Hello. I am Sioux.
I am a 23 year old Native American art student attending art school on my reservation. I originally gained my skills in Photoshop through training at a previous art school several years ago.
I had always wanted to try my hand at Signature making but my few early attempts at my original art school ended in failure and I chose not to continue. Only recently have I gotten back into signature making as apart of my new studies to get back into the art field and to reorient myself with digital art in general and to better my existing skills in Photoshop.
I figured helping make signatures actively as a part of the artwerks team wouldn't be such a bad use of my skills and would surely augment them further. More to the point helping Rizla create a richer artist friendly community here on MtG Salvation was an opportunity too great to pass up.
I hope you read over my rules and post a request if you feel you are in need of my skills. Thank you and have a nice day.
1. Minimum of 50 posts, please, though I may make an exception given the signature idea presented
2. Signatures only. No avatars, banners, specials. (I will cut an ava out of a siouxwerks. sig for you if desired)
Mods & users with 3,000+ posts may PM me for special requests as an exception.
3. MTG related signatures only. Don't ask me to make you a sig based around your favorite sports team or musician. This is a MTG forum, and everything I provide will be MTG.
4. I reserve the following rights as a freely-giving artist:
- The right to refuse any request without explanation.
- The right to modify a request without notice if I feel it will produce better work.
- The right to remove permission for art usage, with explanation.
5. Any person using art created by siouxwerks. will include a specific tag underneath the signature. This tag may not be altered, and may only be removed if the art is removed with it. The tag is always the same, for reference, see my signature.
6. My shop isn't fair. I may not fill requests in the order I receive them. I'm here to have fun too and if a certain request gets me excited and feeling creative then it will take priority, regardless of when it was posted.
7. The more information you provide pertaining to your request, the better your chances of having a desirable outcome. If I feel I cant meet your request with the information provided, I wont fill it, and I probably wont let you know.
8. I will finish work when I finish work even if the dead line I state is passed and gone. I am an art student living in a technologically barren area of the United States with limited Internet connectivity so my schedule is rather odd.
Free Signatures Banner Place Holder!
If you wish to sport one of my free signatures, if you do I am all for it, please, as per the rules of the shop, place Sig.siouxwerks. below it in your signature. Thank you.
I would like to make the first request. Please make a signature, 300x125, using your favorite myr from our artwerks. database. Most of my Sigs have been on the darker side of things, so something cool, and or light hearted, would be my preference if you want a direction.
Cheers!
Edit: If it fits, I would like the text "first customyr" somewhere.
I can imagine Rizla is very curious to see where this goes.
Well let me join the fun of helping your shop launch by requesting a simple sig from you.
Subject: Karona, False God
Theme: Chaos, feel free to play with color for this one. This is to represent my chaotic multiplayer EDH deck (seen here)
I know you are more comfortable with a single subject to really flex your creativity for backgrounds but I will leave it open to you if you feel like adding things to the sig based in the deck (seen here)
I have a ridiculous amount of homework this week so I won't have all the time in the world immediately to work on these but let's say both will be done in a little over a weeks time. Booya.
Let me start off with: I love your work. I have zero skills as a photoshopper, and unless it is finding something on the internet or posting on a forum I have zero computer skills and I always give props to people more skilled than me.
Anywho.
I would love to make a request for a signature. You can run free with this one too... I'm almost positive anything you come up with will be simply amazing.
I would like a Gaddock Teeg themed signature. I run a GW Gaddock Teeg Prison-Aggro-Style EDH deck that earns me either hate or smiles at my kitchen table playgroup. Something that goes along with that would be awesome.
Thanks guys!

Good news everyone, I completely powered through my homework last night so I got some work done. Upon seeing my progress after this all-nighter I pulled I think I'll have everyone's signatures done in less time then I previously thought.
Rivenor, I am halfway through the cutting process on Karona, False God and I should be able to start working on her tonight. Thankfully, she is proving to be a decent cut.
ResultsTendToVary, I actually cut out Gaddock Teeg earlier this morning after a couple frustrating cut attempts(the problem is his hair...so I just fudged it and gave him a hair cut and it looks decent enough) and I plan on working on your signature this coming Tuesday.
Alrighty, after a frustratingly long couple of days I found some time this last evening to finish this off.
I took the Chaos idea you gave me and I ran with it. I don't know if I ran very far but you be the judge.
I used pretty much all of the cards that resolved to find you mana or generate you mana, outside of lands, from your EDH list in this signature one way or the other given the theme and who Krona is. Some of the effects are literally just warped Magic cards that have been brushed and smudged.
The size and shape does not matter to me, you have full artistic freedom there. I would like it to be of however, should you accept my request, Splinterfright and Phyrexian Metamorph, somehow working in Ghoultree would be cool too, but unnecessary. How you would manage to meld them together is interiorly up to you, judging by your work, I don't think you can go wrong. I would however, love to see if you could pull off a tear away effect;
Warning, the following is a tattoo of a guys chest being ripped away to reveal a spider man logo underneath. I'm probably just being paranoid about issuing a warning, but I'd like to not receive a warning myself, in my private message inbox for any graphic images, not sure if this crosses the line =P
With the image underneath the tearing, being the actual sig itself of coarse, and the tear marks a transparency so it would match any mtg forum I happened to frequent... But I don't think I need to tell you how this stuff works, you are the art major after all.
You, sir, have challenged me. Well, sort of. I think I can pull this off easily actually after I think about it. All you are really asking me to do is to create an interesting tear away effect in Photoshop which I could do like two or three different ways off the top of my head in like...seconds.
I think I have seen similar Signature types before and I do believe I did something similar in my original attempts years ago at Signature making(it was Final Fantasy XII Gilgamesh hiding in the shapes of his own weapons as a signature).
Of course, I'll embellish and touch up the card artwork within the individual tears and make it look as neat and clean as possible with some artistic flare mind you.
Eh, probably something simple as to not obstruct the artwork itself. Something to the effect of:
-Kueson
At the bottom right somewhere would be great. I would go with a quote or something, but both my chosen cards happened to not have flavor text...
As far as touching up the artwork, please do! lol. I love the effects and random brush's you've done on what looks to be your most recent work, I have faith that you will make it look amazing.

If it looks like a bug, sounds like a bug, and acts like a bug then it's probably working as intended.

As per the rules please place this below your signature please, sir: Sig.siouxwerks.
ResultsTendToVary, I am literally starting on your signature as we speak and I'll probably have that bad boy done by Friday.
Wow that is really glorious. I love that I was right about your color work. Your harmonies are great as usual. I love that you backlit Karona, makes her look so dramatic.
Very very well done. I hope this sig helps spread the love about your shop =d
Prrrrrobably the best signature I've seen on this forum, like, ever.
Wow. Thanks man. I was actually pretty lost at the beginning with that signature but it all worked out in the end after some careful experimentation with some artistic principles and a few off the wall ideas I actually got from shoveling snow of all the times.
ResultsTendToVary, I got pretty far with your signature but I am going to have to put you off until tomorrow. My computer is being aggressively taken over by an extended family member tonight so he can do something with taxes. Sometimes it isn't the best thing to have a working computer on the reservation especially one that actually came from a store.
Kueson, You shall be seeing your signature on Sunday.
I think I am going to abolish my ETA system and just have put down the days of when I think I'll have work done for people. I'll stipulate in the rules to compensate for the change, blah, blah, blah.
The point is you are both getting your stuff this weekend and I am lazy and eccentric like most young artists. Yay.
Okay, ResultsTendtoVary, here is your signature. It isn't flashy as my last couple due to the fact Gaddock Teeg is not a flashy character it looks like. His card screams soft lighting and gentle hues of white and green not to mention he is an old Kithkin, an advisor to boot. I think this soft lit signature works for him. Not to mention cutting this dude out was a pain in my ass. Cutting hair as wispy and thin as this with an extremely light background isn't easy I'll tell you that. Even after the cut I was satisfied with I had to rework it mid signature using some clever layer work to make the hair look presentable. I think a did a good job on that front as well though now that I look at it.
As per the rules if you would be so kind as to put this below it in your signature I would be most appreciative my good man. Sig.siouxwerks.

Holy... mercy...
That is probably one of THE most amazing things ever. I knew if I just let you run wild with it, you'd have fun. Thanks for incorporating my quote.
Again... Amazing work, sioux. I'm going to be proud to have this.

No problem, RttV. I am enjoying doing these and with every signature I am learning new things and am working quite fast I am finding as the tool sets become ever more familiar especially when I know what look I want for a signature. Not that experimentation and mistakes don't occur but I am finding they are occurring a lot less thanks to all this practice.
Oh and...
I made some mistakes in the original that I think still work to it's advantage but I reworked it so it was a little more complete or rather to my complete liking even though I am finding a couple more things I am not liking but that is the nature of the beast...An artist should never be satisfied. Whether you like the original or prefer the new one is up to you I just wanted to provide the improved version.
Kueson, yours is coming along. I'll have up sometime tomorrow evening if not Monday morning. This weekend has been kicking my ass. The price I pay for living incredibly near the extended family these days. There is always a dinner I have to attend, a funeral, a party, a gathering, a pow wow, blah, blah, blah. Its not a bother really due to the fact I never really go without any basic needs but my time for my hobbies is a lot smaller these days.

It would be awesome if there could be text in the top left that reads "There shall be a vast shout...", and that continues in the bottom right, "... and then a vaster silence."
I have absolutely no idea what resolutions are what in terms of size. I did some googling around to see what common signature resolution sizes are. Is 150 x 450 a reasonable suggestion? I'm sure you know what's best, and apologize for my incompetence :embarrass:.

That sig is great and bright, like the alignment of the 5 suns, you know, pre phyrexian partypoopers.
I cannot wait to see mine, you have a great talent for color.

This is brilliant, I am completely satisfied and proud.to wear it!
Riv, our first artwerks. goal is to render out.all of the myr, which we had about 8 of so far. I just wanted him to pick any of them for this piece.
Thats great, Cant wait to see this render: Plague Myr That version is the coolest looking myr hehe.
