In the land of [blank], a person isn't judged solely by the accomplishments. The Present only tells one side of the story. Your Past, your ancestors, these tell of what has made you what you are. They define your goals, and your morals. Your Future, your potential, know both a man's Present and his Past, and you can uncover their future the same way the clearness of a lake tells you how little can survive -- Except from the lectures of the Runes of Killoren, Noble Human Wizard of the Circle of the Brack.
In the land of [blank], a few races actually exit. In the mountains the Dragons encircle, with spirits strong and wills stronger. They say Vele'er was the first Mortal to ascend to Godhood, though little good godhood does a dragon when you're buried under your own Gold. Dragons are individualistic, often reject help from any unless they consider themselves equal, and a Dragon's pride is too strong to see any as equal.
Scurrying about the steeps of the rocky cliffs and canyons, are the Kobolds. The size of a child, with ears like a rabbits and teeth like a Dragon's, little is known of these cretins. We know they can speak, and they can write, We know they can trade, and they can steal. But their communities themselves seem to be made of madness. Kobolds feed on the earth itself, prized gemstones becoming delectable treats for them, turning currency into nourishment and back again. Kobolds appear without intellect, but their knowledge of the earth seems almost masterful. a Kobold Miner could dig his way to the center of the earth, though I doubt one would know how to get back up if he could. Perhaps if they had the right leadership, one could see great things come from the Kobolds.
Then there's the Dromada, elves I think you call them. They worry me. Lolothot has ruled her people for nearly 3 centuries now. Her godhood, while lesser, is clear and evident, and the Dromada are the only race to be led by a God. We at the circle of the Brack take guidance and service from the "Waters of Undreamed Dreams", but we do not serve that deity quite like the Dramada serve Lolothot. They hold eerie rituals in her honor, work with poisons that seem excessive for hunting, and seem to all but reject anyone who shows weakness, it is an eerie lot we pray nevers decides to seek access to our archives.
Now, if you follow the rivers that run below the earth, i know, it can be tricky, you'll eventually find yourself at the shoreline. It's a week's walk, but the river makes it quicker if you can swim upstream like the Merfolk can. We do extensive trade with the Merfolk for fish and bone tools they craft in exchange for our extensive knowledge of farming and husbandry. They are much more powerful mages than us, their drive and passion is as strong as the typhoons they can summon.
Humans sit around [blank], scattered among the lands. It was only recently that enough of a force could unite them all under one leader. For as long as I remember, humans have been forced to rely on the spirits to protect themselves, which isn't safe anymore. Back in the day, a good enough Shaman from Vaph's Chosen was enough to protect a human village from roaming Demons or Dragons, but after the Demons began organizing themselves, it became too dangerous to leave it to simple Shamans. The Coalition of Uma Terra has often sought the Circle's help in keeping the fight strong, but these forces fight an uphill battle against the Demons. We've told them several times, do not reject the spirits, their power can rival that of a Demon if bonded to a Shaman.
What's a Demon you ask? You must no, oh, you know of demons? Well, to ease your confusion, a Demon is no different than a Spirit, both beings form from life itself. However, while a Spirit may reside in Reina's Kingdom, staying among us mortals to help protect us, a Demon is cruel, born of ill thoughts and vile means. a spirit that becomes a demon is a spirit born from the heart of a truly horrible man, one who rejects his fellow for personal success.A Demon could bond with a mortal like a Spirit could, but what advantage would that give them? Unlike a Spirit, a Demon is more than capable of killing an armored man in a single blow.
Now, long long ago, the Demons did try to Bond with mortals. But unlike the relationship between a Spirit and a Shaman, this union was not healthy. The demons would drive the will and spirit of the host from their husk, leaving just the Demon behind. The Demon's energies would fill the body of the mortal, and the Vampyres were born. Much of the host's mind remains, it shapes how the Demon prefers to do their actions. but the morals, the "humanity" as the Coalition calls it, is gone.
If only the Demons were the only real danger to this land, but it seems there's another like you. She calls herself Mira Mox I believe. She runs a cult out of the city of Oma, running the city like she owned it. She offers great power in exchange for obedience. Her followers worship her like a god, though i guess your spirits are grand enough to call yourselves "gods".
Well, thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts. I'll leave to to discuss more with a brother of our Circle.
