Poll Rules - Please read before voting
When voting, please assess how each entry fulfilled the challenge and take into account the quality of work submitted
Multi-vote: You can vote for more than one entry and this way give credit to more than one artist
You are not allowed to vote for yourself. If you vote for yourself, your vote is invalid and will be substracted from the final poll result. Votes are public and can be seen by everyone else.
Feel free to comment on your vote. People will appreciate it
Entries are displayed in the order they were submitted: first entries first, last entries last
The participant with the most votes will win. In case of a draw, the winner will be determined by rolling the dice
This poll will close on 15 March
The challenge in February was: Take any card and alter it in any physical way (painted alters, 3D, etc.), following a recognizable style of art history. Please follow this guideline:
- The art style you apply must be any clearly recognizable art style (Expressionism, Surrealims, Fauvism, Gothic, PopArt, etc...) - which one you select is your choice
- When submitting your entry, make clear which art style was applied and which characteristics make your piece belong to that style
- Ideally, you include the link to another painting that inspired you to select this art style, but this is not a must-do

Folks, February was a great month for the Altered Art Contest! We again got pretty cool entries, all very different, all very exciting on their own. All in all, we received 7 entries for this contest and that is the highest number of entries in a long time . Needless to say that Bull and me are really happy that this challenge was this well received and made new and old artists take part.
Before presenting the entries, I would like to remind you of two things:
1. You can vote for more than one artist at the same time. Feel invited to do so, in particular since we received so many entries.
2. Please consider how each entry fulfilled the challenge outlined above before you vote - you are the scoring judge!
Good, let's take a look at the entries - and as always, good luck to everyone!
"So I choose for this card the impressionist style, with a painting by Monet (Rouen Cathedral, the West Portal and Saint-Romain Tower, Full Sunlight, Harmony in Blue and Gold) : http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth...ain-soleil.jpg
I change colors, with more yellow, and try to keep the "blur" effect of impressionism."
@ClosetvIctorian: Please, read the rules above. You're not allowed to vote for yourself. Even if that vote of yours will not count, it could affect other users's perception of what is going on in the poll. Please, try to do not do this again.
My favourite piece is Cardcandy's. The design is convincing and the colors are beautifully applied and give the piece a very unique look and feel. Well done!
Rezombied's piece is very creepy, I like it a lot too. Purely black and white drawings is something we dont see here very often. For this piece it is a perfect choice.
Bef83 gets my vote as well. An Alter inspired by Monet? No brainer for me
If I can't vote for myself, then could you count it as one towards CardCandy's piece? It's my favorite from the lot. I love the wings and the different shades on the skin. It embodies Fauvism perfectly, I think.

No problem. Your vote has been changed (not manually, cause we can't touch polls, but it will be counted as such at the end.)
I felt like the impressionists really nailed it. So pretty

Congratulations to Spade for taking the trophy with a total of 9 votes. Dont know how you do it bro, but you really seem to nail the taste of the community. Well done
Runners-up with both 8 votes are Rezombied and Closetvictorian, with her own vote being invalid according to the contest rules. Both pieces were very strong and I am not surprised it was this close.
Good job everyone, this was the most exciting round in a long time!
Thanks guys! This must have been the most fun contest I've participated so far, the outcome could change even in the last day.See you in next month's contest!
