Cards with triggers that wouldn't normally trigger from themselves will just use "a [creature]", but other type/color/PT/etc changing cards might be able to make those cards apply to themselves. For example:
- If you control an Opalescence and then you cast a Warstorm Surge, Warstorm Surge will be a creature as it enters and it will trigger its own ability.
- If you control an Enchanted Evening and then you cast an Ajani's Chosen, Ajani's Chosen will be an enchantment as it enters and it will trigger its own ability.
- If an opponent controls an Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and then you cast a Sigil Captain, Sigil Captain will be a 1/1 creature as it enters and it will trigger its own ability.
- If you control a Xenograft set to Beast and then you cast a Wirewood Savage, Xenograft be a Beast as it enters and it will trigger its own ability.
Thanks! I actually kind of took the wording of cards like Kitefins as evidence that I wouldn't need to specify "another" in this instance, but shows what I know.

Hypothetical Creature CC
Creature - Whatever
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, draw a card.
?/?
As it's currently worded, would you draw a card when it enters the battlefield? My thinking would be "no" but I've been wrong before.
If you want it to exclude itself from the trigger, then use the wording:
(Foundry Street Denizen, Garruk's Packleader, etc])
Printed cards that are intended to trigger from themselves or another creature make it explicit so there is no misunderstanding:
(Kapsho Kitefins, Agent of Erebos, etc.)
