hunt's case is kinda off, arrogance isn't a scum tell IMO, and I don't think you were trying to fish people out for reads so much as indifferent as to whether you did. Maybe that indifference could come from a scum you. Maybe.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
Also, there is a 0% chance that I will ever be lynched in this game, so I would advise you to go back to scumreading our dear friend February lest you waste your time and energy.
What is this suspicion based on? Whimsy, or something more substantiated?
And, more importantly, why are you so worried about being torn into?
It makes sense, from a design perspective, to use the mechanic of the game to the best of its ability. It's possible that our dear mods didn't come up with things like that, but I'd be surprised if it made it through review without a few suggestions of that nature.
And on the topic of nature, for some unexplained reason, talking about the mafia nightkill is seen as a scummy action.
If anyone not mechanically confirmed tries to Name Jan I will lynch them unless Jan tells me otherwise.
Though I have thought about that a little more and I will accept someone who is very strongly townie who Names me, so long as they ask permission first or I specifically say that they are allowed to Name me.
Now this is a novel plan. Since naming people can provide bonuses, we should only allow protown people to name names. Additionally, it would be good to know, from people who have successfully named names, whether there is extra incentive to name more names.
Novel_Plan's post is most likely coming from a town mindset.

That octopustoes needed to be told what fishing was (and it was a fairly blatant fish at that)is very weird, and makes me think it's deflecting away experience. Implies to me that it's probably someone renowned for his/her scum game and may be trying too hard to ensure they're not found out. Or as comment below, just nerves about being discovered in general.
You Are trying too hard
Also nice fence youre sitting on. With the bolded.
If thou wishest to uncover mine Name, shouldest thou find succor only if thou be Mechanically confirmed. A fervent Wish have I, to find my Name unsheath'd, but it is of Utmost importance that it be Unsheath'd by the correct Master.
Henceforth shall I Treat any attempt to Name me by the unconfirméd to be a Declaration of unsavory attempt which shall End in the death of the Same.
Be there others amongst Us, whom Similar protections desire? So have I requested, so shall I Also grant in Exchange.
With Mine warning giv'n, I do desire to place mine Vote.
so tl;dr you get something, but only if a certain person unmasks you. Either neutral with an alt win con or a locked power role.
Jan has noted since that he's just trying to hide his identity so I'm willing to concede that, but we had no way of knowing that before he posted.
Also, that MaytheForce hasn't responded to novel's question is rather disconcerting. FoS: MaytheForce
Among your crimes we can add your hypocritical FoS. In the first quoted paragraph, you concede that we had no way of knowing before he posted, yet you turn around in your very next sentence, and fos me before I've posted. What gives?
Better yet, why the past tense? It sounds like you're suggesting that you were scum before you got your real name. Compare "What exactly makes you think I'm scum?" and "What exactly do you think made me scum?" Now, there are no alignment-changing rules, but it is a curious language choice. It's possible that the gimmick name could cause a player to have a feeling of hiding something, and thus feel like he's guilty. Conversely, the way Huntzilla jumps out of his shell is like we should all be expecting him to be town. As if this is something he does often. And more specifically, his first question suggests that he expects me to be aware of this pattern, which carries an air of legitimacy, whereas the second question does not. Can someone with more experience tell me if this is, indeed, something Huntzilla does often?
On that note, can we avoid naming people, please? At the risk of being torn into for saying this, I have a strong suspicion that the mafia nightkill operates on real names.
Past tense because of the "transformation" back into "myself." I already stated that it felt like I was hiding while posting under the pseudonym, and that by being named I was "freed" from that feeling. I also attribute the "hiding" feeling to be similar to that of the scum mentality, where you are "hiding" in the town. I didn't particularly like it. I wasn't out to get myself named, I just had a sneaking suspicion that I would easily be named, as I don't sound like anyone else when I post, and I made no effort whatsoever to hide my normal posting style. This is not directly tied to my role in any way, as my role is not affected by being named one way or the other.
This is a good answer, and thank you for elaborating on your meta. As for my response to the mafia nightkill, scroll up. I don't like repeating myself.
The "fence sitting" as you so nicely dubbed it was just airing two potential reasons why someone needs to get named by one specific person. As for neutrals, I more or less just expect one to be around.
Jan has noted since that he's just trying to hide his identity so I'm willing to concede that, but we had no way of knowing that before he posted.

Another note, May STILL hasn't posted since WG's question. May be nothing but probably is something.
You know, you can check the last date someone visited the website just by clicking on their name and viewing their profile. Your language sounds weaker than when you FoS'd me.

Strongly disagree. His motivations seem very townie.
On a final note, I have no desire to name names, and will only do so when someone reputable tells me to name a name.
I remember reading the original case on Sept now that I see it in front of me but I totally forgot it after I read it.
I think there's some good points but I'm still on the fence a bit; I think it depends on who Sept is. In any case I still don't like the idea of lynching Sept toDay.

wheat still scum, no one else sees it tho
lol @ jan, got 12 reads there
Maybe you could try telling everyone else what you see? Or you know, any details about anything you've said so far. Or even opinions on events that have transpired.
There's nothing of substance in your posts and I'm all about substance abuse.
I felt clever because once everyone is revealed as they are, my reads will be given more credibility, IMO.
Wheat, how confident are you that I can name everybody in this game?
Can? Shrug. Should? Definitely not.
Nobody had a chance to talk about whether you should put your reads into play. You simply did it. No fear, no holding back, no second thoughts. No idea what the possible consequences might be. What made you think that was a smart idea? Or did you bother thinking about it all? Vote stands.
If this was an attempt to earn credibility, you've failed.

You are telling me those aren't Iso things!?
(I am actually being sarcastic... in case no one gets it...)
I think May is attempting to look like Iso to bait some name attempts. Poorly.
May was also doing a splendid Azrael impression in his first couple of posts.

@March: Seems to me like the fact that I didn't put all of those into consideration that I would be more likely town, no? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you believe scum are far more calculating?

Hunt-112, For the vote on Jan, you are quite townish, but imo the jan brock vote is tad weak, considering all the other stuff thats been going on in the previous 143 or so posts.
Dec/March... If I was to quote, every post That I disagree with of both of you, I'd be able to right a 7 part novel... One of you is probably scumbuddehs with Septimica_Itis (even if Septemicia isn't Scum, I still think one of you are) I specifically Don't like how you guys quickly voted Jan in that short time frame, it feel Opportunistic...
Hiya! I is here! I didn't get to do RVS so I is sad.
Thoughts:
Jan and Hunt seem to be at each other's throats, so I'll stay away from that.
Feb, may, div, sep, and dec don't give me many signs either way.
March, Wheat, and Octo give me a bit of a town read.
Juunn shouldn't have a double vote this early, but I think it would be too OP for scum to have.

Now this is a novel plan. Since naming people can provide bonuses, we should only allow protown people to name names. Additionally, it would be good to know, from people who have successfully named names, whether there is extra incentive to name more names.
Novel_Plan's post is most likely coming from a town mindset.
You, however, are trying too little.
I strongly agree with OctopusToes.
vote septicemia_itis I agree. And this further solidifies my townread of you.
Hello, Iso. Among your crimes we can add your hypocritical FoS. In the first quoted paragraph, you concede that we had no way of knowing before he posted, yet you turn around in your very next sentence, and fos me before I've posted. What gives? This is a good answer, and thank you for elaborating on your meta. As for my response to the mafia nightkill, scroll up. I don't like repeating myself.
I agree on the first (and last) point, but I'm finding it very hard to believe that novel is scum. Elaborate? As best you can, of course. I'm very happy to see that we're seeing the game from the same perspective.
Additionally, the way Jan is playing gives me townie vibes. Why did you snipe Novel's name when he explicitly said that it should be given to a townie? You know, you can check the last date someone visited the website just by clicking on their name and viewing their profile. Your language sounds weaker than when you FoS'd me.
Strongly disagree. His motivations seem very townie.
On a final note, I have no desire to name names, and will only do so when someone reputable tells me to name a name.
vote Sept
wheat still scum, no one else sees it tho
lol @ jan, got 12 reads there
I think there's some good points but I'm still on the fence a bit; I think it depends on who Sept is. In any case I still don't like the idea of lynching Sept toDay.
So...based on whimsy. I'll pass.
but hold on, what about later on when you said the following:
...Why did you say that you think Juunn is Iso?
I assume you also saw the part where it was decided that people shouldn't name people unless they were actually Naming people. Why did you defy this?
Maybe you could try telling everyone else what you see? Or you know, any details about anything you've said so far. Or even opinions on events that have transpired.
There's nothing of substance in your posts and I'm all about substance abuse.
Sorry. I know I can be incorrigible. But I'm trying to be better about it.
Correct. But you didn't respond to my request; do you want to collaborate at a time in which you could name me?
Either I'm Iso, or Jan rendered the naming avoidance moot. I invite you to take your pick.
Try again.
Wheat, how confident are you that I can name everybody in this game?
/barn
May - if the naming avoidance was moot why did you say that you had no desire to name names at the end of 131?
I see you being wrong about a maximum of two players. I think chances are pretty good you can name them all.
Can? Shrug.
But Wheat, he created a huge quote wall!!!
and there is this...
Emphasis mine.
You are telling me those aren't Iso things!?
(I am actually being sarcastic... in case no one gets it...)
I think May is attempting to look like Iso to bait some name attempts. Poorly.
-
@March: Seems to me like the fact that I didn't put all of those into consideration that I would be more likely town, no? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you believe scum are far more calculating?
Are You really accusing May of lurking, When the game has only been open for a few Days????
Thoughts
Hunt-112, For the vote on Jan, you are quite townish, but imo the jan brock vote is tad weak, considering all the other stuff thats been going on in the previous 143 or so posts.
Dec/March... If I was to quote, every post That I disagree with of both of you, I'd be able to right a 7 part novel... One of you is probably scumbuddehs with Septimica_Itis (even if Septemicia isn't Scum, I still think one of you are) I specifically Don't like how you guys quickly voted Jan in that short time frame, it feel Opportunistic...
So, If Wheat is scum, How does he have a role that can give Out a Double Vote???
YuLying2Me has been prodded.
