I was thinking, this is a zone that is never used (or hardly ever) in the game that could really be utilized.
The reason that this zone could be really good is that it would probably be the most static zone in the game, aside from shuffling effects, it
should remain unchanged. Top of the library, top card in the graveyard always are in flux with drawing and spells being cast etc... So the bottom of the
library would remain the same unless you were to shuffle your library.
So I was thinking of some cards that could work:
BLACK: Obviously a terror effect that would send the card to the BOTL. Also some discard effects, perhaps a 1 mana 1 card one, and a whole hand one.
BLUE: Again obviously a counter spell that sends the card to the BOTL.
But then you could have:
RED: A chaos spell that puts all cards BOTL for all players into play
GREEN: Maybe a creature or spell that summons from the BOTL.
This isn't a properly thought out concept but does anyone think this as a mechanic for a set would have potential?
In practical terms, it's a hassle to continually reach under your library and remove the card. I think the occasional effect is fine, but personally I wouldn't want to be always picking up my deck and extracting the card down there. It would get annoying. And when you combine BOTL effects with TOTL effects in the same deck, you might find yourself trying to remember which card is where, and personally I would find that to be a little too much to juggle.
