A cross section of uncommons from an all hybrid (and generic) mana "core" set inspired by Alpha.
Animus Aura (Uncommon) 3(W/U)
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant artifact or enchantment
Enchanted permanent is an X/X creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost.
Damage Control (Uncommon) 1(B/R)
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature
Damage that would be dealt to enchanted creature is dealt to its controller instead.
Dwarven Ballista (Uncommon) 2(R/G)
Creature - Dwarf Soldier
1/1 T: Dwarven Ballista deals 4 damage to target creature with flying or defender. Destroy target creature with defender or flying.
River of Life (Uncommon) X(G/W)
Sorcery
You gain X life.
Tomb Wraith (Uncommon) 3(W/B)
Creature - Wraith
3/3
Tomb Wraith can’t be blocked by creatures that share a color with a creature card in your graveyard.
Sorcerer’s Apprentice (Uncommon) 2(U/R)
Creature - Human Wizard
1/1
Prowess T: Sorcerer’s Apprentice deals damage equal to its power to target player. Sorcerer’s Apprentice deals 1 damage to each creature and each player.
Deathblow (Uncommon) (B/G)
Instant
Destroy target creature that was dealt damage this turn.
Bushwhack (Uncommon) (G/U)
Instant
Cast Bushwhack only during the declare blockers step.
All creatures block this turn if able. Defending players assign blockers at random this turn.
Sacrificial Dagger (Uncommon) 2
Artifact T: Target creature you control gets +2/+0 until end of turn. Sacrifice it at end of turn. If that creature is sacrificed this way, you gain life equal to its power.
I especially like Animus Aura and Dwarven Ballista, though I suspect Red is not allowed to destroy creatures with flying. Could be a huge bend, since Red gets Reach now, but I suspect it's a break.
Is Sorcerer's Apprentice supposed to kill itself? Seems very weak if so. Also, a color break for Blue.
Deathblow seems like it would be more at home in (W/B), and Bushwhack feels more (R/G) to me, because of the random element, and because Red can sometimes manipulate blockers.
Dwarven Ballista and Sorcerer’s Apprentice are color breaks. Red doesn't destroy creatures and blue doesn't deal damage.
Damage Control, Tomb Wraith, Deathblow, and Bushwhack are all bends. Damage control because of the instead, without that it is right within color. Tomb Wraith functions as a portion of protection by looking at the graveyard, it can be done in either color but would use a different flavor for each. Deathblow is a mono black ability that could bleed into green because it isn't outright destruction but it is a heavy bend possible break. Bushwhack is a mono red ability, though both green and blue do effects 'like' this so it is a heavy bend rather than a break.
Sacrificial Dagger seems rather pushed and has some weird flavor. The creature wields the dagger until it turns the dagger on itself?
Dwarven Ballista is down to a heavy bend that would be acceptable if within the set green hates defenders.
Sorcerer’s Apprentice is still a break, blue hasn't had damage dealing abilities for quite sometime. Though the card itself is far more interesting. The last time blue dealt direct damage was Time Spiral and it wasn't even in color then it was just a throwback to when blue did this as the 'mage' color.
Sorcerer's Apprentice - Think of it as "can't be blocked".
Why don't you write it as "can't be blocked" instead?
Well hello stranger! I thought about that. But I'd rather have blue revisit its past than shift unblockable into red's future. The set is after all inspired by Alpha and is in general an homage to the golden age of Magic.

Cards like this? Dawnglow Infusion.

Except for Damage Control which, I think, is more suited for (W/B).

Sorcerer's Apprentice - Think of it as "can't be blocked". EDIT: I just realized it may have moved into rare territory.

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
