Slap Fight: 5 cards, no land rule
The following continuous abilities are in effect: Prevent all damage except combat damage. Each creature has base power 1 and can't have its power increased above 1.
Additional banned list: Leyline of Punishment
With the additional rule "damage prevention can't be prevented"?
Nah, I think getting around the rule with damage that can't be prevented is fine, as long as you have to put in the work to cast it. The Leyline is the only card I saw that was obviously too easy to break the rules with.
vs. 01 BronYAur: I can cast a spell, but Lich loses to Elemental post doing stuff. 2-2
vs. 02 CalvinSchwa: I am WAY too slow to ever beat Lich's Mirror. 6-0
vs. 03 HerziQuerzi: I implode horribly to the Omen Machine/Cascade. 6-0
vs. 04 InfiniteNutshell: He is slower and uninteractive. 0-6
vs. 05 nerdyjoe: We both gain life better than we deal damage. 2-2
vs. 06 Personman: Sadly, I CAN just cast Nefarious Lich and then play many many lands. 0-6
vs. 07 tomsloger: Damage makes Lich kill moi. 6-0
I don't know what you mean about casting Lich and playing many lands. What do the lands let you do? You can't gain life, so you can't cast Xathrid, so you can't win. What am I missing?
LOSS: 1BranYAur : Yeah, your deck 6-0s mine. I cast spells.
--: 2CalvinSchwa : -
TIE?: 3HerziQuerzi : Karma / Omen Machine / Temporal Cascade / Island ... Actually, there is a way your deck could tie with mine. If your deck plays an Omen Machine and my Lich's Mirror goes off, I fail to draw my seven. Since shuffling will be as bad as possible for my deck (since it controlled the shuffle effect: Mirror), naturally Blessing of Leeches will be on top of my library for my next draw step. It will get exiled, but have no legal targets, meaning it just gets left in exile where nobody can get it back. At that point, the game stalls -- without Karma out, there's no longer any way for my deck to win. (I mean, your deck could have chosen to play Karma, but playing it would lead to a loss eventually and not playing it leads to a tie -- so in a game with perfect information, I see no reason why anyone would cast it.) Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this?
WIN: 4InfiniteNutshell : Pretty sure my deck is slower. I calculated about 470 turns or so for my deck, while yours looks to be about 400. Look the same to you?
TIE: 5nerdyjoe : See nerdyjoe's post above. I couldn't see anything he didn't.
LOSS: 6Personman : Yes, I do indeed got enchantments.
LOSS: 7tomsloger : Damage won't kill me with Mirror -- heck, I want to take damage. I was really hoping I'd face more Battle of Wits. /facepalm
LOSS: 8WhammeWhamme : Xathrid Demon / Nefarious Lich / Nourishing Shoal / Keldon Megaliths.
I'm not sure how Nefarious Lich helps here, since Xathrid Demon is life-loss, not damage per-se. Regardless, you seem to be trying to kill with Keldon Megaliths, which is a no-go with Mirror.
I'm not sure how scoring works. Is a tie always 2? Here's my attempt, please correct if wrong:
0 X 2? 6 2 0 0 0
Yeah, Lich's Mirror didn't work out. Good experiment, I suppose!

4 InfiniteNutshell
Curse of the Cabal / Battle of Wits / Forbidden Crypt / Penance
Yeah this only takes about 2/3 as long as I thought, because I thought I'd need to hardcast Curse with 400 permanents already out, and didn't consider pitching the lands to the suspend effect directly. 400-ish turns is still ok I guess, but there are some impressively slow combos in the field this week : )
X | 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 |
4 | 0 0 2 X 0 0 6 6 | 14
vs 1: Wits comes down as soon as Elemental does. 0-6
vs 2: Our decks don't interact at all, and Wits is the faster combo. 0-6
vs 3: Curse and Crypt can't hit the board without a Swamp out, and Omen Machine wrecks the Penance combo's ability to build up a library. So my deck can't win, but your deck can't win unless I give in and play a Swamp. So we stare at each other forever. 2-2
vs 5: If you suspend Curse, I blow up Kelp every turn and kill you quickly with Kelpshooter. So you have to wait to hardcast it and sac 200ish lands all at once. But then I can't interact with you at all and the Kelpshooter combo is waaay slower. 0-6
vs 6: Once Wits hits the board Wirecat is stuck. 0-6
vs 7: We don't interact, but for once I made the slower deck. 6-0
vs 8: This was confusing because Nefarious Lich's abilities are mostly irrelevant, but I figured out how it works: in order to survive having Xathrid Demon on the board long enough to kill with Megaliths, I need to get to about 140 life with Nourishing Shoal before I dump my hand. That's faster than Curse by quite a lot. 6-0
3v1 - You don't play anything, I'm denied my swamp. 2-2
3v2 - Only playing Omen Mirror forces the draw.. 2-2
X
3v4 - You play nothing. I'm denied my swamp. 2-2
3v5 - Again, playing nothing denies me my swamp. 2-2
3v6 - A SWAMP. 0-6
3v7 - You don't need black mana, and I don't interfere with your strat. 6-0
3v8 - Damn, you can't even play nothing to force the draw, since I can force the Demon. 0-6
I should've realized most people would be playing suicide tech, and that most suicide tech requires black mana. Alas.
3v2 - My Karma speeds up your suicide tech, but due to Lich's mirror, that only speeds up your victory. 6-0
Did you see my post earlier? If you don't play Karma, you can tie me by getting rid of Blessing through Omen Machine. So, I think our decks tie. Did I miss something here?

I edited to reflect your breakdown almost immediately. You miraculously + unfortunately got in before said edit went live.

You are smarter than I, Personman. I forgot how bad I made my deck! Yay! I tie with Wirecat.
And, Calvin Schwa, the Nefarious Lich is there because it was the most self-crippling card I could find. I have to cast Nefarious Lich and Xathrid Demon to be able to activate Megaliths, which means if my opponent can deal 2 damage after I try to go off, I die, no matter how much life I gained with Shoal.
