How does this card-making game work? It's simple! Whenever your card receives a vote in the day's poll, you receive [1] point for the month. If your card ends up with the most votes for that day, you will receive [2] additional points for the month. In the event of a tie, each person who tied receives [1] additional point. At the end of each month, the person with the most points on the scoreboard wins that month, then the scoreboard is cleared for the next month. You can participate in as many or as few days as you want in any month.
Rules
Each day you may post any card you want. On the next day all of the posted cards will be put into a poll the thread as long as your card didn't get disqualified - see the next point for more details. If you post more than one card in a DCC thread, only the first card you post will be taken.
When you vote, you need to make exactly two votes for two different people. Vote for the cards that are listed in the first post, not other cards being posted in the thread. If you notice that you've only voted for one person, include your second vote in a post, even if you're not submitting a card.
If you want to change your vote for any reason, post that change in the day's thread (you can include it with your card if you want). Changed votes in the discussion thread will be ignored.
Voting for only one person, for three or more people, or for yourself will earn you an asterisk by your name in the monthly leaderboard. So will failing to vote if you've posted a card. (We're not going to do anything about people who don't vote or post cards; that would be kind of silly.) This indicates that you're on probation for the next 21 days. If you're on probation and you make another improper vote, your card will be disqualified. Repeated disqualification is grounds for warnings and/or infractions for not following the game rules, so please don't do it.
Voting for everything in the poll will be grounds for a lifetime ban from the DCC. Don't do it. It just wastes the thread creators' time.
If you wish to post a render, please use the hyperlink option when posting your card and make the card name the image link. Renders are usually large enough to clog up the list, so submit a text-formed card and (optionally) a link in the name to the render.
This thread is just for your card submission. Take your questions/comments to our discussion thread. If it's a question, comment, or complaint about probation, PM me instead and I'll explain it.
Anyone can post the new thread for the day. When you post it, make sure that:
You have a poll in the thread;
You include everyone's cards (excluding cards that have been disqualified);
The poll is marked as public and multiple choice with a one-day time limit; and
You update the leaderboard with the previous day's scores.
(An easy way to post the new thread is to hit the multiquote button on every post in the previous day's thread, then click Post Reply. Select everything in this post, copy it, and then paste it into the first post for a new thread. You'll have to clean up a few small things, like quote tags around the opening post and the previous day's cards.)
Tarvish MacAlbery, Explorer3UR
Planeswalker - Tarvish (M)
[+1]: Exchange control of target permanent you own and target permanent you don't own.
[-3]: Untap up to two target nonbasic lands.
[-8]: Gain control of all artifacts. Untap them. Creatures you gain control of this way gain haste.
<5>
The Tempest Twins1UR
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard (R)
Whenever you cast a blue spell, exile the top card of target player's library.
Whenever you cast a red spell, you may play a card exiled by The Tempest Twins until end of turn.
1/4
Court Chaos2RRR
Sorcery [R]
Flip a coin until you choose to stop flipping. Draw a card for each flip you win. Court Chaos deals 2 damage to you for each flip you lose. The damage can't be prevented or dealt instead to another permanent or player.
The Grand ConquerorU
Legendary Creature - Human Advisor (MR)
Territory 9 (You may cast The Grand Conqueror only if you control 9 or more lands)
Hexproof
Whenever a nonland, nontoken permanent enters the battlefield, you may pay its mana cost, including color. If you do, gain control of that permanent.
Indighost, Piar (Thought Snag's a two for one tho, so it's a lil under-costed at just B)
Traitor's Cloak2UUU
Enchantment - Aura (R)
Enchant creature
You control enchanted creature.
Enchanted creature has protection from its owner. (It can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by anything controlled by its owner.)
Votes: Bravelion83, CryoZenith (I like the ability more than the card though)
Apparently tarmo is Finnish for vigor. Also, I copied and pasted the end of this card from Tarmogoyf. Hopefully nobody thinks that's beneath me.
Vigorous Blast
Instant (U)
Vigorous Blast deals X damage to target creature, where X is equal to the number of card types among cards in all graveyards plus 1.
Tarmoblast
Tribal Instant - Lhurgoyf
Tarmoblast deals X damage to target creature, where X is equal to the number of card types among cards in all graveyards plus one.
That which does not kill the Tarmogoyf, can only make it stronger. Come to think of it, even that which does kill the Tarmogoyf can only make it stronger.
Mardu Recruiter3R
Creature — Human Warrior (U)
Dash 4R(You may cast this spell for its dash cost. If you do, it gains haste, and it’s returned from the battlefield to its owner’s hand at the beginning of the next end step.)
Whenever Mardu Recruiter attacks, manifest the top card of your library. (Put it onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature. Turn it face up any time for its mana cost if it’s a creature card.)
3/2
(Mardu watermark)
Karn's Blessing (Uncommon) 1U
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant artifact
When Karn's Blessing enters the battlefield and at the beginning of your upkeep, choose a counter on enchanted artifact. Put another of those counters on enchanted artifact.
Votes - Legend, Guesswork (Probably busted as hell somehow, but I love it, and the flavor.)
Korthian Martialist2(R/G)
Creature - Human Monk
Protection from equipped creatures
2/3 "You think armor or blades will help you defeat me? Think again."
Holy Presence2W
Enchantment - Aura (C)
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature gets +2/+2.
At the beginning of the upkeep of enchanted creature's controller, that player gains 2 life.
Votes: Groovelord, IcariiFA (though I would drop the "target" since it conflicts with the "tie" remark)
Hail Elemental3UU
Creature - Elemental (R)
Whenever a creature becomes the target of a spell or ability, counter that spell unless it's controller pays 1.
When Blizzard Elemental attacks or untaps, other creatures get -1/-0 until end of turn. A relentless storm of cold awe without bias.
4/5
Smuggler's Roadhouse
Land (R) T: Add 1 to your mana pool. T: The next time this turn a creature you control would deal combat damage to a player, instead look at that many cards from the top of your library. You may put those cards back in any order.
Invoke the Ancestors2W
Sorcery (U)
Manifest the top card of your library, then bolster 1. (To manifest a card, put it onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature. Turn it face up any time for its mana cost if it’s a creature card. To bolster 1, choose a creature with the least toughness among creatures you control and put a +1/+1 counter on it.)
