Oh neat, sounds cool! But as I sidenote... didn't I send you an idea like this PBG? I mean... I could I sworn I did, or at least something quite similar.

I actually think equipment should be left out.. completely different feel than a spell or enchantment...

I'm not saying that we will, but we could just draw a creature holding the quipment..seems like an easy way out.. but I digress...

I agree and I hope everyone doesn't start putting Bone Splitters in the hands of random creatures and such. That will make me a sad panda...errr a sad polar. Yes, that's it. A sad polar and nobody really wants do that do they?:D

Are we limited to just one non-creature effecting a creature? Or can we have a plethora of them interacting together?

Dumb Question (because im stuck on old terminology) -- by Aura do you mean any enchantment?

For example, can we show opposition interacting with squirrel nest's squirrel tokens that are controlling bigger dudes (akroma and colossus and seige-gang)? Is something to that extent allowed? Because Im thinking about doing the aforementioned or something very close to it

The spell must be affecting a single creature, although certain exceptions will be made for creatures that are a group, such a Killer Bees and Army Ants. Good question!

Just wondering, is Willbender deflecting a (Sudden) Shock that was targeting it alright for the contest? I was pretty sure, but wanted to find out just in case since the spell isn't technically affecting the creature (more like the other way around).

I don't think that Willbender works since it is a creature, but Defelction or Shunt might work since they are instants, although it is still a little questionable. The way I read it, the assingment is to draw art for a spell card that is affecting a specific creature. Drawing art for a creature card that is being affected by a spell is a little different. But maybe I'm just being esoteric.

So the focus is on the spell then, and the creature is just in there (much like the aforementioned Onslaught Shock)? Like if it were to be used as that spell's art? Alright, gotcha, thanks!

Draw any sorcery, instant, equipment, or aura enchantment, affecting a single creature. All entries must be new for this contest and you may not choose older works you've completed to enter.

That's essentially the focal points of the contest. You can't use the artwork for Shock and just draw something in place of the Psychatog. It must be all your own artwork.:)

Well, I'm guessing Tarmogoyf. But it won't do much good, since it will be a 2/3 with 2 damage on it after the shock has resolved

An idea for anyone creative participating... Remove Soul the Soulless One.

Well, I guess I'm going to break the ice on submissions for this month.

Now I know that the focus seems to be more on the creature than the effect of the spell itself - and it kind of stretches the theme a bit, at least in my mind - but this is how I envisioned an Idyllic Tutor would affect a Lucent Liminid. This was one of several ideas I had for this contest, but turned out to be the easiest to execute for me; the other ones didn't even make it past sketching becaue I couldn't get them right.

*i may need an extra day or two...may is nearly over (im still in disbelief on time flying) and havent been able to do too much. looking to submit by the deadline PBG

I've got an idea, but i don't know if it's cliche or something. I'll think more about it. In the mean time i'll get to work on the Ps contest as that one i have a solid idea.

My entry, though certainly not my best it is all I could get this month as I ran into several problems with this months theme*.

* Most Spells, Aura's, Equipment and random other effects depict an image of that effecting happening. So if you were to draw say Fists of Ironwood you'd have to draw the same looking fists on your guy, otherwise you can't really tell what it is without mentioning it. Not saying it's undoable, but frusterating for me as I like to keep things as exact as possible. Meh.

Seven days left everyone, not counting today. I hope we can see some more entries. Please let me know if you think an extension will be needed.

Umm... I have an entry, but I forgot how the rules were set up, so it's actually backwards, where the creature is affecting a spell (Spellstutter Sprite "stuttering" a Bitterblossom). So I think I'm disqualified. Sorry! T_T

EDIT: Here 'tis. 5 Crayola markers, 2 colored ballpoint pens (green and blue), and yeah... I grabbed whatever was in the drawer. It was drawn for this contest though. T_T

I guess I could say "Oh, it's... uh... a Faerie Trickery on a Vinelasher Kudzu! Yeah!"
