I must say I played an unhealthy amount of cube during wizards latest iteration and the card that impressed me the most by FAR that I didnt look twice at in an unpowered cube was Ancient grudge.
Now, there is a lot more artifact mana in wizards cube relative to most cubes here so its at it's maximum value in that cube.
All the best decks I ever built or I saw win 3-0 had SOME artifact mana that was crucial to their operating.
An extremly cheap 2 for 1 that was relevant against all the powerful decks was something I ended up picking very highly and main decking.
I am not advocating including this card in most cubes, but if your fast mana ratio approaches the wizards cube... I think it's a crime not to include it.
I prefer to get my artifact destruction card advantage by attaching it to a creature. I'd rather blow up one artifact and have a creature behind than blow up a second artifact in most of my red decks. Compare to Tin Street Hooligan, for example. I'd rather blow up their Mox and have a dude left over than kill a Signet later on.

I think it's a good card for larger cubes, such as the 720 MODO runs, but it's tough to find room the smaller your cube size gets.
Good to know. I don't think it's a bad card at that spot, if it's your preference. You could argue it being better than a lot of the RG cards, and vice versa. RG is extremely underwhelming.

I don't agree. I think RG has some pretty great cards in it.

Lemme rephrase: I think the RG cards are pretty good overall, but after the top 2 (BBE and Kird Ape) it's kind of up-in-the-air what you run and based on preference. Like, if you only had 4 multicolored spells for each, I wouldn't fault you for running a lot of difference cards in spots #3 & #4. There is nothing that sticks out that makes me say "you need to run this" in those spots over other cards. By "extremely underwhelming" I meant that there aren't a lot of easy choices for the tops of the list as there's nothing that really stands out.
I think the MODO holiday cube was overstocked on artifacts, and many decks relied on them to function. In my later drafts I was maindecking all the artifact hate I drew and always had a target. Ancient Grudge was pretty good in that cube.
I don't feel it is necessary in my own cube, however, as there are a greater number of decks that will often lack relevant targets (i.e. aggro).

I see the logic in that, but for a lot decks that aren't looking to kill as fast as possible (altho most decks with R/G in them probably are) ; the body is pretty bad.
If there is a high % chance you running into 2+ artifacts a game in the average deck, I'd rather have another destroy target artifact.
It requires a pretty absurd amount of fast mana for this to be true tho... Just think the wizards cube has that.
I think the average deck would rather run the body (that can trade with a creature or go on the beatdown) than have the flashback on the Grudge. I know I'd rather play the Hooligan in all my RG decks anyways. YMMV.
In the early days of my cube i ran this in a blackgreen reanimator deck. Discarded it and played it to destroy a vedalken shackles. I've since removed it but flinthoof boar really doesnt impress me.

By the way, what can I do with all my Cube Tix?

Sadly, nothing, until cube comes back.
I used to write cube articles on StarCityGames, now for GatheringMagic and podcast about cube (w/Antknee42.)
