Suppose in a two-set block, both sets are large. (like Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash.) How can you draft them together?
Ways to booster draft:
(A and B are both large sets)
AAA
BBB
For each pack, half players get A, half players get B. alternate for adjacent players. alternate between packs.
AB, 3rd pack half players get A, half players get B. alternate for adjacent players.
ex. method 3.
Suppose 8 players around a table. Assign them a number in sequential order. such that Player 1 sits between Player 2 and 8. Player 2 sits between 1 and 3. Player 3 sits between 2 and 4. etc.
1st pack. Odd players get pack A, even players pack B.
2nd pack. Odd players get pack B, even player pack A.
3rd pack. like pack 1.
Method 3 works better if the sets are tightly integrated and have the same mechanical base. like Return to Ravnica/Gatecrash or Khans/Dragons of Tarkir. Method 4 better for different mechanic themes. like Zendikar/Rise of Eldrazi or Innistrad/Avacyn Restored.
Packs get passed around the table so all players see roughly the same cards regardless of who opens the pack. Ideally both sets are equally balanced in power so that the early picks are also balanced.
When a new large set comes out, Wizards would initally schedule BBB drafts. That will get people to buy new cards. But later for block drafts and high profile events long after release, there is no need to do BBA or ABB just to sell new cards.
@Koopa:
Depends on how the sets were designed, your method is also feasible. Maybe some mechanics or themes are more open- ended, so A and B could be drafted in a different order.

Similar to your 4th idea I guess lol
