Ok, so I'm a convert from the Yu-gi-oh camp and I've noticed what feels like a severe lack of bad card related humor on the MTG side of things.
I'm going to go on a bit of a tangent about some hideously bad Yu-gi-oh cards and other such YGO related memes now, as to give a bit of background on the things I'm talking about, so if you don't really care about that, don't read the spoiler text.
Take for example cards like Skull Servant. Skull Servant was virtually useless when it was printed way back in the very first set. It's only possible purpose was to fuse into Flame Ghost which was arguably worse than SS itself. When Pojo did a Card of the Day feature for Skull servant back in 2002, I thought it was one of the funniest things I had ever seen in my 12 years of living.
Skull Servant's Memetic Mutation got so ridiculous that several support cards have been printed (King of the Skull Servants, The Lady in Wight, Wightmare) and it's actually possible to make a Skull Servant deck, though I'm so far removed from the meta game that I have no idea rather it's good or not.
Some time after Skull Servant, players were given Shapesnatch arguably one of the worst cards ever released for the TCG(the American release of the game) and absolutely inexcusably bad for the point in the game that it was printed.
For the uninitiated, the stars above the creature art represent monster level. Any creature above level 4 required you to sacrifice a monster to summon, so Shapesnatch requires you to sac a creature to summon it. The problem is the baseline atk for a competitive level 4 vanilla monster at the point in time was 1800-1900.
tl;dr Shapesnatch is so far below the baseline for it's level it surpassed "not even funny" and looped back around to being funny again.
There are other YGO related memes that stick out to me like...
Response: "Dude, all you need is combos and the thing to remember about combos is this: the more cards, the better. Just look at Exodia! He's a five card combo and he wins the game."
So what I'm looking for are any sort of hilariously bad cards that have evolved into memetic powerhouses and some of the more quotable one liner responses and pithy jokes born out of repetitive scenarios (I've heard "Dies to removal" but nothing much else.)
So yeah... I guess I'll just let this peter out into nothing...
Chimney Imp is referenced in almost every mtg discussion as being the worst card ever. An overcostsed card with little to no impact on the game, it's been joked about as being amazing in an effort to parody it's terribleness. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEVSahgCegk

Power 9 Pro - A Magic Company by Magic players for Magic Players. Come check out the Dragon's Egg, the latest in deck storage technology.
Thing is, since Magic doesn't have cards based on other cards (like, y'know, every Fusion Monster in YGO), most bad cards stay bad--and the ones that turn out to be good often get so good that they annoy everyone.
Although I suggest checking out this thread. I dunno if you've played enough to get all the references, but it has a lot of the kind of stuff you're asking about with repetitive things.
here are some really really bad mtg cards.... [CARDS]
#10
Nameess Race – 1994
Don’t even bother reading the microscopic print on this one unless, you’re playing against a pure white deck. May I suggest a Minion of the Wastes if you are truly interested in this card? This card is a 100% dead draw unless you’ve got a solid chunk of life, and your opponent has a solid chunk of white permanents, which is not a likely combo. Too bad it looks and sounds so cool. (a good sideboard at best)
#9
Zephyr Spirit – 2005
Huh? 6 mana for this? is this card misprinted?! There’s about 500 other casts that cost the same and could potentially win you the game. not only is this card a 0/6 for the cost of a normal 5/5 or even a 5/6 flier, it goes back to your hand after you use it!
#8
Leeches – 1995
One of the infamous Homelands rares, this card sucks. It sounds kinda cool, but take into consideration that there were, like 2, cards that produced poison counters when this card was printed. And the way poison counters work, you still take damage when the counters are added, so, assuming all the creatures that damaged you were 1/1’s, to remove 8 poison counters, you would have a net loss of 16 life already. And who uses poison counters anyway?
#7
Untaidake, the Cloud Keeper – 2004
I remember getting one of these in a booster once. First I struggled attempting to say the name correctly several times. Then I got excited, because Legendary usually implies “good” and continued reading. And I read it again. Huh? Wouldn’t it just make more sense just to put, um, a normal land in? and 2 colorless isn’t going to help you in a sticky situation…
#6
Mudhole – 2001
What a dead draw. Bleh. This card has been the punchline of bad magic card jokes since the day it was printed. Maybe the shutdown to that Life from the Loam deck you are playing, but besides that it belongs nowhere but this list.
#5
Seafarer’s Quay & All it’s friends – 1994
They made one of these for each color. This cards has been deterring magic players from the game since 1994. Need I say anything else? Yuck.
#4
Wood Elemental – 1994
Hmm. 4 mana to cast a 0/0. If I sacrifice my UNTAPPED forest it’ll be a 1/1 for 5. I could morph up an Exalted Angel for less than this guy, and save my land. You’d be crazy to ever even consider using this card in a deck. the best use for it would be storm fodder. oh wait, it costs 4!! … The bicycle spokes would be the best place for this one.
HAHHAH I asked myself , what is a contraption,,, As i Was reading the info , its a new kind of artifact, the bad thing is , there is none at this moment. What a waste of card space.

In all magic history their is at least one card (even one rare) per set that are quite bad and are really in any kind of deck
(some may have rare use of casual or very specific build)

Noob: "How do I make a deck that uses both Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon and Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon?" (or other equally impossible deck clearly showing heavy influence from the anime.)

Do you know how many games Cylian Sunsinger won me in limited?
Regardless, if you want bad cards, Look at the set Homelands.
My favorite abysmal cards is the Great Wall cycle and the Cathedral of Serra cycle.
