Star Wars the Gathering focuses on a flavorful, and rich limited environment, featuring characters and locations you know from the Star Wars universe.
The set is shard based, with each shard having a unique mechanic.
Bant is the Jedi Order. They are based around flickering and bouncing with their mechanic 'Meditate' which allows you reuse Jedi's many enter and leave the battlefield triggers to give you versatility throughout the game.
Grixis is the Sith Empire. They have a flexible game plan featuring cards that cause your opponents to lose life, their mechanic 'Hate' triggers whenever an opponent loses life from a non combat source, allowing you to get extra value out of your burn.
Jund is the Outer Rim criminals and bounty hunters. They typically will go for a midrange deck based around gunning down opposing creatures. Their mechanic 'Bounty' requires a bit of set up, but offers great rewards whenever you kill an opponent's creature that has a bounty counter on it.
Naya is the Wild creatures featured in Star Wars. They focus on having better creatures than your opponent through many token makers, and their mechanic returning from Theros 'Monstrous', which allows you get late game value from early game creatures.
Esper is the Separatist Federation and their droid army. They focus on artifacts and advantages through sacrificing and reusing creatures. Their mechanic is 'Repair' that allows you recast a droid that has died several turns down the line.
The set's last mechanic is 'Spaceflight', a re-flavored version of shadow, used to represent the space battles of Star Wars.
Hate I don't like. Firstly it's pretty narrow, there's not going to be very many ways to trigger it other than in red, which is the second issue, it's a stretch in black and just not blue at all. An alternate suggestion is Hate- Whenever you cast a spell that targets a spell or permanent an opponent controls, (effect)
For black, this would work with creature removal, blue with bounce and counterspells and red with burn. There's other effects as well, but that would be the basis if you were to use this.
One little flavor tweak I would make, and it adjusts the wording of a card as well. It concerns the Death Star land. For the last ability, it is impossible to "destroy" a player but it certainly makes sense because the Death Star blows up entire planets. However, this does not work for Magic. Instead of "destroy target player", it should be "You win the game."
Everything else looks great and I also agree with thinking about DJK3654 suggestion for Hate.
Oh man, I really, really like Hate. Lots of cool stuff to do with that. Totally nailed it one what factions got what shards too. Repair is interesting, nice blend of mechanics.
Haha holy ***** Han has first strike that's perfect. The flavor on Grievous is pitch perfect too. Pretty nicely balanced, cool combo of abilities, still very strong.
These cards are beautiful! I really like a lot of what you've done here. Spaceflight is brilliant, and the starship cards look fantastic in the future shifted frames. Kudos! At some point I may need to take a closer look at this. Keep up the good work.

I agree with DJK3654 about hate. I know you have already designed a number of black and blue cards to enable hate, so you may not feel like making such a large change. However If you had to do it over I think you should have.
Not to pile on, but I also agree on the hate thing.
Edit: BTW, I love the flavor of Ion Cannon. Also, I didn't notice a Vader card. Creature Anakin transforming into planeswalker Vader would be perfect. I know you don't have transform in the set, but it seems like it would be ok still. Sorry if I just missed the Vader card. I don't have time to look at this as closely as I'd like.

Don't worry I am planning to make Darth Vader a card, just hard to nail exactly what he should do. Vader will be the Grixis mythic creature. I like the idea about Anakin flipping to Vader, but it's just a little bit weird in a set without any other flip cards.
Origins had an entire cycle of transforming planeswalkers, which is different than just one. That said, I still think that's the way you should do Anakin/Vader. If you're using realism as reason not to do it, a Star Wars set isn't realistic, but it doesn't make it any less awesome. I think you can get away with one little slip in design realism if you want to. Of course that's what ultimately matters, what you want, it's your set, I'm just a fan.

A blue 'you control target creature' ability would be appropriate to the set. I'm not sure that naming it 'Jedi Mind Trick' makes sense, though; that sounds more like it's a twiddle ('tap or untap target creature').
My interpreation of WhinyTortoise's concern was that it would be weird to have a flip card in a set that does not "feature" the mechanic, as Innistrad did. Origins is clearly a fitting example of how, when used for the right purpose, mechanics can be features on only a few cards and remain part of a cohesive whole.
It wouldn't be unrealistic or a "slip in design" to include something that isn't part of a cycle. Cycles are great, but to artifically create such a restriction would be a grevious overreaction. Notice, for instance, how non core sets never have a full cycle of planeswalkers.
I see you went with the Anakin creature transforming into the Vader planeswalker idea. Awesome!

Don't know if this is a finished set yet, but I'll add some thoughts here cause SW Set sounds great
---
I liked the fact that Sidious can just stack emblems with his low cost abilities, so you'd be drawing and discarding a lot, or dealing some interesting damage to creatures.
Jabba has an ability that says up to one creature. I understand it's worded like that to make it usable when the opponents have no creatures, but I think just "You may..." at the beginning already did that.
For Count Dooku, I think you need to specify until what phase of the turn the first ability lasts.
Greater Krayt Dragon... the monstrosity cost with X=0 would be very low, and having many +1/+1 counters on other creatures could cause huge card drawings for a nonblue/nonblack effect... The Battle of Endor or Qui-Gon Jinn could make the number of counters skyrocket and the dragon might end up drawing 10+ cards lol. Maybe you could make the player draw X cards instead, so one would cost 5, two would cost 7, three would probably be nearly the limit on a regular game, at 9 mana.
For Death Star, as previously suggested, instead of "destroy target player", you could use "target player loses the game". I don't think wording it like "you win the game" is the best idea, cause you could be playing with more than two people, so you only 'destroy' one of them.
I like the effect of a creature not being able to block on Darth Maul, but triggering it requires another spell or effect for something that is not so great. He's a CMC 3 though... Rocket Trooper is a good partner for Darth Maul. About the way it's worded, I think the usual way to do that is saying a player chooses a creature, instead of targeting it, but it doesn't seem to break anything like this, just not affect shroud/hexproof/protection.
Thinking about Hate, I didn't see it on non-Red things... if you planned it to be a completely red dependant mechanic it's not bad, but having monoblack/monoblue things with Hate would be weird to use. (I remember in ancient expansions there was a 2U thing that dealt 4 damage to target player and 2 to yourself xD)
Scry X on Force Lightning is SCARY. That's one thing to test lol
Bombing Run + Admiral Ackbar Very interesting combo vs creatures.
A question: would Jango Fett attacking effect (causing damage to the opponent) trigger other creatures' Hate?
For Nute Gunray, it seems like it would draw too many cards, because when you sacrifice an artifact and put a Battle Droid, it's ALSO an artifact. Maybe you could have his first ability be "Whenever a nontoken artifact enters the battlefield under your control, draw a card." Also, I think the text for putting the Battle Droid token should state it's an artifact creature token. Same goes for other places where the text states you put tokens (such as Tank Droid). Trade Federation Battleship has the types specified.
Beast Riders of Onderon is very interesting. Was there anything that removed the "monstrous" status before? The fact that you can activate it again without losing the previous effects needs testing though... especially the card drawing effect of the Greater Krayt Dragon!
Flames of Rememberance's last sentence is weird. Did you mean the player may play those cards without paying their mana cost or as if they were in the player's hand?
March of the Droids seems incredibly easy to abuse, but I'm not an artifacts specialist, so I'd say it needs testing.
For Jar Jar Binks, you have to fix the text so it says the caster may choose an opponent, or target opponent. The way it is, there's no way to define which opponent takes control of it.
I like the rebel theme on Leia!!
Blind Worship seems too powerful imo. What happens if you side a creature with this Aura and Chewbacca?? Would the creature get +4/+4 from Chewbacca and add its power+4 to all others? If these things stack... OMG (and what happens if you have 2 of this on the battlefield?? lol)
Hunt to Extinction deals damage to your creatures too? That could probably kill your things with Bounty, which would make it pointless (I know there are noncreature things with Bounty, but most are creatures). Also, it seems very not green. You could change the whole thing into something like "put a bounty counter on target creature and deal 1 damage to it for each creature you control". It would fit the black/red/green more, preserve your creatures, but would probably have to have its cost reduced.
Images of the past is a way to trigger a creture's "enters the battlefield" effect once more? But what happens when that's done? It's a dead enchantment? What if you added Meditate 1 or even 0 to it?

Bounty is cool. Although might be hard t I trigger but i get its appeal.
For the droids? Im not sure, been a while since i saw star wars need to watch it again. (ill get back to you)

RUNIN: Norse mythology set (awaiting further playtesting)
FATE of ALARA: Multicolour factions (currently on hiatus)
Contibutor to the Pyrulea community set
I'm here to tell you that all your set mechanics are bad

Finished all the commons, but of course they are up for revision.
Added some new cycles at uncommon that should be very fun for limited.
Any ideas on fleshing out the uncommons, and rares would be great for the final stretch of finishing the first draft of the set.

I was wondering what kind of draft proportions you recommend. I was thinking on a 360 card setup:
Commons x2 + 3 (207 commons)
Uncommons x1 (80 uncommons)
Rares x1 + 1 (73 rares)
This allows us to craft 15 card booster packs with aprox. 9 commons, 3 Uncommons and 3 Rares
Do you have any template for printouts?
Thank you very much for such a masterwork set!
Cheers,
Traldar
Great Set, very flavourful! Some people and I would like to draft it, would it be ok to add it to http://webdrafter.geogen.cz/ ?
