Vote for the poem(s) you feel is the best (up to two). Remember to adhere to the "Honor Code" when voting.
While it is understood there is no absolute means to monitor the intent of a vote, we ask each PRC participant to exercise integrity when voting out of respect for the contest:
- Please give each poetry submission an equal opportunity in attaining your vote.
- Please read, or at least skim, all the entries before voting.
- Please do not vote for your friends just because they're your friends.
The Poetry Running Contest puts good faith in its participants to act in an honorable manner.
Contestants, remember, you are required to vote (and you can't vote for yourself)!
Also, please leave a comment on this thread telling who you voted for as currently the polling system does not currently have the option to display that information.
Thank you and Happy voting!

Crusible: don't care for this cadence; personal preference
Ilvaldi: wow
SNL: too forced for a treatment of the seven sins
Ophidian: word choice sticks out like a sore thumb against the poem itself
TMCT: too heavyhanded for the payoff
Ilvaldi's is the only one of the five that I love this round.
Crusible, because I couldn't help reading the lines in staccato bursts, as if the poem itself had a hard time articulating its thoughts on the blurry year, like the memory of a memory was fading. It's strangely elegant because our memories are just recollections of our memories, so there is a beauty on display of the fallacy of the human mind.
This round was pretty stellar. I think every single poem had aspects which I really liked. My votes went to Ilvaldi and Crusible. How did a year pass? resonated with me; Dreamgirl was a pleasure to read, with charming imagery and excellent flow like most of Ilvaldi's poems.
Here are the Poetry submissions for this week:
Untitled by The Most Curious Thing
Untitled by Ophidian Eye
Seven-and-a-Half Murders by SelesnyaNewLife
Dreamgirl by Ilvaldi
How did a year pass? by Crusible
