@bravelion83; quick note; in your Results spoiler you have mine and mirrorentity's points totals reversed, he should have the 20 points, not myself. Thank you for the informative critique too, I didn't even realise as I was making the card that a player could put it on themselves. And yes, the name was a tough one; I agree that it doesn't really feel the best.
Many thanks to maplesmall for making me notice a mistake that's determining for the outcome and also great honor to him/her because it goes against his/her interest (if I didn't notice, he/she would have been the one to wrongly advance).

No worries, I'd want to advance with an excellently crafted card, not through a mistake. Speaking of; in your list of finalists, somehow my name snuck in there where I'm sure it should be mirrorentity's.

Maybe it slipped through when I corrected the previous mistake. I'll check that asap.
EDIT: In fact, that's exactly what happened. Now it's fixed. Thank you once again.
Clarification: Either or both sides can be colorless for subchallenge 1, right?
Indeed, colorless is not a color so two colorless faces can't share a color if they each have none. A DFC with both colorless faces does technically pass the subchallenge, even though it fails it in spirit. But what counts is the letter of the law, so yes, it would pass.

I got points off BY EVERY JUDGE at some point because "That wasn't what he meant" when the way it was written clearly spoke to my case.
It all boils down to the "colorless is not a color" thing. You can't share what you don't have.

Right, I'm not calling that into question. I'm just saying that technicalities like that, as the challenge is written, should be EXPRESSLY permitted, no questions or qualifications needed.
If I understand this correctly, we either make a legendary artifact that's been stolen (simple concept) or... a legendary character that's dead? Or about to die? Wouldn't making a 'murder' card be more of an instant/sorcery thing (i.e. representing the act of the murder)? I'm just trying to get the challenge from the creature point of view.

I'm guessing the artifact/creature we create will be stolen/killed at some point in a later round. What I'm curious about is, by history, do you mean MTG lore history or character/story history of the card?

The artifact represents the stolen item. The creature represents the murder victim. I'll make this clear.
