Scared, Potter?
On a serious note, I too wonder what's going on.

@scrad_the_wanderer....I apologize if this a stupid question, but I am wondering if I came in 1st place in your bracket, or if I got 1 point. I think you have me 1st, but I am not totally sure with the way you have your top 3 displayed.

In these cases I always interpret the numbers as places, so when I calculate the scores I'd give you 3 points in that case. I take this opportunity to remind everyone to be as clearest as you can in your top 3s, that's the reason I always write "1st place" and so on rather than "1, 2, 3" as a player.

The deadline for April Top 4 is tonight and we're still currently missing Ink-Treader's and scrad_the_wanderer's entries. If necessary, I'll leave the round open beyond the deadline to wait for the two missing entries, as I can't really have a Top 4 round with only two players. Still, allow me to take this opportunity to remind everyone that if you're involved in a contest and you know you can't meet the deadline, let the host know asap via pm. We all know real life happens and rightly takes precedence, but there is still some form of obligation from entering a contest.
On the subject of hosting May, I really hope it will not be necessary for me to host again for the third time, but of course if there's no alternative I prefer that to the contest dying.

No, because it checks the number and not the names of cards in your graveyard while I am asking for something that checks the name. It can also check the number but it still has to check the names.

Hey bravelion83, since you've run so many CCLs recently, do you have any things you've learned or thought about the system you might want to share? I know running a CCL is pretty daunting to some people (I did it once and didn't do that great a job) and I think it might be good to share knowledge about how to do it effectively.

The system I'm using is the same one I used last year on Feburary, which was the only time I ever hosted the CCL before I started this sequence. I never had any problem with that system, nor then nor now. The list system is perfect in my opinion, it just requires two things: being randomized at every round (which some previous host forgot), and being normalized (that's why I use percentages, to account for people receiving different numbers of critiques). I have an Excel sheet I use to make all the necessary calculations, so that's definitely not the hardest part. For me, that is coming up with the challenges. I find inspiration from a lot of different places, often completely unrelated to Magic. Someone could certainly come up with better or more interesting challenges, but I'm doing my best. Running a contest just requires dedication and proper attention (that's true for other contests too), both things I luckily have naturally. In my experience it doesn't take that much time, a thread is written and posted in a few minutes and the calculations require just a few minutes too if you use a spreadsheet.

I just wanted to say it’s been fun so far! Thanks bravelion83 for spending the time and adjudicating the past few CCL’s! Hopefully I’ll be around for round 4.
Looks like a few other people are being discounted about whether a keyword mechanic needs to have been new, and whether it later being evergreen is important.
In my case, two of the judges felt “deathtouch” wasn’t an eligible keyword ability. My chosen block was Lorwyn-Shadowmoor, and aside from a brief mention in Time Spiral (which again, you said didn’t count anyway), it debuted in Lorwyn as a non-evergreen mechanic (just as Scry or Prowess are now evergreen, but weren’t when they were introduced).
bravelion83, can you provide some helpful clarification?

• The two public custom sets I've been part a part of the design team for:
"Brotherhood of Ormos" - Blog post with all info - set thread - design skeleton / card list || "Extinctia: Homo Evanuit" - Blog post with all info - set thread - card list spreadsheet
• "The Lion's Lair", my article series about MTG and custom card design in particular. Latest article here. Here is the article index. Rather outdated by now, and based on the old MCC rubric, but I'm leaving this here for anybody that might be interested anyway.
• My only public attempt at being a writer: the story of my Leonin custom planeswalker Jeff Lionheart. (I have a very big one that I'm working on right now but that's private for now, and I don't know if I will ever actually publish it, and I also have ideas for multiple future ones, including one where I'm going to reprise Jeff.)
Actually the deadline is tonight. But I totally share your intentions here.

You're right, I didn't think of it. No, any block except Time Spiral. Going to update the OP right now.
