When ETB or attacks, put a -1/-1 counter on up to one target creature.
Creatures your opponents control with -1/-1 counters on them can't block.

Seems very decent, no? Killing X/1s on ETB or attack, or anything bigger can no longer block and is permanently shrunk, messing with combat math in either direction. Should be interesting removal and good for forcing through damage. I may test as I'm lacking black 3 drops, and as much as the Jurassic Park tie-in doesn't interest me, this was an iconic scene and a great card design.
I like the card and the design. It's a unique take that's part Fire Imp and part Ahn-Crop Crasher. Should be a good combination of abilities to help aggro decks out in some difficult midrange matchups, where you can both ping dorks and stop big monsters from blocking your team.
It's good against aggro as it can pick off 2/1's, it's good against midrange as it can make fatties unable to block, and it picks off control decks' small utility creatures. Because the effect activates on attack, you don't feel bad playing this on an empty board either.
While you need to attack to get more than one trigger, it's very hard to stop this from attacking. You need to hold two creatures back to block, and even then a removal spell on one results in the other getting shrunk, you're just falling further behind. Even if you are on the defense, this can pick off a creature on ETB and trade the next attack phase, like Plague Engineer.
Yeah I'm into this card. If you support black agro I think this is a slam dunk. If you don't , it's probably worth a test as a generic good stuff card for agressive slanted 2+ color agro/midrange decks. It's a great sideboard card for any black deck, as it shreds any deck with a lot of x/1's.
It plays in the same space as plague engineer/night clubber, but is more aggressively slanted.
I've moved away from black agro so I was on the fence, but now I have a little more time to think about the card, the more I like it.
Gonna test.

Got a couple cubes in. I played the dilophosaur in a WB agro/midrange deck, it felt very good. It played on the upper end of the prediction spectrum where I thought it would be.
It basically had to be killed if the opponent had any chance of effectively blocking my creatures and it could guarantee value with sniping X/1's. There's a lot of X/1's in my cube.
Small sample, but I'm confident enough to call this an auto-include even in cubes that don't support low to the ground black agro as a primary archetype. (In my cube, black is an agressive support color and a midrange color)
This card is awesome. The blocking disruption is great, the repeatable -1/-1 counter engine is great, and it has a huge impact on the games it resolved in. Feels like a Liliana, the Last Hope that can attack, lol.

I feel we have so many ways to punish X/1s that someone made the case that Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer isn't even a top tier card anymore.
