have both won the Card Creation League July Contest!
Voting is open until Saturday, August 20 23:59 CDT
Anyone who votes here receives 2 Bonus Points in August’s CCL!
UPDATE: Contestants may vote in this poll.
We have three finalists: bravelion83, Flatline, theazurespirit.
The final round challenge was to create four kicker cards. Vote for whom you think designed the best cards!
(Voting will remain open for about a week.)
What is Kicker? Kicker is a keyword ability that represents an optional additional cost.
A spell has been kicked if its controller declared the intention to pay any or
all of its kicker costs.
Supremacy of Nature1GG
Enchantment (M)
Kicker 3GG(You may pay an additional 3GG as you cast this spell.)
When Supremacy of Nature enters the battlefield, if it was kicked, search your library for up to three green creature cards with different names and reveal them. Put those cards into your hand, then shuffle your library.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control fifteen or more green creatures, you win the game.
Bloodthirsty Dragon4RR
Creature — Dragon (M)
Kicker 2R(You may pay an additional 2R as you cast this spell.)
Bloodthirsty Dragon enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the damage dealt to your opponents this turn. If Bloodthirsty Dragon was kicked, it enters the battlefield with twice that many +1/+1 counters instead.
Flying, trample
3/3
Split Fire1R
Instant (U)
Kicker 1R(You may pay an additional 1R as you cast this spell.)
Split Fire deals 3 damage to target creature. If Split Fire was kicked, it also deals 3 damage to that creature’s controller. With Nissa’s mana supply, Chandra was able to hit both Eldrazi titans at the same time.
Woodland Elf1G
Creature — Elf Druid (U)
Kicker G(You may pay an additional G as you cast this spell.)
Woodland Elf enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it if was kicked. T: Add C to your mana pool. If Woodland Elf has a +1/+1 counter on it, add G to your mana pool instead.
1/2
Encroaching Mist
Instant (U)
Kicker (You may pay an additional as you cast this spell.)
Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to you this turn. Then if Encroaching Mist was kicked, create an X/X green Elemental creature token, where X is equal to the amount of damage prevented this way.
Double Down
Enchantment (M)
Kicker (You may pay an additional as you cast this spell.)
When Double Down enters the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. Then if Double Down was kicked, double the number of +1/+1 counters on target creature you control.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are 25 or more +1/+1 counters among creatures you control, you win the game.
Flashpoint Elemental
Creature — Elemental (U)
Kicker (You may pay an additional as you cast this spell.)
Haste
When Flashpoint Elemental enters the battlefield, if it was kicked, it gets +3/+0 and gains trample until end of turn. The very definition of ignition source.
1/1
Enraged Hellkite
Creature — Dragon (M)
Kicker (You may pay an additional as you cast this spell.)
Haste
When Enraged Hellkite enters the battlefield, if it was kicked, it deals 4 damage to each other creature. "All I heard was the flap of wings, then the entire village was consumed in fire."
4/4
Hymn of FlourishingG
Enchantment (R)
Kicker X
When Hymn of Flourishing enters the battlefield, if it was kicked, you may distribute X +1/+1 counters among any number of creatures you control.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are twenty or more +1/+1 counters among all creatures you control, you win the game.
Alpha Gnarlid3G
Creature - Beast (U)
Kicker G
When Alpha Gnarlid enters the battlefield, if its kicker cost was paid, it fights another target creature. The encroachment of the Eldrazi left the surviving wildlife territorial and aggressive.
3/4
Flame-Gang Warlord2R
Creature - Goblin Warrior (R)
Kicker 2R
Haste, menace
Other Goblins you control have haste and menace.
When Flame-Gang Warlord enters the battlefield, if its mana cost was paid, create three 1/1 red Goblin creature tokens.
2/2
Flickering Insight1RR
Sorcery (U)
Kicker--Discard a card.
Exile the top three cards of your library. Until end of turn, you may play cards exiled this way.
If Flickering Insight was kicked, add RRR to your mana pool.

I think it should be officially established CCL policy that finals contestants vote for themselves. It's the only way to ensure things are kept on the up and up without the host having to keep on eye on who's voting for who, and then calling someone out for voting for themselves. At this point I tend to wait to see what the host and/or the contestants have to say before I vote, but as far as I'm concerned, feel free to vote for yourself bravelion (you too theazurespirit), but please let me know that that is the agreed upon policy so I can vote too.
BTW.....Good luck to bravelion83 and theazurespirit. You have both had excellent months, and certainly have earned the right to be "champion".
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but unless you vote in the poll in the OP, that is all it is, a vote of confidence. I'm assuming to earn your 2 bonus pts for next month, you will need to officially vote in the actual poll found in the OP in this thread. Also, it would appear to be in my best interest for you to do so, so by all means, please do.

Flatline: I agree with you and I always allowed it in my months, but until it's not clear that it's official policy I thought is was best to ask. Well, for the record I'm just going to do it now. I obviously don't mind other finalists doing so too.
EDIT: I voted but I still can't see the partial results. Is that normal?
EDIT 2: I just checked the discussion thread and I probably shouldn't have voted. The host is free to manually subtract my vote if they wish. Anyway, this causes problems with the bonus points, as it automatically cuts finalists from getting them.

Hold.... And hey, Flatline. You may want to check what is wrong with the July poll because I know that at least I have voted on it. It didn't give me any partial results after I voted which surprised me, but I definitely voted as it now gives me the option to change my vote.
Thanks for the heads up ickiwonkin. I was just wondering about this. Between bravelion saying he didn't see his vote in the results, and the fact that it would appear that no one has voted yet, I figured something must be going on.
@proudawesome....Have people been voting in the poll, but it is just not visible? As it shows in the quote above, at the very least ickiwonkin voted, yet as far as I can see, not a single vote has been cast. Are you able to see that ickiwonkin voted? On that note, are you actually able void bravelion's vote? I've never made a poll before, so I'm not sure how such things work. If not, you could just allow theazurespirit and I to vote for ourselves and it would be a wash.

Thanks everyone, this is actually my first CCL win ever! I've been finalist twice before but lost both times. It looks like I only win with ties (my only DCC win so far was also a tie, the only contest I won without a tie was the MCC).
Also, congratulations to Flatline too.

Thank you to everyone that voted for me, and to bravelion83 and theazurespirit for the spirited competition. Also, congrats to bravelion83. It is an honor to share this victory with you.
Last, but not least, thank you to proudawesome for a job well done. Keep up the good work!
