Hey, thanks for pointing out that I don't know how to read *tears* this is what I get for checking the forums at almost 2 in the morning. I thought it put tokens into play with one power less (so a 5/5 becomes a 4/5) and I'm sure there's a way to do it but then it becomes way too much effort.

Sorry, it's just that other people were posting a shroud creature right before that. How hard is it to understand the card? Anyway, it actually brings up an interesting concept, Cumber Stone was mentioned but something like Meishin, the Mind Cage would help you be able to copy almost anything.
I love the flavor of this card. It all gels so well!
Mechanics wise, its a shame about Halimar Excavator... other than that guy and the other power 1 allies, I would use Enumerate to copy pingers like Cunning Sparkmage
Make it Sorcery speed too imo.
Like everyone else has said already, this card's concept is great, but it'd be rather bonkers in combination with some cheap and easy cards, like Halimar Excavator and such. I guess it's easy enough to stop if you have instant speed removal, but if you don't...bad news bears.
Anyway, the card's got great flavor, appropriate art, meh flavor text (I BELIEVE I have you surrounded? Don't sound too sure...), so it doesn't necessarily have to be 100% balanced, so it's a winner in my book. Neat idea.

The wording is what makes that flavour text imo. "I have you surrounded" is boring because it's the truth - there's nothing humourous about it. "I believe I have you surrrounded" implies (to me at least) a mage that's just completely overwhelmed his enemy and just gives a little smirk and says "I believe I have you surrounded", sardonically.

Imho, I believe it should be "target creature you control," or bump up the cmc by 1. But, overall, I really like the flavor and mechanics of this card. Very nice job.
Personally I thought it should cost 1 more too. I'll be shocked and pleasantly surprised if any mana cost poll we run doesn't pick the cheapest mana cost we post, though.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
can you imagine playing this, targeting a manland thats turned on???
lol hasnt there only ever been one manland ever printed with 1 or less power
and there are way too many good targets to credit only one of them
my favorite wall would be of reverence
but the ally idea all you have to do is to choose to not put a counter on your first kazandu blademaster you dont have to play it before the counter triggers...
If this was a Sorcery, it could see print tommorrow. That's what keeps Polymorph decks in check (which try to win on turn 3 or 4 instead of turn 5 or 6).
In fact, if this was a sorcery, I wouldn't even blink twice at the card. It'd be good, but not broken, very fun, and easily non-broken.

This guy, would either eat up several turns worth of mana to get a slow permanent that relies on your already have some board presence (after wasting said mana), or dies without generating any advantage.

That usually has more room to be wildly inappropriate.
And if not, just a terrible, boring card.
So I'm more impressed.

I'm not sure how better to explain it.

Well the card gives you 4 tokens, not 5, but yes you would get unanimated land tokens, that also enter the battlefield tapped.

I'd say it's very reasonable for it's cost.
