I was musing with card ideas and decided to push the boundries of colorshifting a bit with some more brazen retakes.
Hasty Preparation R
Sorcery (U)
Draw two cards, then discard two cards. The best plan is none at all.
Offensive Formation 2WW
Enchantment (R)
Creatures can't block. Tactics are for cowards.
Phase 2U
Instant (R)
Exile each creature you control. Return those cards to the battlefield under their owner's control at the beginning of the next end step. The Aether takes what it gives.
Revered Nantuko GG
Creature- Insect Shaman (R) G: Revered Nantuko gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
2/1
Spectral Fiend 3BB
Creature- Spirit Horror (R)
Trample
Whenever Spectral Fiend attacks, if defending player controls no green permanents, it doesn't untap during your next untap step.

Hasty Preperation R
Sorcery (U)
Draw two cards, then discard two cards. The best plan is none at all.
Perfect. Once the mechanic is identified as shiftable the flavor has to carry it. I think this one carries it all the way home.
Offensive Formation 2W
Enchantment (R)
Creatures can't block. Tactics are for cowards.
Hardly justifiable. On a scale of "likes blocking"-"dislikes blocking" green and white are heavy in favor of blocking (white enabling itself, green forcing others). Black and red are against it (red disabling it, black enabling itself to circumvent it). Blue experiments on both sides.
White can prevent blocking with Pacifism effects, but with each card you have to formulate anew where you draw the line and this global enchantment draws it wildly different than white does right now.
Additionally the flavor works also in red, arguably better.
Phase 2U
Instant (R)
Exile each creature you control. Return those cards to the battlefield under their owner's control at the beginning of the next end step. The Aether takes what it gives.
Blinking is blue (secondarily). Mass blinking works.
Revered Nantuko GG
Creature- Insect Shaman (R) G: Revered Nantuko gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
2/1
Nothing new really and a nice throwback.
I personally think the point of this mechanic is that there are so many different things you could do, that you simply don't use them all all the time. This is fine.
Spectral Fiend 3BB
Creature- Spirit Horror (M)
Trample
Whenever Spectral Fiend attacks, if defending player controls no green permanents, it doesn't untap during your next untap step.
8/8
Generic genericness. This is not a meaningful colorshift. It's a mirror, but other than that nobody cares whether this was red and said blue or blue and said green.
It did fit green (leaving the obvious nostalgia aside) as a big green dude with a drawback. It fits black less, since black drawbacks tend towards being actively painful rather than passively slowing.
I like Hasty Preperation. There are many schools suggesting different ideas for red looting (random discard, discard first, &c.), but for me, the simplest idea works fine.
Ditto.
Spectral Fiend is the most boring mythic since Lord of the Pit. If Wizards printed this, I would go back to Magic just so I could quit it again.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Hasty Preperation - Its already trading card advantage for card selection. Making that selection random would be a bad design. Goblin Lore and Desperate Ravings use random discard, but they also leave you with the same number of cards as you started with before you cast the spell. There are places where random discard can make sense, but otherwise just because it is red should not automatically mean that it needs to be random.
Offensive Formation - Colorshifted and given a strange discount. Bedlam costs 2RR, but this is only 2W? This is way off color and the flavor text helps highlight the problem "Tactics are for cowards." White is all about tactics. Red is the color that is willing to rush in without a plan.
Phase - I'd like it better with a name a little further from "phasing". While it is similar, it does not actually use phasing. Maybe "Temporal Shift"?
Revered Nantuko - Sure green generally has stronger long term mana acceleration, but Nantuko Shade was originally printed in Torment alongside Cabal Coffers. This in green would be strong, but not overpowered.
If green were to get shade abilities more often, I think it might be in the form of requiring higher cost activations. For example, "2GG: CARDNAME gets +4/+4 until end of turn."
Spectral Fiend - Spectral Force might make for a better blue or red colorshift. Something like Force of Nature could make for a better black colorshift. Either way, they would still probably be rare cards and not mythic.
@Silvercut: A simple typo as far as Offensive Formation costing less mana. It will be adjusted appropriately. White is also the color of courage and righteous battle, and while this pushes the limit considerably, combat dominance is the province of both colors and the effect has been done in color before (Master Warcraft). Your comments regarding Spectral Fiend I find sensible. It might have well been better as a colorshift into Red. I made it Mythic on the premise an 8/8 for 5, even with a drawback, is especially large for a Black creature.
I disagree with Hasty Preperation needing to be random discard. I think, moving forward, that will be the case less and less. Card draw has slowly made its way around to existing in every color, and I see no reason Red should still get the short end of it.
Hasty Preperation: Yeah, I can see this. Discarding then drawing makes more sense to me (Mindmoil, Dragon Mage, Knollspine Dragon, Wheel of Fate (included because it mimics the other effects)), but does neuter the point of selection. Either way works.
Offensive Formation: Undercosted, maybe? Also a stretch flavorwise. flavor text sounds red to me.
Phase: Makes perfect sense.
Revered Nantuko: Sure. Not wonderful, but it's fine.
Spectral Fiend: Bizarre drawback for black. Like others have said, black doesn't usually get drawbacks like this.
Spectral Fiend is the most boring mythic since Lord of the Pit. If Wizards printed this, I would go back to Magic just so I could quit it again.
Funny you should say that seeing as how A) Lord of the Pit isn't actually a Mythic, but for the sake of argument, it can be, but more importantly B) All of these Mythics, following this statement i find to be more than boring, maybe mundane...

If you place madness in red like they did in Planar Chaos, this card would easily work.
The ridiculous use of "random" in this effects for red is something that makes me cry ; nobody really likes to play random effects like this, it might work with reds "chaos" theme, but its such a niche card. red deserves better : otherwise its the color that just can play burn and is good for nothing else (beside some combo cards).
Offensive Formation :2mana::symw:
Enchantment (R)

This is actual a red card for extrem. In White this seems wrong.
Yea it could actual work, as white gets protection, which avoids blocks ; so "somehow" you can justify it, while it simply lacks a real feeling for white.
Phase :2mana::symu:

Well in fact this could be a cheaper, as Ghostly was made with combat damage on the stack and stuff like that ; this could be a cool card for something like an 1U cost, which acts as an answer to wrath effects and allows nice interactions with Snapcaster / Eternal Witness to reuse it.
Like pretty much everything, this is really better in blue.

In fact the shade was a nice card at a time were mono black was really pushed and most opponents did not have insane creatures.
In green the shade just sucks, i have no idea how you can imagine this to be "strong" in green.
Omnath is actual the green shade and million times stronger than this, still pretty bad in the end for constructed and just fine enough for some casual fun.

Would work, but making this "mythic" seems to be a kick in the face.
The Spectral Force was nice as a fat finisher for green, which became the strangely aggressive color in Planar Chaos with Ball Lightnings and all that stuff.
In black however, you have way stronger stuff than this, and drawbacks are more or less not done anymore currently ; the rares and mythics are just upside.
I can see this more in blue, which has more fatty sized creatures with drawbacks that do not untap unless your opponent has something ; especially as blue can change colors aswell, which might come in handy here as a mini sub theme.

revered nantuko -- too strong. This is fine in black. Black has accel, but not in the same permanent degree as green does.
On that note, does anyone know when was the last killer bees like card in green printed?
"Sometimes, the situation is outracing a threat, sometimes it's ignoring it, and sometimes it involves sideboarding in 4x Hope//Pray." --Doug Linn
Oh, and Unyaro Bees, but that's a TS throwback that invalidates design and piecolouring.
