Been thinking of more eldrazi stuff for my new project: Exodus of Zendikar.
I wanted some opinions on these cards and the Eradicate mechanic.
Monument of Despair
Creature — Eldrazi (C)
Eradicate 2 (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, defending player sacrifices two non blocking permanents.)
7/5
The Void's Eye
Creature — Eldrazi (U)
Eradicate 1 (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, defending player sacrifices a non blocking permanent.)
At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 on The Void's Eye, then each player exiles X permanents he or she controls and/or cards from his or her hand, where X is the number of +1/+1 counters on The Void's Eye.
5/7
Howl of the Voiceless
Creature — Eldrazi (R)
Eradicate 1 (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, defending player sacrifices a non blocking permanent.)
Whenever Howl of the Voiceless deals combat damage to a player, that player reveals cards from the top of his or her library until he or she reveals nine land cards, then puts those cards into his or her graveyard.
9/10
That Which Eats Sins
Creature — Eldrazi (R)
Eradicate 2 (Whenever this creature becomes blocked, defending player sacrifices two non blocking permanents.)
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may sacrifice another creature. If you do, creatures you control get +1/+1 and gain flying and Indestructible until end of turn.

Eradicate has to live up to annihilator and in the direct comparison comes out as strictly worse. I would rather try something entirely different or reuse annihilator than present something that will be felt as the "watered down" version.
Annihilator also was crucial to giving the Eldrazi an identity. I see you do not use eradicate on every colorless Eldrazi creature. Why?

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

I'm fine with it being a watered down version of annihilator if it makes for better gameplay. This version creates more choices and creates an interesting tension between sacrificing your life total or your permanents. All the while it still retains the flavor of world eat horrors that was one of the best parts of the original annihilator mechanic. Considering that Annihilator is an 8 on the storm scale. I am reluctant to reuse it. (Not that I haven't done some playtesting with it.)
Annihilator also was crucial to giving the Eldrazi an identity. I see you do not use eradicate on every colorless Eldrazi creature. Why?
Simply because I made some of these cards before I finalized the Eradicate mechanic. I agree that if I am to use Eradicate I would have it on all large Eldrazi, similar to how annihilator was used.
I think Eradicate is great - In comparison to Annihilator. I personally loathed Annihilator as it was a very unfun (using that loosely I guess) way to mechanic to play against and I actually found myself wishing that it worked more or less like you've worded it here.
I found Annihilator to certainly be a mechanic that was fun a couple of times but definitely wasn't my favorite. Many of my friends absolutely loathed it and as I've tested some annihilator cards it is apparent that the lack of choices offered to a player being attacked by an annihilator creature is so limited as your basically dead once you have to start sacing lands.
Howl of the Voiceless is absolutely ruthless as provides both reason to block and reason to not block, mixed feelings about it - The Void's Eye is definitely an interest card that seems to be a very "Johnny"-esque card, to put it magic terms.
Do you like the choices on Howl of the Voiceless?
I'm actually thinking of adding more cards like this to spice up the mechanic a bit for all the people who are saying it is a strictly worse annihilator.
I could be wrong, but, isn't adding flying to Eldrazi cards with Eradicate more or less counter-intuitive? Since the pamount of things that can block flying are much less than the amount that can block non-fliers, wouldn't that detract from the gameplay around choosing between Blocking or not blocking a card with Eradicate? (Talking about "That Which Eats Sin" obviously).
Yeh I've changed the card so it only gives your other creatures flying. Thanks for pointing that out.
Monument of Despair - The smallest colorless Eldrazi before was 7/7, but lower toughness is sensible for a common. Especially considering that being a slightly easier to kill in combat can encourage block which helps eradicate.
- The name sounds like an artifact. Eldrazi names are a pain to come up with. Maybe: Walking Despair, Lumbering Despair, Fist of Despair, Colossus of Despair
The Void's Eye - Possessed Portal is a very annoying card. This at least doesn't stop drawing, but dropping to uncommon seems scary.
Howl of the Voiceless - In Eldrazi vs Eldrazi matchups, how do you want this mill to interact with the Eldrazi titan self shuffling abilities? Because you could use exile instead if you don't want the self shuffling to be able to reset the mill:
Whenever Howl of the Voiceless deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles cards from the top of his or her library until he or she exiles nine land cards.
I can see it being interesting flavorwise that this mill can't stop the Eldrazi titans though, so it can work either way.
That Which Eats Sins - Is this the Eldrazi from Eldrazi Monument? Should the sacrifice be optional? With Eldrazi Monument you couldn't opt out of the sacrifice.
Another idea for an Annihilator style ability I have been working with is something similar to Desecration Demon's ability. During each combat you can sacrifice a permanent to tap it, or prevent it from attacking or blocking during that turn. Just a thought in case you end up disliking eradicate!
Mentioning the ability to stop Desecration Demon reminds me of situations where a player would need to chump block an Eldrazi to survive the turn, but since annihilator happens before blocking they would have to sacrifice other permanents that they would needed to use to win on their following turn. Maybe the idea of Desecration Demon could be incorporated into annihilator utilizing the "non-blocking" wording.
Consume 1 (When this creature is not blocked by a creature, defending player sacrifices a non-blocking permanent.)
Consume 2 (When this creature is blocked by less than two creatures, defending player sacrifices non-blocking permanents equal to the difference.)
A creature with consume 2 eats two permanents each time it attacks. If you don't block it, you sacrifice two permanents. If you block with one creature, you sacrifice one other permanent. If you block with two or more creatures, you don't need to sacrifice any permanents.
Maybe it is too wordy for what it does. This would also limit designs using blocking restrictions like Pathrazer of Ulamog. Although it might open up "simpler" evasion abilities like flying with consume 1. You almost might as well chump block a creature with consume 1 if able, but adding flying limits what can chump block it.
