I was going to say this seemed OP, but it's probably in a good place. I mean, Barter in Blood is the other gold standard to compare against and it has clear trade offs.
For Limited reasons this card absolutely, positively must be Mythic and preferably in a small set. This strikes me as the most powerful Limited card since Pack Rat.
For Constructed, it's interesting. Usually it will be a 3 for 2 (wipe the opponent's board, and kill one of your dudes so you have enough targets) which is on par with how Barter in Blood or Damnation usually play out (2 for 1, with you having nothing to sacrifice/damn). Sometimes it will be utterly absurd, sometimes totally dead - which is incidentally true of Crux of Fate right now. (If you've never cast Crux naming non-dragons when you have an Ojutai on the board and a Stubborn Denial or Silumgar's Scorn in hand, let me tell you, it feels amazing)
The card is at the dangerous end of printable, IMHO.

Sorcery
Destroy 4 target creatures.
Be careful not to hurt the ones you love.
Note: Death Vortex does not resolve if there are less than 4 creatures on the battlefield.
