For those of you that don't know the story, in the Khans of Tarkir block, for Dragons of Tarkir, the Magic designers wanted a variant of morph. They tried 3/3s for 4. They tried morphing Auras. They finally chose... Megamorph. Crappy name, and a disappointment. People wanted something different from morph, and megamorph was the same as morph, but with a +1/+1 counter.
One of the ideas was spellmorph, that could go on instants and sorceries. I think I have an idea for it that might work:
Spellmorph COST: You may cast this face down as a 2/2 creature for 3. You may exile it face up at any time, then cast it for its spellmorph cost.
The only thing is that with this wording, it can be responded to, unlike morph, but other than that, would this work the way I want it to? Thanks!
"Battlelands" already don't make sense because unless the other 5 are printed in "Ravnica the Third: Battle for Jace's Head" or something, "battle" means impressively nothing.

Unless you're talking about the card with spellmorph as it exists as a spell on the stack, I don't see how this can be responded to. Exiling the card face up and casting it afterward would be a special action analogous to the special actions allowed for by manifest and morph, and special actions can't be responded to.
For example, let's say you have a spellmorph creature that's face-down and I Doom Blade it. In response, you perform that special action, and it becomes exiled and cast before I can do anything else. You would at least have to keep this interaction in mind when designing the cards, where creatures can easily dodge removal.
Another concern is that if I only have access to R but a spellmorph cost is RR, am I able to exile and cast the spellmorph guy? Or would it just become exiled and stay there because I can't cast it?

I don't even know where to begin searching, but I remember Maro saying they tried a version of spellmorph, but couldn't overcome the inherent board disadvantage of losing a creature to cast a spell without warping how strong their spells were. Just a thought to keep in mind as you move forward with this.

@Thought Criminal
Ok, I thought that because of the use of the word, "cast" then it could be responded to. I didn't know that it would still be considered a special action.
@Piar
I sort of remember that too. I will try to keep the costings not OP.
@schweinefett
Yeah, that's the proper wording. I was just trying to not say "cost" too many times, but as Thought Criminal also pointed out, then it sort of wouldn't work. Thanks!
