I refer to the "must attack each turn" ability as "Battle-Mad" (Or at least I have since Battle-Mad Ronin showed up), but it's sort of a dumb name. I've been using the name Flash for the ability on the Invasion cycle that includes Rout that lets you play the card as an instant for an additional cost. (Rout would have Flash :2mana:.)
Aggressive would also be a fine keyword. I just think that it is used so frequently that it needs a name. "when ~ deals damage you gain that much life" and ":symtap: : deal X damage to target creature or player" need keywords too.
No no no, Tap: This deals X damage to something does not need to be keyworded. Spirit Link and Aggressive/Aggression/Aggressor sure, but not the "archer" ability. There are so many variations on it that you can't possibly format a keyword for it.
Spirit link could be called Essence. I think Agressor would be best, it also is symmetrical to Defender.
and for a few abilities:
Flanking X (Whenever a creature without flanking blocks this creature, the blocking creature gets -X/-X until end of turn.)
[I like this because it's alot cleaner that giving multiple instances of flanking]
Spellcharge (This spell costs 1 less to play for each spell played before it each turn.)
Eg:
Flow of Knowledge 3UUU
Instant (c)
Spellcharge (This spell costs 1 less to play for each spell played before it each turn.)
Draw 3 cards.
I like essence for spirit link. Also, I love the idea of flanking X. Which reminds me:
Threshold X - [text] (You have threshold as long as X or more cards are in your graveyard.)
And some mechanics from [Aptitude], my set for the You Make the Set contest:
Authority X(+/-/=) (Play this spell or ability only if your life total is (+/-/= to X).
Default X (You may have spells and abilities that consider your life total use X instead.)
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."
Dylan Moran, Black Books
Well threshold X works just like regular threshold, except you use X instead of 7.
Authority can either be X+, X- or X=.
And default is a little confusing, but basically your life total is treated as X for any spells and abilities. If you have a card with default 10 out and you have 15 life, and I play a spell that says you lose life equal to half your life total, you take half of 10 (5), and use it instead of half of your real life total.
"Hello! I've come to serenade you. I can't play guitar. I can't play this accordion either, but I thought it'd be less obvious."
Dylan Moran, Black Books
Overtap - (This permanent may tap again from the tapped position. Whenever an overtapped permanent would untap, it returns to the tap position.)
EDITOR'S NOTE: Overtapped permanents are turned an additional 90 degrees from the tap position.
Lives X(- ~ comes into play with X life counters. If ~ would be destroyed, remove a life counter from it instead. When ~ has no life counters on it, sacrifice it.)
Flux <Cost> (When you play This spell, any opponant may pay <Cost>, if they do, counter this spell.)
Curses. I had already thought of a Flux ability.
Flux (when ~ resolves, remove it from the game instead. As long as ~ is removed from the game in this way, you may play it whenever you could play an instant.)
Example:
Pyrolapse-:1mana::symr:
Instant
Pyrolapse deals two damage to target creature or player.
Flux "We don't call it spontaneous combustion. We call it gradual combustion." -Sarshi the Immolated
Sprouting Tiger-:symg::symg:
Creature-Tiger
Flux, Protection from Black
2/2 Catch.
Wild (If this is face-up and on top of your library, put it on the stack.)
This is a supertype of instants only.
I suppose wild could just as well be a subtype.
Wild spells have no mana cost, and consequently cannot be played from your hand.
Example: Mouse Bomb
Wild Instant (Spells without a mana cost cannot be played) (If this is face-up and on top of your library, put it on the stack.)
If a player controls less creatures than any other, he or she puts into play 6 white 1/1 Mouse creature tokens. For some obscure reason, where there's wild magic, you will find white mice.
erm i'v been thinking about this mechanic... its sound quite cool...
Reborn <cost> (Whenever this card is put into graveyard from play you may pay <cost>, if you do search your library for a card with the same name and put it into play)
Experience
Experience is a keyword ability exclusive to creatures. Whenever a creature with Experience deals or is dealt combat damage, put an experience counter on it. There are three forms of experience:
1. Creatures with static experience, like so: Wandering Adventurer WW
Creature -- Hero
Experience (Whenever this creature deals or is dealt combat damage, put an experience counter on it.)
Wandering Adventurer gets +0/+1 for each experience counter on it.
1/1
2.Creatures that get abilities when they have a certain number of experience counters, like so: Coiled Serpent2GG
Creature -- Snake
Experience 2--Whenever Coiled Serpent blocks or is blocked by a creature, destroy that creature at end of combat. (Whenever this creature deals or is dealt combat damage, put an experience counter on it. This creature has experience 2 when there are two or more experience counters on it.)
2/4
3.Creatures with an activated ability that can only be played when there are a specified number on it. Vicious Undorak 4GG
Creature -- Beast
Experience 3--G: Regenerate Vicious Undorak. (When this creature deals or is dealt combat damage, put an experience counter on it. Play this ability only if there are at least three experience counters on it.)
4/6
Experience is a cumulative effect. If an effect gives a creature experience twice, it gets two counters every time it deals or is dealt combat damage.
I'm using the experience mechanic in my newest set, Academy. Check it out!

Well, I searched the thread and didn't saw my mechanincs already printed in another form, so I'll asume they weren't created yet. Plz inform me if they already were. Here they go, folowed by a sample:
[ Keyword Ability ] Teleport - If [ Varieble condition ], you may play this spell without paying it's manacost.
Sample: Solargaze Unicorn 6WWW
Legendary Creature - Unicorn Spirit ( R )
Teleport - When a oponent has at least 20 more life then you and you control a Plains, you may play Solargaze Unicorn without paying it's manacost.
Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to an oponent, you gain that much life.
6/5
[ Static Ability ] Alertness ( You may play this creature spell at any time you could play an instant. )
Sample: Leumas, Rider of Unicorns WW
Legendary Creature - Human Knight ( R )
Alertness ( You may play this creature spell at any time you could play an instant. )
When Leumas, Rider of Unicorns comes into play, if you have 2 life or less, your life total becomes 10.
2/3
[ Static Ability ] Ethereal X( This creature can't be the target of non-Ethereal spells or abilities. Prevent all damage that would be dealt to or by this creature to creatures without Ethereal and players. You may pay X to ignore this effects until end of turn. )
Sample: Spectral Nightmare BB
Creature - Horror Rogue ( C )
Ethereal 5( This creature can't be the target of non-Ethereal spells or abilities. Prevent all damage that would be dealt to or by this creature to creatures without Ethereal and players. You may pay 5 to ignore this effects until end of turn. )
Sacrifice a Swamp: Regenerate Spectral Nightmare.
3/1
I've had this idea for a LONG time, and I was wondering if it could work. Seems cool:
Animate:
Obviously appears on noncreature permanents, you can pay to turn the permanent into a creature with power and toughness equal to its mana cost. Some cards could even give creature-specific abilities as long as the permanent is animated.

Omen--You may play the game with this card face-up in your library. Shuffling the library is randomization of the library and not reordering it so the Omen cards end up on top. I recommend not looking at your library while you're shuffling it with Omen cards in it. Or, play it online or use blind pile shuffling. Or, get a judge to shuffle it...
