Two of the mechanics in my Pirates of Maris set are Landfall, the returning mechanic I chose for its nautical origins, and Sustain, which rewards you if you gained life that turn. I figure most any set with Landfall will want more lands than usual, as Zendikar demonstrated with its spell lands, and I was looking for effects to put on the cycle in PoM. I got the idea of a cycle of lands that gave you 2 life when they entered the battlefield, similar to Radiant Spring, but with the ETBT drawback and monocolor mana of the spell lands. It just so happens one of Zendikar's spell lands demonstrates this exact template: Kabira Crossroads. I figured, since lands are colorless sources that any color can use and they've already gotten lifegain through Refuges as well as the Fountain, why not make a full cycle of such lands for a set where both land and lifegain matter?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
If lifegain matters in your set, these are great. Otherwise, it looks strange on the R and B ones, normally known for cutting themselves or preventing lifegain.

could twist the black one to 'redirecting' lifegain, and the red to punish lifegain if the colour-pie thing is a big deal.

Black will be one of three colors with the lifegain matters mechanic, so it needs a lifegain land. I'm satisfied with the cycle providing lifegain, I'm mainly looking for name suggestions.

I'm starting to wonder if the lands shouldn't provide the lifegain as part of the mana ability instead of as an ETB ability, as Sustain cards have to be cast on the same turn as when you gain life, something the current designs don't support.

This is pretty overpowered. After you've used it twice, it's already better than Kabira Crossroads.
Personally, I'd either give the lands varying abilities (so black might get lifedrain, for example) or just use the Khans taplands.
Well, colorless gets access to anything for a high enough price. That doesn't mean that Darksteel Forge would make a good red card or that All is Dust would make a good green card.
These lands, however, are just fine. I actually really like the rearguard tension between messing up your tempo and boosting your life, and I think it's an interesting enough tension to warrant an entire 5-card cycle like this. I would hope that your set has a monored control archetype so that Campfire Ground isn't a total head-scratcher.
