This is a remake to bring Homelands into line with modern design standards. Rules, in order of priority:
- Keep all the Homelands card names.
- Make all the cards something that could have been printed at the time AND something that could still be printed now, in terms of power level and color appropriateness.
- Avoid duplicating existing cards where another solution exists.
- Keep the intent of each card the same.
- Minimize the number of color shifts, type shifts, and similar small changes.
- Don't use banding or multicolor.
I would've posted the whole set, but I'd rather not overload the ability of people here to comment on individual cards, which is the real focus of this project. Please comment on individual shifts!

Aysen Crusaders should have some text that lets the toughness pump last until end of turn, otherwise two or more damage in combat results in death after combat.
I recommend: Whenever one or more creatures you control attacks, ~ gets +X/+X until end of turn where X is the number of creatures that attacked this turn.
This is an excellent idea. Like riffing on a grand scale.
Here is my take on this section, with lots of good ideas cribbed from LSK. I felt though that some of the design could be simplified and even brought closer to the actual oracle text. For instance, my Black Carriage Is the exact oracle text, but costing B less and dropping down 1 toughness.
Themes I tried to steer these towards are 1. activated abilities that anybody can pay and 2. creature tokens that are sacrificed at the end of the turn. I really liked LSK's Ambush, but I didn't think the goblins needed defender or first strike. Because they will be sacrificed I don't mind if they die while blocking, and they could only attack if you found a way to give them haste, which I'm find with as a combo.

Beast Walkers' ability has only been seen in red so far, but I think it fits logically in white.
Baron Sengir doesn't feel right as a 4/4. I'd like him better as a 5/5 for 4BB.
There are no Goblins in Homelands guys, why would Ambush make Goblin tokens? Try either Dwarves or Human Rogues. I don't see what's wrong with the original Ambush, though, it's a pretty good trick.

Legit. I was trying to make Minotaurs have a "power matters" theme, though.
This is something I was trying to consciously avoid. It's strictly better than a basic Forest.
